About this property

You will cherish the sunsets forever on Lake Santa Fe, located in historic Melrose Florida! This private estate has everything you need and will truly feel like a home away from home. It is fully furnished and the kitchen is equipped with everything you may need. This home is situated on Melrose Bay which is a "No Wake" section of Lake Santa Fe. Enjoy swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, and fishing without the worry of skiers and fast boats.

The home has a large open kitchen, with breathtaking views of the pool and lake. Outside you will find a covered outdoor kitchen area with a gas grill, XL green egg, stove top, 2 beverage refrigerators, a sink, and flat screen tv. (All TVs are DirectTV) You can also take in the views of the lake and pool from the covered lanai, with an adjacent outdoor shower and fire pit. The large deck adjacent to the boat house is a great place to watch the sunset while fishing for the many species of fish found in Lake Santa Fe.

Inside you will find a master bedroom located on the first floor, and a large kitchen that opens to the living room.

We've recently added a bunk room that is separate from the house, it sleeps (5 twin bunks and one queen bed) and has a full bathroom ($200 nightly additional)

This property is located within walking distance to Melrose, and only 20 minutes to downtown Gainesville, UF campus, and Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. 1 hour 15 minutes from downtown St. Augustine Florida.

The famed Blue Water Bay is within walking distance if you like fresh seafood and amazing cocktails!

Amazing property

We had a great Thanksgiving trip. Our boys enjoyed swimming in the pool & my husband got some fishing time in. The outdoor entertainment area is perfect for game day!

Pictures don’t do it justice

Relaxing, comfortable, everything we needed. What a great way to escape quarantine life and forget about Covid for a while. Loved the dock and watching the sunset. Kitchen was great to cook in.

Serene lake life

The small town location and lake views create a feeling of a far away retreat. The home is well designed inside and out and provides all conveniences and accommodations. Highly recommend

Pristine property for a perfect friend or family getaway

Trip was a guys weekend for a football game in Gainesville. Location was perfect for 4 guys in late 30’s. We taxi or Ubered into town (fair warning either have a dd or taxi lined up as Uber service is not abundant here). But it was only a 25 minute ride which on a guys trip feels more like 5 minutes. The property itself is positioned in Melrose which is a small town in a beautiful lake. Melrose seems to be one of the last towns in fl that hasn’t been overrun with tourists and overdeveloped. It’s like a refreshing step back in time and lends easily to a secluded, safe and slower pace of getaway. But you really don’t need to leave the property since it has a lake, a pool and lots of space inside. The pictures on vrbo are spot on for the property which was such a surprise. The owners clearly have an eye for detail and have cut no corners in making this place a first class getaway. Both inside and out this place is pristine and is perfect for those friends and family that appreciate the finer things. Booking was easy and straightforward. After I requested the date, Tara confirmed within hours and provided everything we needed to have a successful stay. The place had all bedding and towels well stocked and plenty of shatterproof cups for the pool area which you will find yourself drawn to. Checking out was super easy and I’ll admit it was a little tough to leave the property...I can’t say that about many places. We are already talking about returning in 2 years when football brings us back in the area. This place was a home run booking, especially from a $ standpoint as we split it four ways. We may not have won the game that weekend but I won superhero status with my friends who continually asked me “So how did you find this place again?”
