About this property
Henderson, TN Cottage Farmstay E-I-E-I-Oh, MY!
This ain't your "grandpappy's farm"!
No, we offer a wide variety of experiences from the leave-me-alone-I'm-resting-and-need-my-coffee experience to the full-immersion-up-to-your-elbows-I-wanna-be-a-farmer experience to . Stillwaters Farm, in the heart of West Tennessee, offers the best of both worlds: a way to unplug, and a way to connect. So, plan a visit to rest, relax, reconnect, and rejuvenate!
We deliver what the others can't: Sweeping farm vistas, a private, end of the road location, and a minimum of 1.5 acres of wandering room--all with the convenience of being within 2.5 miles of the city limits!
Located on the leading edge of a 153 acre farm in the heart of West Tennessee, The Cottage is furnished in period antiques, full linens, full kitchen, full bath with vintage claw foot tub, and two charming bedrooms. Central heat/air, outdoor lounging area surrounded by perennial butterfly gardens, and views of pasture and farm. Private parking provided.
Guest Access
Guests enjoy full use of the Cottage and surrounding Cottage grounds, with shopping and wine tastings at our on-farm winery, Forty Cannons.
The Neighborhood
While a mere two miles outside the city limits, The Cottage lends itself to a bygone era—a time when life was slow and simple. In short, The Cottage allows our guests the opportunity to rest, relax, and participate in activities that they would otherwise never experience. At the farm, surrounded by hundreds of acres of agriculture and virgin woodland, our guests can learn about gardening, livestock, animal husbandry, crop harvesting, or any number of activities going on at the farm during their stay.
Horns and sirens, traffic and commerce are a rarity around here. Instead, guests will be bathed in the comfort sounds of the country—a donkey’s bray, a dog’s bark, a horse’s whinny, and, on occasion, our sheep’s graceful, signature baas.
Butterfly gardens, in full bloom most of the year, are just off the outdoor lounging area, so guests can expect a visit from the local hummingbirds (in season), graceful butterflies, and bumbling bees on the hunt for a load of pollen. Songbirds, deer, and turkey inhabit the woods and meadows all around. A good book and a cup of hot tea will round out a most enjoyable farm experience.
Looking for something a little more "hands on"? Guests can participate in one or more of the following activities, dependent upon weather conditions, guests comfort level, and season: morning feeding, hay, water; vineyard keeping; gardening; animal care and training.
Upgrade Your Stay
We strive to provide our guests the ability to dive into daily farm activities, if desired.

Come, enjoy the peace of the country!

About the host
Hosted by Valeria Pitoni
A former college professor, certified soapmaker, and sixth-generation Florida native, I moved to West Tennessee with my family, our business, and a few larger-than-us dreams in 2006. Since then, we have transformed our 153+ acre farm from an abandoned and broken down has-been into a beautiful destination for family and guests. My husband and I own and operate several businesses from the farm, including Wild Roses Artisanal, my brand for the artisanal soaps, soy candles, and other products that I hand-make right here on the farm.
Why they chose this property
In a stereotypical "Green Acres" move, my husband and I chose to give up the high-stress "city life" for the more laid-back rural life. After looking for more than two years in the state of Florida, we set out to find a place that we could make our own--somewhere between my home state of Florida and his home state of New York. We settled on Tennessee--West Tennessee, to be exact--and have never looked back.
What makes this property unique
Peace, privacy, rest, and rejuvenation. These are some of the unique qualities that our farm provides. Whether it's through the sweeping vistas of the rolling countryside, or the laugh-inspiring antics of the many animal inhabitants that we call "family", stress begins to abate as soon as you enter the gate. We've taken great pains to make each of our accommodations as user-friendly as possible, and we've tried to anticipate our guests' every need. We provide the peace of the country--just a short drive from the convenience of the city.
