Well worn but close to the rocky beach
Staying at Carol’s beach house was a lovely experience. It is a bit of a pain to bring all your bedding and linens. Another issue that didn’t impact us too much because we stayed upstairs is an ant problem on the first floor. The ants do like to surprise you in the kitchen sink and the walls near the first floor bedroom. As for being dog-friendly, this place is great. Carol left out a small doggie bed, dog bowls, and a few balls which instantly caught my pup’s attention. Some things need updating like the torn slip covers and cracked and torn leather chair but everything is in good working order. Don’t look here for plush beds. The beds that are available are beyond firm and the futons are like sleeping on a brick. Any sort of back issues will be made worse by sleeping on any of the beds available. The private beach is a wonderful perk. As you approach the water there are 1-2” rocks that make navigating difficult especially for dogs. If your pup tolerates boots or shoes, I recommend bringing them because my pup had a really hard time walking on the rocks and was limping in pain. She couldn’t play in the water because of the rocks. There is a section before the rocks that is sandy and perfect for sitting on a towel or tossing a toy around with your pup (as long as they are on leash). Overall our stay was nice and we appreciate Carol and Sarah for making it happen.
