Being the last house on the road it is only a very quick walk to the beach. With great surfcasting a short 2 minute walk, with at least 10km of beach to fish, and whitebaiting a 5 minute drive at Lake Ferry. The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 doubles and 1 bunk room, also a fold out couch. 2 living areas. For the summer a lovely deck with beach views and the winter a fantastic fire to keep warm. Limited cell phone coverage. Please note, there is no swimming as a very strong under tow. Walk to Lake Ferry along the coast, only 3km. Lake Ferry Hotel has great meals, open 7 days a week. Pirinoa Store only 5 minutes drive. Martinborough only a 30 minute drive with award winning restaurants and world renowned wines. Cape Palliser/Ngawi - 30 minutes drive. Walk up to the Cape Palliser lighthouse after visiting NZ's largest mainland Seal Colony. Great diving and fishing. Visit The Putangirua Pinnacles near Cape Palliser where some of the most amazing rock formations you will ever see. Put on your sturdy walking shoes and do a day trip. Doing this walk early morning is best for the affect of the early sunshine coming through the rock formations.

We had a such a nice weekend away. The bach was perfect for us - roomy and comfortable. Great fire!! We had a long walk along the beach and we drove to the lighthouse and walked to the top.
Great little kiwi bach, with everything you need. A couple of minutes, and youre at the beach, ready for some fishing. Good communications as well. Will be back
We absolutely loved the place. Nice and relaxing, had all that we needed, and is central to our activities. We've been spending 13 years camping and the likes, out that way, so it was awesome to find this place nearby 😊
We wanted to get out if Wellington for a break and this was perfect as short journey to a beautiful isolated spot close to enough good things. House was clean and tidy
We loved every moment of our stay in this bach. The check in process was very painless and from the moment we walked in we were very impressed. The fireplace keeps the place very warm and there is a huge selection of DVDs and CDs for entertainment. The setting is beautiful, our morning coffee on the outdoor furniture was made idyllic by the surrounding hills, ocean, the bulrushes and pohutukawa tree in the backyard. The owners provide everything you need for a great, relaxing stay (including some hints about where to get cell reception on the property).
The barbecue is a bit rusty and the ignition doesn't work any more, but a bit of paper and a lighter got it working.
Great place, highly recommended
