Exactly what I think of when I hear "a cabin in the woods". A lovely cabin in a beautiful location. The cabin was roomy with everything and anything you would need for a wonderful and comfortable stay. I would definitely stay again.
While we enjoyed our stay I have to say that it was a lot smaller than I expected according to the pictures on the website. But overall it was really nice and we enjoyed stay in there thank you
It was a great cabin getaway! The owner was responsive with questions when things were missing or dirty. Comfortable beds. I would've wanted cleaner and more comfortable deck furniture to be able to enjoy the outdoors more, and be able to turn off the flood light in that outdoor lounge area to see the stars better. But it was a lovely home and we'd definitely go back!
We absolutely enjoyed our stay in this cute little cabin tucked away in the heart of the mountain. The property was VERY clean compared to previous homes on the mountain we’ve stayed in! You can tell the owners care about their property and did their best to accommodate modern technology with the charging ports by the beds,Xbox(the kids loved). We woke up to 2 deer right by the house grazing. It was a perfect weekend away!

Cozy&cute but with listing errors-would stay again
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. There were some things that we expected from the listing that weren't available: twin futon, complimentary toiletries. That wasn't a huge deal but the listing needs to be updated to reflect those not being available. Wonlhadhad
The cabin is a little smaller than anticipated but still great cabin with board games available to use and a tv in each room. The lights for the ramp did not turn on which made it hard when we’d go out at night but still great cabin with the master bedroom upstairs and 1 bathroom upstairs and the other 2 bedrooms downstairs along with the other bathroom.

Stay review
Property was very cleanly, pictures made space seem larger, but sitting by the fireplace was very cozy. Missing few kitchen tools such as bottle/wine opener, a few back up rolls of TP and paper towels. Was unable to locate the dumpster to put the trash out, had to find a trash can at the resort park to dispose of trash. Overall space was good for a weekend stay. Thank you.
This property was great. It had everything you needed plus more inside.I love that it was two levels in the master bedroom was upstairs secluded from the other two rooms. Place was very clean and we enjoyed the fire pit. I will definitely try to book this property again. I loved everything about it. Definitely real cabin vibes. Last but not least communication was great with owners answered and responded whenever I had questions, I even got to stay a hour later from real check out time. Just over all a wonderful stay and I highly recommend others to come and check it out , u will not be disappointed.

Has a lot of potential
The location is beautiful and if you're looking for a rustic get-a-way then this rental has potential. Some things to consider, the kitchen is small and dining for more than 3 is tight. There is ample bedroom space but limited general gathering space indoors. The owner should consider some new cookware, ensuring the grill is clean and gas tank is full. The bathrooms are a bit dated.

Hi Jim, we take guest feedback seriously and passed your comments on to the homeowner who would like to share the following:
-We appreciate your feedback.
-We have been discussing remodeling the kitchen and bathrooms, as we agree they are getting outdated. We are meeting with contractors in a few months to explore options.
-The grill should be getting cleaned after stays, so we'll let our property manager know to ensure it gets done and to check the propane tank.
-We'll also look into getting the cookware replaced.
Thanks again for your feedback!
We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin in Massanutten. the cabin was clean and matched the pictures/descriptions. it's an older property with upgraded appliances - Small kitchen/gathering space but it had everything we needed to act as our home base for a weekend full of hiking, waterpark, etc. The fire table worked nicely - we didn't use the grill. The cabin is in the middle of a neighborhood - there are houses in every direction, but they are all well-spaced from this property. It's woodsy and the kids loved the friendly cat which came to visit as well as clearing leaves from the small creek. It was a pleasant stay.

Overall, this property could use some TLC. There were cobwebs everywhere in the house. There was a foul smell inside the home, which I believe may have been from the carpeting. The outside porch could use a good cleaning or at least swept prior to our arrival. The grass/weeds in the back were overgrown and were up to the back door leading to the patio/deck. It was not inviting at all. I was very disappointed with the property and would not stay again.

From the owner:"Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re truly sorry to hear the home didn’t meet expectations. We visited the property right after your stay and saw some of the same things you mentioned, including the cobwebs and the porch needing attention. We know the house could use a little extra love, and we’re actively working on updates to improve both the indoor and outdoor spaces. We appreciate your honesty—it’s helping us make things better for future guests."

Rustic cabin
A cute cabin. Bathrooms need serious painting, caulking, and aesthetic
repair but worked perfectly although bathrooms appearance was rough for sure. The oven wasn’t useable due to some plastic substance melted on the interior of the door and it was dirty There wasn’t a toaster, blender, no salt only pepper and sugar No hand soap in the upper bathroom. We had to haul our trash out of the area because the instruction for the trash was not clear. The living space was clean, beds were comfortable and clean. I couldn’t find a broom or vacuum to clean up during our visit. There were no screens to open windows but the ac and heat worked wonderfully. Nice location. I couldn’t get regular tv but there were lots of streaming options. We enjoyed our stay .

Hi Sarah, thanks for taking the time to review your stay. After reading your feedback, the homeowner wanted to share the following:- We appreciate your feedback, and we'll have our property manager inspect the stove to ensure it's in proper working order. Additionally, we'll consider adding appliances like a toaster and blender to enhance the guest experience.- We've been working with the Property Owners Association to expand the living area, but there are regulations we must navigate. We're exploring alternative options to accommodate guests better.- As part of our planned remodel, we're updating the bathrooms to enhance comfort and functionality.- Garbage disposal has been a challenge, and we've suggested various solutions to the Property Owners Association, but they've been declined. We understand it's inconvenient and are actively seeking alternative options.Thank you for your review, and we're committed to improving the guest experience.

Not so good
First of all the host Lee is not very professional. When you text and ask something all he says was "ok" nothing else. He will reply on you just whenever he wants too. The cabin was ok but there are some issues. The kitchen sink and bathroom sink was clogged. One of the pillow cases had make up stain I took a picture of it and sent it to Lee but didn't get any reply.
Beautiful setting with wildlife around, functional and comfortable. No propane for grill or fire table. Still an enjoyable visit.

Okay but could be much better
Few issues.
1. We arrived late in the evening (after 9pm). Pitch dark and no lights. There is no driveway. There are about 100 steps to go down to the main door in jungle. Thank god we had some flashlights. Opened the door and realized that the owner had put a note on the switch saying DO NOT TURN OFF, but the previous renters must have not done their job. We turned it on, but the motion sensor lights is terrible. I understand that you want to save electricity, but when at night, in jungle, you may want to have the light stay on for few minutes after motion is activated. Right now, it turns off immediately. This made it harder for us to move our stuff into the house and had to have our own flashlight constantly on.
2. House was not cleaned at all. There were spider webs all over the house. There were dead bugs on the kitchen floor and the house. I understand some of the stuff as it is in the middle of the jungle, but when it is not cleaned inside or sprayed, then the owner must be held accountable. We had to clean the place ourselves. Humans 5, bugs 0. Everyday, we noticed that live bugs would show up in the kitchen area. Could not figure out how they are getting entry in the house, specifically in the kitchen area.
3. Furniture, carpets, equipment seem to be about 20-25 years old. functioning but can be better.
4. Trash Pickup - Instructions are incorrect. Trash drop off is now at 2.5 miles away.
Hopefully it can be changed.
We had a great trip. The only downfalls we’re that you had to drive quite a distance to dispose of your garbage and there was no toaster and neither was a deal breaker. It was so quiet and no other houses right on top of you. There were several deer right outside and a friendly black cat. 😊

Disappointed
Cabin is much smaller than photos make it appear. Very musty odor especially upstairs bedroom. Found mice droppings on bottom drawers of bedroom dresser. Very dusty, needs a good cleaning. Outdoor chairs were broken, carpenter bees infestation on deck area. Table stools were all very loose & wobbly except for 1. No central air, gets quite hot. Area rug corners severely lifted, kept bar stools on corners to prevent tripping hazards. Would never stay here again.
Clean, comfortable and private. Had everything we needed.

This place needs some TLC
I want to first say the property manager was fast to respond when we needed things but this home definitely needs some TLC!
The check in and out process was very easy since they have a locked key box .The location to ski resort was great but there were several things that need to be addressed in this home! The water in the master shower had no pressure, so we all had to use the bottom bathroom .When we arrived the grill was left dirty with no propane gas left which the property manager had replaced the next day for us.The Carbon Monoxide Detectors was sitting on the dining room table and didn’t work at all.The kitchen amenities were very slim, for example there was only 2 steak knives for our family .Many of the lights had burnt out lights or no light bulbs which I feel should be standard things replaced before you have a renter come in. I have to say this place needs some tlc before it’s rented again!

Hi Kristi, We're glad that you enjoyed the property's great location, but we were sorry to hear that some aspects of the cabin fell short of expectations. The owners greatly appreciate your feedback, and they are working with their local property manager to make sure that each concern is thoroughly addressed. They want all of their guests to have a great experience in their home and would love to host you again the next time you visit Massanutten!
Perfect location! Small living area but perfect for our family and four girls! The television did not work properly in one of the kids rooms and property manager quickly replaced it with a brand new tv the next morning! The water park is right across the street and the caverns just a quick half hour away! Awesome stay! Highly recommend!
