'Ginger & Cacao" is perfect for individual vacations, family gatherings, small wedding parties and honeymoons.

The property has large open areas where each house has its own space and privacy, and each one is unique.

Sunlight and a sense of lightness define the White Cottage.
The cottage is build under huge trees and next to the pool, facing East for terrific ocean views, and to catch the ocean breeze. Large verandas make this place perfect to relax after a long day at the beach. French windows bring light, and the green of the surrounding jungle inside. Its white interior complemented by teak wood wall and art, truly reflect the owner’s ideas for beach comfort. The open floor layout allows for easy and comfortable indoor-outdoor living. The cottage has well defined rest area with queen size bed and a sofa, and kitchen - dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped, with dishwasher including. The dining area has dining table for 4.
The full bath and the walk-in closet are quite spacious. The cottage is air-conditioned. As an option, and for personal preferences, we have ceiling fans in each space of the cottage. Mosquito screens are installed on every window. Free WiFi and cable TV are included.

There is a safe deposit box installed in the walk-in closet. Please secure all your valuables, and lock all doors and windows before leaving the cottage. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY PERSONAL LOSS!

The cottage uses a shared parking below the pool area.

The property’s two villas Ginger and Cacao are located at the opposite side of the pool area. High ceilings, hardwood floors, massive wooden doors, and large decks complete the villas’ elegant furnishings.

Villa Cacao has fantastic ocean, and jungle views from all rooms. It has one master suit with en-suite full bath, with indoor and outdoor showers. The fully equipped kitchen has a bar that connects it with the large ocean view deck. The sitting area is beautifully furnished with two individual sofa beds that set for comfortable sleeping. This part of the villa has its own full bath.
The villa shares the parking bellow the cottage. A private path takes you to the beautiful pool area.

Villa Ginger is nested into the surrounding jungle with views of it from every single window and deck. The villa has two air conditioned bedrooms with queen size beds, one full bathroom with jungle views, fully equipped kitchen with dining area, porch and two decks. The large front deck has a comfortable sitting, and dining area under umbrellas. Ginger has its own parking space at the front. A minute walk on paved path will take you to the pool area.

The beautiful pool area, surrounded by jungle and landscaped gardens, includes a pool pavilion with swinging daybeds, and a leisure area with chaises and umbrellas. The pool area is the perfect spot to see large families of capuchin and howling monkeys raiding the treetops, and to observe the amazing toucans on nearby fruit trees.

The property is interesting to explore. It consists of authentic tropical jungle with bromelia gardens added around each house, and plants with lots of colors and fragrance. The numerous cacao trees and ginger plants inspired the name, “Ginger & Cacao”.

The property is maintained by caretakers. For your service and convenience, they reside in a separate cottage on the property grounds by the gate.

"Ginger & Cacao” is perfectly located at just short walk to Punta Uva Beach, one of the most striking in Costa Rica. A rare place still kept as natural as possible, with a minimum negative impact of over-development. Here is where the jungle meets the white sand beach with its emeralds waters and the almond trees to provide a natural shade. It’s not crowded and is safe for swimming, kayaking and snorkeling.

In Punta Uva one feels the complete connection with nature. There is nothing more beautiful than to get on a bicycle and go for an early morning ride to Gandoca- Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge. At this time of the day, there is so much life and activity in the jungle. Howling monkeys call from the tree tops, butterflies and birds fly around searching for food.
Punta Uva is a very private area, removed from the traffic and congestion in areas closer to Puerto Viejo. There are a few excellent restaurants, and grocery stores. Within only a 10 min drive, if you choose, you can quickly get to Puerto Viejo.

At night, the action happens in Puerto Viejo. It might look a bit shabby, but give it some time and it will grow on you. At night, the somewhat sleepy village turns vibrant, full of life and music, with the smell of food coming from all directions. Ocean-front bars blast reggae and calypso. Shops stay open till late hours.
