Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, made so much better by our time in Bakeapple. Ideal location for visiting in the area and beautiful views of the harbour. The property was immaculate. Thank you St John’s and Bakeapple
This little cottage is perfect for two or four people. The view of St. John's Harbour is breathtaking. If the weather is nice you can sit on the balcony and watch the ships. The path to signal hill is close by and downtown is waliking distance. The cottage is clean, comfortable and has all the amenities of home. Highly recommend.
Bakeapple Cottage was perfect for our weeklong stay in St. John's. Close to downtown for eating and shopping, and near the highways to explore the island. The property was clean and well-appointed.
This property was just perfect! The view of the working harbor and downtown St John’s was truly lovely. And it was just a few steps from the front door to some excellent hiking! It was a great spot to stay for a few days.
The cottage, location and the view were first class. Cottage was very clean and spacious rooms. Location is just minutes walk to fort Amherst, water and George streets, and many other sites. And the few of the harbour is amazing where you can almost touch the ships going in and out. Would recommend to anyone
We really enjoyed our stay at the Bakeapple Cottage. Parking was a little tricky but doable. It was centrally located with a wonderful view of the harbour and was well stocked with everything we needed.
The cottage was perfectly located to explore St Johns. We walked into St. John’s for dinner and shopping. The north head trail is right around the corner.
It had a great view of the harbour and ships.
It was cozy and had all the amenities we needed for our stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the battery and would highly recommend a stay.
We stayed at the Baked Apple Cottage for two weeks. The views were amazing and it was fun to watch the ships coming and going from the deck.
We did not like the beds as they were both uncomfortable. The first week, there was construction right under our deck. We had to listen to hammering from the night we arrived and for the next 7 days. We just finished a 6 month renovation on our home and did not expect to be right over another construction zone. We loved St John’s.
What a wonderful little house! The location was perfect and the view was fantastic. We had one extremely stormy day and stayed in. Being able to watch the harbor all day while relaxing in the living area was an added bonus.
We loved staying on Battery Rd with the view of the harbour. It was interesting to see the ships, tugs and passenger cruises coming and going. St Johns is a very walkable city and the location of our rental was perfect to walk downtown. We enjoyed the historic sites in and around St John’s and again Battery Road was the perfect location to navigate from. We will be back.
Overall the property was very peaceful and serene. My son and his wife did not enjoy the mattress in the second bedroom. They said it was much too hard. For those that still iron you might want to purchase a new ironing board cover. One last thing. Bar soap in the bathroom would have been nice to have. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.
This hillside, harbourview cottage was so conveniently located, we never used our car during our stay. We walked to downtown restaurants and shops, and the Signal Hill trailhead was right down the street. We had a bit of a blip upon check in, but we were able to reach the property manangement company via phone to solve the issue. Very quiet neighborhood, with nice views.
A perfect space for a couple with views over the entire St. John's Harbour. Well equipped with good beds, covers and pillows. One mar=tress is firmer than the other. Parking is a bit tricky but NO traffic (and a dead-end) so take your time and it's really no problem.
We loved watching the harbour both morning and night. Sometimes from inside when it was cool and on the balcony when it was warmer. Close to everything downtown.
Recommending to friends.

Wonderful harbour view from this exceptional cottage
Everything was as promised. Clean, very well appointed with comfortable beds and cosy bedding. Fantastic unobstructed view of the harbour. Quiet area in the evenings. Thank you very much for sharing this lovely rental with us. I hope to return. One of our party was a 91 year old - easy access into the unit and within the unit. We toured the area- thanks for the maps and tourist guide books. We ordered from the grocery/catering spot - Belbin's, and were thrilled with the service and delicious food. I will recommend this rental to others.
Most people will love but a few will dislike. We got here after having rural waterfront views in 2 other spots. What a contrast! We had waterfront, but it was a scene of a busy harbour of a busy city. We watched and tracked the ships from the balcony and online as they entered and left and the activity was interesting to watch. But it's noisy. At night it was just a dull roar but during the day there were all the expected clanks and bangs... not overwhelming for us but definitely omnipresent. FOR THE 3 DAYS WE WERE THERE IT WAS DIFFERENT & GREAT. If you are searching for tranquility though? Nope.
Parking and driving is again an individual rating. We had no problems once we figured out exactly where to park. But you have to be able to manoeuvre your vehicle in tighter spaces and not mind starting on a bit of a hill. Weekends the other tourists fill the narrow streets and are not above trying to take your spot at the cottage.
Communication is good but very corporate in tone. We never figured out if there was a real person we were talking to or if it was a company. This was unlike the personal contact we had with our other stays. Again, whether you like this or not depends on your personality.
The place was clean/neat but the kitchen had a number of undated items that people had left and the cleanliness of utensils/plates - and salt/pepper - required a wash. No dishwasher so this is expected.
So close to trails and downtown!!! A good stay was had.
