About the host
Hosted by Trish Tyler
We moved to the South West of France about 23 years ago from Scotland ( there was a bit of time in East Africa too) and love it. Our three boys were brought up here and all help at making sure the property is run professionally. The house is run as a B&B for most of the year so accommodation and a warm welcome is what we do. Mark & the boys have a building business specialising in rennovations - guess who did the work on La Girarde!
We very much feel part of the community and would love you to discover this gem of a region of France

Why they chose this property
We fell in love with the house back in 2004. It was the sun shining through the double aspect entrance hall that did it. The property belonged to the Carrive family and they had a tradition of welcoming friends and family from all over the world, something we continue to do.
It took us two years to lovingly restore it to it's current state. Keeping all the traditional features but adding all the contemporary comforts you could wish for.

What makes this property unique
The light that shines into the house, the beautiful stone walls and the weeping willows make La Girarde unique. There is a feeling of calm when you walk in, it’s the perfect spot to let go of a busy lifestyle and relax.
