IMPORTANT THINS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

This is Mountain life!! Things here operate much differently then the surrounding larger cities. The weather is unique and the village is too! We are excited to share our home with you and your family but there a few things you should know before you go!

Please visit the village website for info about our area and its amenities.

**GROCERIES: all stores have limited hours know before you go.

Loose Wheels is a gas station/ convenient store/ATV-shop/ Liquor

True Value: is our largest everything store, grocery, hardware store, beer

If you are not picky you can survive off the food here in the village. Just watch store hours if you arrival time is late.

RESTAURANTS: they close early! Call ahead! Early and late season they may be closed entirely.

Pinewoods Resort Restaurant
( has an outdoor patio that’s lovely)

Aunts Sues’s

Martin’s Deli

Hot Mama’s Pizza & Brew

Bring specialties: alcohol or drinks you prefer, dairy free, vegan and gluten-free etc.

Duck Creek is quaint and quite secluded so come prepared and plan to spend some quality family time indoors or out! We are also an ATV community so it is common to hear them throughout the hills.

ELEVATION: 8500ft

***IMPORTANT***
***NOV-APRIL 4x4 REQUIRED ***
***PLEASE TAKE SERIOUSLY***

2. Use Wunderground.com for weather zip code 84762.
3. We are NOT responsible for getting you on or off the mountain in or out of the cabiN. Please take winter precautions seriously.

ONCE THE SNOW ARRIVES…🌨⛄️❄️
In the winter Highway 14 may or may not have snow on it. The county plows do not plow at night and they start as early as possible to clear roads in the mornings. Once you arrive to the village the drive to the cabin is on snow covered gravel roads. Roads are plowed by slowly Road they often be slippery and freezing conditions are covered with some inches of fresh snow. They may not be cell service for your provider in our area so please come prepared. You will ascend 8500 ft. Winter weather may vary on your journey.

4x4 is REQUIRED Winter months and we always just carrying chains. **If you feel you need chains put them on BEFORE attempting the hills, put them on in them on in a safe, flat, out of the way area. DO NOT BLOCK ROADS especially Movie Ranch/ Meadow Ranch ( it is a hill once past the church) as it is the only access to the community. Do not ask if your 2 Wheel drive can make it the answer is NO!

SNOW REMOVAL: if it snows during your stay your driveway will be blown out if there’s 8” or more. The plow may only blow up to where your car is parked, if you park in the spot left of the cabin the plow should be able to blow the entire driveway. Snow removal on your deck, too and around your car is your responsibility. There will be a shovel on the deck of the cabin. We are in line for snow plow AFTER the main roads, resident and elders.

POWER OUTAGES: in the event of a power outage the only source of heat is from the fireplace and you will have to start the fire for heat. We do not stock wood or fire starters. Plan ahead if there is winter weather and have these provisions. We are not able to provide them for you, there is no Uber, there is no Uber eats, no food delivery! No tow trucks! Be prepared! Yes, the power goes out in the winter weather!

Please keep in mind if you arrive after dark on the Mountain most everything may be closed. Please plan ahead. This is a tiny village community without many winter amenities.

This information is not to discourage your winter adventure but to keep you in form so that you can make the best of your vacation. Please call us anytime to discuss your trip ahead of time so that we can make sure it’s most enjoyable!!!!

Mountain Retreat

Myself, wife and son had a wonderful stay at the cabin. It was everything we could have asked for and the location was perfect. We spent a day each at Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Ladder Canyon and Corral Pink Sand Dunes. Please read all information about the time you travel because we definitely needed an al wheel drive vehicle. We highly recommend Aunt Sues Chalet. Their breakfast was amazing. We highly recommend Maria’s cabin and would definitely stay their again.

Nice little cabin

Communication was excellent from the host. We stayed over Thanksgiving weekend which was in the low below teens at night so bringing extra firewood was a must. Space heaters throughout but the fireplace definitely helped. Overall a nice cabin, master bed was very comfortable.

Base Camp to explore Utah's Treasures

This property is in a great location for accessing several of Utah's national parks. It also is great to engage in a variety of other outdoor hidden gems. Donald and Maria were great host with good and prompt communication. They also included a number of games and area info to help make the stay more pleasurable. While I am sure this location is quite the happening place we visited in November and got to enjoy some peace and quiet.

Perfect family getaway

We love Duck Creek in the summer to get away from the Las Vegas heat. This cabin was great. The location is perfect. We gave the bedroom to the grandparents, my husband and I took the loft with the boys. The spiral staircase is a little scary if you have a little one cause the stair gaps are open, but fun once you get comfortable. Maria was a wonderful host.
