Friendly host. Beautiful lake out back.Left us alone. Had everything we needed. I would suggest a lit driveway entrance. I passed it several times at night.

Everything, shopping easy parking quiet and everyone very friendly!!!
We enjoyed a quiet relaxing weekend, with leisurely exploration of the area, and cozy conversation at the cottage. Owners were very accommodating and made sure that we were safe amid severe weather conditions. Highly recommend this rental to others.
This was just what we needed. The studio was in a beautiful setting, just minutes from the things we wanted to do. Just perfect for our quick getaway from the real world.
This place is a little slice of heaven. It is far enough from town to feel like you are all by yourself. The view from the cottage is amzing and the hosts are very helpful and polite. Love this place 10/10 recommend.
We left a few hours ago and are already talking about staying here next time we visit the area. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and for just the two of us, it was perfect. The unit is adorable, had everything we needed and overlooked the beautiful lake. It’s centrally located between Washington and Hermann which we loved because we enjoy both towns. The family lives next door and they are friendly but respect your privacy. I’d recommend this unit to any couple!
Never has a stay anywhere been better.

Deborah and Mike are above and beyond accomodating.
Very clean and awesome view of lake.
We had a great quiet weekend at the lakefront studio. Accommodations were cozy and very peaceful. Owners were very accommodating, making sure that we were safe in severe weather. Sitting and watching the wind move the water on the pond gave an opportunity for relaxation and reconnection. Conveniently located between New Haven and Hermann, with several options to explore.

Perfect weekend getaway!
Super cute place, unfortunately it was rainy so we did not get enjoy the dock and fire pit like we wanted. Will definitely be back. Noise did not bother us, we always bring a portable fan for noise lol. Not your cookie cutter stay, I like different.
This adorable little stay was great for a few days. It has most of what you'd need for a short trip - coffee pot, coffee, electric griddle, hot plate, microwave and a small frig. The windows and high ceiling make it seem much bigger than it appears from outside. The bathroom was spacious and the deck - with a propane grill - was perfect for evening wine sippin' and storytellin'. The pull out bed is a twin and not super comfortable, but it did work for the few days we were there. It would be perfect for a small child. It's about 10 miles to Hermann, but it is a nice country drive and away from the hustle and bustle that Hermann has to offer. Very peaceful.
The place was perfect for a two day trip. It was clean and had a great view of the little lake and fall colors. We were able to cook breakfast on the electric griddle provided, however, we were not able to grill the steaks we had planned because of no way to clean the grill. No problem, though, we just had an authentic German meal out instead.

Sandy’s Lake
It was not as nice as pictured. The fire pit was just a little burn pile. There was a large crack in the shower floor. No flowers as pictured. The main house was not kept up as pictured.

Hi Cathy, we’re sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. After reviewing your feedback, we reached out to the homeowner, who shared the following:
-We apologize for the crack in the shower, which did not impact functionality. A professional repair was already scheduled shortly after your stay.
-The fire pit is constructed from durable concrete and, like any frequently used fire feature, naturally accumulates ashes over time. We ensure it remains in good condition for guests to enjoy, but some residual ash may be present from prior use.
-As for the flowers, maintaining them during the peak summer heat can be challenging, so they are not currently included in the landscaping.
We're committed to providing the best experience for every guest and look forward to welcoming more satisfied guests, as seen in our previous and recent reviews.
The location was lovely.. the lightening bugs, the night air and sounds, the people, the river.. Fantastic! BUT.....It would have been great to have a few more kitchen things like paper towels and more plates and maybe a better pan. It was set up more for drinking than eating, but I get it. It was just a bit hard to make meals. Other than that... A+! Thank you.
Thank you for hosting us for our annual girls weekend getaway! Our stay was so fun and we love that we can say we stayed in an old gas station! The view was BEAUTIFUL! I could have stayed at the property the whole time. I would love to come back when it is perfect fishing weather for the opportunity to fish!
Michelle’s communication was top notch! Prior to our trip, Michelle was quick to answer any questions that our group had. When we arrived, I couldn’t get the Kurig to work but they had a replacement quickly set up for us. She even texted me that night and let us know we left a pillow behind.
This would be the perfect opportunity for a romantic get away or a best friend trip! We had 3 girls in our party and the pull out couch was a little small for comfort. It was described in VRBO correctly, but I felt this would perfectly fit 2 people.
One recommendation is getting a third stool for the counter so everyone could sit and eat/play games. Otherwise, wonderful accommodations!
Everything was great. Asked for extra soft pillows. Michelle brought right away. Evole was slow to contact and update payments. Great place to stay. Will definitely come back!
I had hoped it was a bit larger than the photos indicated but it is quite small. Sitting on the dock of the nearby pond, enjoying a cocktail at sunset was the highlight of our visit. The host was responsive when we didn’t have TV or WiFi service, we travelers are looking for rural ambiance but access to our electronic toys still. Bed was very comfortable, great shower, perfect rest spot as we explored the Hermann Valley!! Thanks for the hospitality
