We stayed here with three families while visiting Nauvoo. It was an amazing retreat. The kids especially loved exploring outdoors and fishing. It had everything we needed and we had a great time.
This was our 2nd time staying at the lodge and we loved it just as much as the 1st time. Very clean, beautifully decorated for the holidays, and a great layout that allows 13 of us to gather without being cramped. Another great stay!
We loved your gorgeous cabin. Entire family was so comfortable and enjoyed the stunning views. We had a wonderful time catching up while feeling at home combined with being somewhere special. Absolutely loved it!
This was an amazing place to stay for our family reunion. The property was big enough to host all our families (12 of us), including teens. We enjoyed the pond, the bbq, the fire pit......such a great place to meet and reconnect. Highly recommend!
Beautifully laid out home and property. Well stocked with essentials and linens! Family enjoyed the deck time early morning and evenings while watching the wildlife
Home and property are absolutely beautiful! Plenty of space for everyone. Kitchen was well stocked. It is a gravel road to the home. And GPS takes to to the driveway right next to the house
Absolutely awesome house and experience. Jill was so accommodating and easy to work with! House is just beautiful and was perfect for 8 overnight guests (with room for more) and 45 people for my son’s rehearsal dinner. Had everything we needed and more! Would definitely recommend!
This was a wonderful rental and I could not be more impressed with our host. The cabin was beautifully located with a nice touch of privacy. The cleanliness of the house was top notch and the rental had all of the necessary supplies to allow us to focus on the stay. So much to do here with nature, fishing pond, hikes and sunrise/sunsets. Finally, the service the host provided makes the stay very comforting -- extremely supportive and responsive!
This worked perfectly for multiple families and our grade/middle/high school kids to ring in the New Year together. It was well maintained, easy to use, and had all the provisions we might have wanted, like extra kitchen chairs and folding table so our whole group could eat together. We weren’t sure of the basement configuration but the bedroom with two twin/double bunk beds has an en-suite bathroom, while the one with one bunk has the bath detached. It all worked fine for us!Unlike some other recent experiences we have had, this host was generous with soap/linens/k cup coffee/etc. which made for an easy stay. The host was responsive and great to work with. We would love to stay here again.
Our group of 5 adults and 3 children loved our stay at the cottage. We found it very clean and well-stocked with towels, extra blankets, etc. We were especially impressed with the kitchen, which we all agreed was one of the best we'd encountered at a rental; it had everything we needed for cooking meals of all kinds. There was plenty of room indoors and outdoors for the kids' rambling, and we all appreciated the grounds with pond, firepit and nearby creek, all in the context of quiet, remote surroundings-- mostly farmland. We could all gather comfortably in the Great Room or split up to have time to ourselves in the bedrooms, sprawling upstairs porch, downstairs patio and basement bar/sitting area. Jill communicated well with us before and after the visit and encouraged us to contact her during if we needed anything, which we didn't. Great stay all-around, and the star-gazing and paddle boating were bonus treats.
This property was beyond our expectations for the setting and beauty of the home. It was large, spacious and the wood and high ceilings create a peaceful atmosphere. It is great for a destination vacation because it is far out from any thing else with an incredible view all around . It was not ideal for our situation because we were staying for the Nauvoo pageant. It was advertised as 30 minutes away from Nauvoo but it is definitely 50 minutes away. I should have checked my maps before so it is a large part my fault. The owners were easy to work with and helpful with any of my questions. We rented the apartment above the garage which was brand new and comfortable. It’s probably the nicest vacation rental you can find in the area but not necessary the most convenient for Nauvoo.!
Beautiful place - plenty of space and well-equipped
Jill's place was the perfect setting for our (very) small wedding. Several family members and friends stayed on-site in the days leading up to the wedding, and there was plenty of room to spend time together in the great room or out on the deck and for folks to spread out and have some space to themselves. I know the area well, and you'd be hard-pressed to find a lovelier setting.
Our family met here for a quiet New Year's Eve celebration. We had a wonderful time! The property is beautiful and peaceful. The home is welcoming and comfortable. I highly recommend it!
Loved this place! My 8 year old granddaughter summed it up when we got there, "wow this place is cool".. Everyone love the house, amenities and location. We would love to do a family get together again there again.
This house is gorgeous! We had 4 small families at the house for our Christmas weekend and it worked out perfectly. The teenagers used the apartment and the rest of us had our own beds in the lodge. Plenty of space, everything was in great condition, and the place was decorated very nicely for Christmas. We spent a few hours in Quincy, but really enjoyed the acreage around us and the ability to stay in and enjoy our time together. Thanks for a great stay - we plan to book it again!
The architecture was absolutely exceptional. Kitchen so well stocked including spices and herbs left by previous visitors. View from back deck quite open and beautiful. Very open sitting room on each of the three floors. Quiet. Wonderful place to get away from it all, but great internet if so inclined. Hint: when arriving from I172 you will follow GPS to a limestone road. Travel ~1.4 miles on that road. Keep your eyes to the left. Driveway to the house is just after 2 grey silos.
We rented this property to reconnect with family and celebrate my parents’ 50th anniversary. We loved that it was really isolated yet only a half hour from Hy-Vee. The layout was fantastic. We were all able to go to different parts of the lodge when we needed some alone time, and the main living area comfortably fit the 10 of us. Each of the four bedrooms had a dedicated bathroom, which was convenient. Also, no one had to take a cold shower, so kudos to the water heater! The kitchen had just about everything we needed to prepare our meals. We brought our own games, but puzzles, dominoes, and such were provided. There is a paddle boat and picnic table at the pond. Internet was strong, cellular was spotty (Verizon and US Cellular), and TV service was Pluto. Last leg of the drive is gravel road, which wasn’t a big deal to us but others might like to know. Beautiful scenery (watch out for deer)!
Well stocked pond, plenty of deer sightings, songbird serenades with coffee every morning. Remote, quiet, and spacious. My family loved the property and the entire experience. We will return.
We had a short weekend getaway and had a wonderful time. The property is gorgeous, the home was clean and well kept, beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed. The owner was very responsive when we needed help with directions.
This was a lovely home in a beautiful rural setting. The home was clean with a well stocked kitchen.
The only drawback was the gravel road without address or signage to identify the home.
We stayed here last time we came to the area. This place is amazing! Jill is awesome to work with! The views are amazing, the cabin is so relaxing. Has everything you need and to never leave during your stay. This is a must stay place for a weekend or a week!
