About this property
Fire Pit + Stunning Views ~ 2BD 1 BTH Mountain Cabin - Quiet, Dead End Lane
Nestled on a quiet, dead-end street in Duck Creek Village, this 2-bedroom, 1-bath cabin offers a beautiful mountain retreat for up to 4 guests, sitting at 8,600 feet in the high mountain desert of Southern Utah. Enjoy a cozy outdoor firepit, private deck with breathtaking views, and a fully stocked kitchen for home-cooked meals. Additional amenities include high-speed wifi, and an outdoor dining area on the deck.
We require 4 wheel drive and chains in the winter. We highly recommend an SUV or higher clearance vehicle for the remainder of the year as the roads to the cabin and in the village are not paved and uneven.
✓ There is no AC. We open windows and the locking screen “storm” doors at night to allow the cool mountain air in. Temperatures in the summer are generally in the high 40’s-50’s at night. Daytime temperatures are rarely above 85 degrees. We have ceilings fans in each bedroom and portable fans. We only use our ceiling fans as it is in the 60’s inside the cabin at night.
If you’re looking to unwind in nature, be close to all the area has to offer, and have the utmost privacy, you’ve come to the right spot. Here’s a bit of an overview of what to expect:
• 2 well-appointed bedrooms:
⎯▹ Bedroom 1: 1 King bed
⎯▹ Bedroom 2: 1 King bed
• Fresh bedding + towels provided
• 1 full bathroom (tub/shower combo)
• Fully equipped kitchen
• Coffee maker, Keurig, toaster, blender, crockpot, waffle maker
• Washer + dryer in garage (under cabin)
• Wood-burning stove (wood provided)
• Garage for ATV/bike storage
Experience Overview ~
• High-speed wifi
• Stunning mountain and Duck Creek Village views
• 65” Smart HDTV + DISH satellite
• Board games + puzzles
• Direct access to nature trails
• Private deck with outdoor seating
• New ( Aug 2025) Blackstone flat top griddle/grill + outdoor dining area (not accessible during winter months). We have two tanks but we don’t guarantee they will be full. They can be exchanged or refilled at True Value or Loose Wheels gas station in the village (2 miles from our cabin).
Our cabin was built in 1981 — it’s not perfect, and we don’t claim it is. But it’s our little slice of heaven, and we do our best to share it with others in an honest, welcoming, and thoughtful way.
We are directly above the Duck Creek Community Church (on the mountain), so you will hear the beautiful church bells throughout the day.

About the host

We are native to Utah. I am a Utah real estate broker. We love the outdoors! I have been involved in the vacation rental business for 30+ years....at one time managing over 90 vacation rentals in Salt Lake. Now having my own and managing a few for others I can provide the attention to detail I was unable to provide when handling so many. In addition to our cabin in Duck Creek, we have a 4 bedroom 4 bath and a 2 bed 3 bath w/loft in Cottonwood Heights, Utah (suburb of Salt Lake - at the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon).
Why they chose this property
We bought the cabin in June 2015 after falling in love with the area on our first trip in April 2015. During that trip we visited Zion National Park (it was like summer that day in April), came back to Duck Creek and had 5" of snow that night. We went to Bryce Canyon the next day and had snow again. The following day we went to Kanab to visit Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and had very nice spring/summer weather.....WE HAD ALL FOUR SEASONS IN ONE TRIP!!!! We loved it so went back to look at property and bought our Pine Ridge Paradise!
We wanted a vacation spot of our own to share with our now 11 year old little girl (she was 1 when we purchased the cabin)
The views are spectacular from the huge deck!
The deck is so spacious and we love the 75 foot trees all around.
The wood burning stove in the living room is wonderful!
The cabin is bright and open~not dark and closed in like so many we've seen.
It is easy to do so many things yet just as easy to do nothing and relax!

What makes this property unique
Our fabulous Pine Ridge Paradise is on a dead end street providing privacy AND very little dust issues from cars and ATVs rushing by!!!! This can be a big issue in our area! The views of Duck Creek Village and the surrounding mountains are outstanding from the huge deck....one of my favorite things to do it sit on the deck and watch the birds, wildlife, big clouds in the sky and storms roll in! We also love spending time around the huge fire pit area near the garage playing our hand made corn hole game, roasting marshmallows and STAR GAZING!
Accessible year-round. There are two ways (roads) to access the cabin from Duck Creek. I have an all wheel drive medium size SUV that has never had an issue in the summer. We do use our 4 wheel drive truck (with plenty of weight in the back) in winter and spring.
Fully equipped "cabin" more like a small home with all the conveniences (internet, DISH TV, refrigerator, oven, stove, microwave) yet being up on top of a mountain next to wildlife!
