About this property
QUIET flat with great LOCATION
In general:
Experience Prague as if you were a local! The Lesser Town is on the side of the river not as spoiled with mass tourism as the Old Town yet within the walking distance to all major sightseeings (Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, Old Town Square with astronomical clock, Petřín Hill), as well as pubs, cafes and restaurants. Calm, but still very central location of the apartment is something unique when visiting Prague these days. I live here myself and would never ever consider moving somewhere else. This location is simply the best to get around the city and explore it in a proper way!
Apartment:
The apartment is situated in the very centre of Prague, on the ground floor of the neo-renaissance building (built in 1888). Ground floor may seem like a disadvantage, but there is a lot of natural light (as seen in the pictures), and it’s absolutely quiet! You will appreciate this attribute especially if you’ll arrive either on a business trip or after long Friday night :-))).
One cosy bedroom with a queen-sized bed, spacy living room with a unique vibe, where the contemporary design pairs with a vintage touch! View from windows is just to the wall on the yard, which might be not so cosy for those people, that spend all day in the bed :-). Otherwise, you ll enjoy perfect silence, cold air during summer, but well-functioning heating during cold months. I live in the same building, and can t complain about neighbourhood, location or anything else.
Capacity:
Flat is mainly for couples, although we can always add an extra mattress for third person (couch is also a possible solution) on the floor or/and baby crib if you ll decide to take a baby with yourself. However, in case you ll travel as a group of 3 adults and a baby, keep in mind that there is only one shower corner. Toilet is separated (in the flat, of course, not shared).
Neighbourhood:
Within 3 minutes by foot, you ll find 4 groceries and convenience stores, 5 restaurants, 3 cafés, ATM, nonstop Mexican fast food and many pubs. Everything necessary is really close to the building :-).
The apartment is situated in the very centre of the Prague, just a few minutes by foot from every possible place one should visit during his stay in Prague. Lots of great restaurants and pubs around the corner, jazz&blues clubs with concerts every evening. Every possible sightseeing is reachable by foot or tram that s just a minute from the doorstep.
I really dig Mala Strana (Lesser Town) it is like a village in the city, with buildings hundreds of years old and an unforgettable atmosphere. I personally like it better than the Old Town across the river. You can reach Prague Castle (which is absolutely phenomenal by foot through a beautiful park Petrin) or Charles bridge (through another park, Kampa). Mala Strana is a place where I spent my entire childhood and will always love to come back there.
*Transport and parking:
CAR: I provide a 50 % parking discount if you’ll arrive by car :-)! There is almost always a spot right in front of the house (parking in the garage is not possible in the historical core of the city for obvious reasons)
If you will arrive by car, please do not forget to send me your license plate number, so I could add it to the database, so you will t have to worry about anything.
PLANE: If you send me your flight number in advance, I can provide the cheapest taxi you can get in Prague that would pick you up at the airport. Price is roundly 400-500 CZK (20-25 USD, 18-23 EUR)
PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
Tram station is just a minute from the house and could take you anywhere! But there s almost no need to use public transport because everything is easily reachable on foot within a few minutes.
*Equipment in premises:
WiFi, fully equipped kitchen, hair dryer, washing machine, possibility to borrow an electric or acoustic guitar. And, of course, basic things such as towels, clean bed linen, toilette paper, candles for even more cozy evenings,
*Contact and accessibility during guests stay:
I can give you tips for great concerts in Prague, especially jazz or blues. Will reply to any requests ASAP. If you re a musician we could jam eventually...:-) I will provide a map and some info for the best places to visit. Either me (Hans) or my friend (Johannes) will check you in, so I could show you the whole apartment, give some hints and show you some of my favourites and not so well-known routes on the map.
I would love to share my music collection with you! Since I live in the same building, you can play any of my records from Louis Armstrong, Muddy Waters, all sorts of blues, The Beatles, the Stones and even some hip-hop LPs! There are no neighbours living above or under the apartment, so you can play the records without any remorse!
If you are not feeling tired, we can walk around the neighbourhood and get some info about where are all the tram stops, grocery stores, breakfast, lunch and coffee places, ATMs and money exchanges. I am always replying to your messages as soon as I see them.
Because I recently moved to the same building to the top floor, I can get to you as fast as possible if there s an emergency or you need something to help with :-).
Contact:
I will very likely and gladly check you in in person :-). Otherwise, it might be my friend Johannes. I live in the same building, so if I m not at work or at college, I am always in touch. I live in the very same building, so either I or my roommate is available 24/7 in case you needed some help or wanted to hang out and get to know the real Prague and places still unspoiled with the mass tourism!
Feel free to ask us more!
