About this property
19-Acre Russian River Wine Country Retreat, Private Beaches, beautiful house
Sunday night Special $400, 3 night minimum. Beautiful 19-acre one-of-a-kind riverfront retreat at the confluence of the Russian River and Big Creek in the Sonoma Wine Country’s Alexander Valley of northern California. Several private beaches offer fantastic world-class river swimming in clear, relatively warm comfortable water (about 9-degrees warmer than most California rivers) with a reasonably mild current, all in a wonderful natural setting teeming with wild life - - the trout fingerlings will nibble at your toes! Downstream towns like Rio Vista and Guerneville, while charming, offer less ideal river swimming conditions because they are often located in cooler redwood forests and the water isn’t as clear.
The comfortable, clean 3-bedroom (all with walk-in closets) 2 ½ bath house (sleeps 6 + 2 sleeper couch = 8) includes a 7-person hot tub/spa, TV (all cable channels), DVR, Wi-Fi, propane BBQ, decks, fire pit, fruit tree orchard and separate Horse Barn game room/beach clean-up station with pool table, darts, horseshoes and badminton, basketball hoop and an outdoor shower.
The peninsula property is located in Cloverdale, 3 minutes from downtown, only 20 minutes from enchanting Victorian Healdsburg and surrounded by 40 notable Alexander Valley vineyards including Rodney Strong, Francis Ford Coppola, Ferrari Carano, Dry Creek Vineyards, Fritz and Geyser Peak. Just 80 easy freeway miles north of San Francisco. Enjoy a perfect summer day with wine-tasting in the morning, beaches in the afternoon and fine dining and hot tub under the stars at night. In summertime, it’s fabulous swimming and hot, dry weather (limited floaties provided for guests). A great road trip includes small river towns nestled in redwood groves like Monte Rio and Forestville, then on to the Pacific where the misty rock pillars of Jenner tower majestically in the sea. Don’t miss old Fort Ross, the early 19th century Russian empire fur trading post, and magical Mendocino, the Victorian gem atop the cliffs overlooking the ocean. Sorry no pets. Have a great trip!
SUGGESTION: Stay all day at Two Rivers as a “destination” resort: Excellent river swimming at 6 private beaches; downriver floating; hot tub; fishing (license required) and cray-fishing (no license required – Owner will lend Guest a crawdad trap upon request); game room with pool table, darts, badminton, basketball hoop, ping-pong / beer pong table, etc.; camp fire pit; property exploration over 19 acres; riverside and in-river lounging; BBQ; star-gazing under Cloverdale’s renown summer night skies; and birding -- best areas are at the confluence of 2 streams at Two Rivers Beach and also the woodpecker colony at entrance on Big Creek.
*the caretaker's cabin is next to the me house, you may knock on their door if you’re in need anything. You will not be bothered and they don't use the facilities. Presence of docks on water are subject to river water level. No more than 8 people allowed on property at a time, no parties. Internet can be spotty at times, good cell service.*

About the host
Hosted by Tova Sloan

Stable, responsible senior husband and wife married decades with two grown children. Our daughter, Tova manages the property. Sometimes we stay on premises in nearby caretaker's cabin working, gardening or recreating but keep low profile and allow Guests the "run of the place" whenever possible.
Why they chose this property
Available for rent first time in 100 years. The house is fairly new, being built in 2008 and very comfortable, but the property is special because it is a 19-acre peninsula located at the confluence of two great Sonoma County streams: Russian River and Big Creek. These amazing people-friendly streams offer world-class river swimming thanks to the relatively warm, clear, mild-current water teeming with wildlife in a beautiful natural setting.
What makes this property unique
Lots of space to roam around in this huge private island-like 19-acre resort with 6 beaches, landscaped grounds, good house and views, all in a beautiful natural setting. Only 20 minutes from upscale Healdsburg and located in the heart of the Wine Country with 40 prominent wineries. Decks, views, fire pit, orchard, garden, mature landscaping, and especially fantastic river swimming in the Russian River, certainly one of the most people-friendly rivers on earth.
