About this property

Casa de Sueños is located in prestigious Starr Pass, a golf community minutes from downtown, but tucked away on the Tucson Mountain foothills. It’s located on a private corner lot atop a hill with gorgeous views. Inside, is southwest decor with exposed beams and a cozy wood burning fireplace. We have two suites separated by a large living space. The primary suite has a Cal King wrought iron bed and writing desk. The guest suite has 2 comfortable queen beds. The primary bathroom has a separate soaking tub and walk in shower. The guest bathroom has a shower/tub combination.

Step outside onto the patio and you will see why we fell in love with Casa De Sueños. It is located on a hill where you can enjoy vistas of the mountains and city lights. Glance to your left and you'll see the JW Marriott. The community at Starr Pass is surrounded by a world class, 27 hole Arnold Palmer course. Play amongst the majestic saguaros, enjoy a meal at the Catalina BBQ Grill on the green and swim in a heated 75 foot heated Olympic pool with towel service, whirlpool and fitness center. I’m a member of the JW Marriott, so my guests may use the resort’s pools M-Th.

Our Casita is fully furnished with all the amenities of home. We are tucked away in the Tucson Mountains, yet close to the U of A and downtown. Take a drive west for just 10 minutes, and you'll lose yourself in the beauty of the Sonoran Desert where the mountains and sunsets are breathtaking. Head East, and in 10 minutes you're in the center of town, where culinary choices abound and you can find fantastic places for cocktails, live music and culture.

If you're looking for a hiking experience, Casa De Sueños is surrounded by trails. My favorite is the Lorraine Lee Trail at the mouth of the JW Marriott just up the hill from us. The views are spectacular! After a 1.8 mile morning hike, head to the JW for breakfast and pop in to the Spa, where you can enjoy the views.

Consider returning in the evening to enjoy a sunset and cocktail from the most fabulous patio in Tucson! There is horseback riding nearby, the Saguaro National Park and The Desert Museum. To escape the heat in the summer, or to play in snow in the winter, head 1 hour northeast and enjoy Mt. Lemmon. 45 minutes south on I-19, you're in the charming town of Tubac. Bring your passport, then head to Nogales, Mexico a short drive away. Casa De Sueños is our home away from home and we welcome you to experience the wonders of the Sonoran Desert and the rich history and culture of the Southwest.

Lovely casa, gorgeous view, fantastic host

My husband, teen son and I loved this place! Great view of the mountain - including a patio where we saw a roadrunner up close one night. Comfortable and clean, with a great host who checked in. Loved the proximity of good hikes, and the access to Marriott Pools. Highly recommend!

A Great Time at Starr Pass October 2023

This casita is in a prime location, with great views toward the main JW Marriott Resort, as well as, across the valley toward the Catalina Mountains. A swimming pool and a fitness area are within a short walk. The Pro Shop and golf course, as well as a restaurant are just beyond the pool. Additional restaurants and a large swimming pool with cabanas, and a lazy river feature located at the main resort, are a short drive or shuttle ride away. The casita is clean and well maintained and the two primary En Suites served three adults and a teenager well. We enjoyed the Saturday evening music at the resort while having dinner and enjoying views of the Tucson city lights. Communication with Thelma was excellent. Terry

Of all the places I have traveled to, the Sonoran Desert has my heart. I was born in Tucson and raised near Starr Pass. I am a proud Wildcat, a
U of A graduate who now resides in California.
It was always my dream to return to Tucson, but until we do, we wanted to have a small piece of the desert to go home to... a cozy Casita we'd like to share with you.

Why they chose this property

This property is special because it is located in the area where I grew up, most of my family lives with a mile or so of Starr Pass. The area is absolutely the best because it is tucked away in the foot hills of the Tucson Mountains, yet it's a quick 10 minute drive to the center of town. It's also quiet and a perfect place for star gazing because of a low light ordinance. Perhaps one of the main reasons for choosing this location, is because it is near to an incredible desert trail named after my cousin and mentor, Lorraine Lee, a tireless civic leader in the community. If you visit Starr Pass you'll know "why this property."

What makes this property unique

We loved the layout - the fact that it's on the end, high on a hill, has exposed beams, rustic doors and saltillo tile. It reminded me of my travels through Mexico, complete with the two-toned painted stucco on the exterior! Mainly, I love the location. All it took was walking out to the patio and immediately, I fell in love with the views. On top of that, we're close to the pool, restaurant, gym and tennis courts. I couldn't imagine a better pace to be!
