**Welcome to Mountain Life!**
We’re thrilled to have you and your family stay with us at THAT Cabin. Please keep in mind that life here operates a bit differently than in the larger surrounding cities. The weather can be unpredictable, and the local charm adds to the experience.
Before you head out, here are a few important things to know:
1. **Weather Preparedness:** The weather can change quickly in the mountains. Be sure to check local forecasts and pack accordingly, including warm layers and waterproof gear.
2. **Local Amenities:** While our village may not have all the conveniences of larger cities, it offers a delightful selection of local shops and restaurants. We encourage you to explore and support these local businesses!
3. **Mountain Safety:** Whether you’re hiking, skiing, or enjoying the outdoors, please take necessary precautions to ensure your safety. Familiarize yourself with local trails and always let someone know your plans.
4. **Wildlife Awareness:** We share this beautiful space with local wildlife. Please respect their habitats and follow guidelines for encounters.
5. **Community Guidelines:** Respecting our neighbors and community is essential. Keep noise levels down, especially in the evenings, and adhere to any local regulations.
We are excited to help you create wonderful memories in this beautiful mountain setting.
(We DO NOT Supply wood for fire starting provisions, we can have wood available upon request for an additional fee. Or wood can be purchased in the village or bring your own. DO NOT BURN DURALOGS IN THE FIREPLACE. Real wood only.
ONCE THE SNOW ARRIVES…❄️🌨❄️❄️🌨❄️
In the winter Highway 14 may or may not have snow on it. The county plows the roads sunup to sundown. Upon arriving in the village the drive to the cabin is on snow covered gravel roads.
There may not be cell service for your provider in our area so please come prepared. You will ascend 8500 ft. Winter weather may vary on your journey.
4x4 is REQUIRED Winter months and we always just carrying chains. **If you feel you need chains put them on BEFORE attempting the hills, put them on in them on in a safe, flat, out of the way area. DO NOT BLOCK ROADS especially Movie Ranch/ Meadow Ranch ( it is a hill once past the church) as it is the only access to the community. 2 Wheel drive WILL NOT work.
SNOW REMOVAL: if it snows during your stay your driveway will be blown out if there’s 8” or more. The plow may only blow up to where your car is parked. If your car is on the street it may get covered in snow from the plow. So, ALWAYS park in the designated parking spots. Snow removal on the deck, too and around your car is your responsibility. There will be a shovel on the deck of the cabin. We are in line for snow plow AFTER the main roads, resident and elders.
POWER OUTAGES: in the event of a power outage the only source of heat is from the fireplace and you will have to start the fire for heat. We do not stock wood or fire starters. Plan ahead if there is winter weather and have these provisions.
This information is not to discourage your winter adventure but to keep you in form so that you can make the best of your vacation.
**Security Cameras**
* 3 visible security cameras outside: front side/road, side of the cabin, and front of the shed

About the host
Hosted by Tiger & Andeen

We have been married for over 30 years, living the fast pace crazy city life. We felt it was time to slow down, recharge, and start enjoying life and thinking about our future. The charming village of Duck Creek captured our hearts, and we hope one day to call it home. When we found "THAT Cabin," we felt this is the beginning of our dreams and future happiness! Hopefully, we will have more cabins to come!
Why they chose this property
When we first set foot on this property, there was a warm, comfortable feeling all around. Then when we stepped onto the huge deck and saw one of the most beautiful views we've ever seen, it was hands down "THE ONE"!
After purchasing the cabin, Andeen and I put our hearts and souls into remodeling it and creating the perfect escape from city life. We chose to name it "THAT Cabin" because every time we talked to someone about the cabin, their response was, "Oh Yeah, THAT Cabin with the view! Nature and unwavering beauty surround THAT Cabin, and our goal is to ensure those that choose to stay enjoy and feel welcome.
