Enjoy your vacation in the middle of our magnificent alpine world in the tulip village of Grengiols. The ground floor apartment (two-family house) is located in the landscape park Binntal. It offers space for 5 people, living room with TV / satellite / DVD, radio, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, 1 bedroom with a single bed, additional cot available, toilet with shower, kitchen, lawn area (deck chairs, swing ), Garden table for 6 people, barbecue (grill available), parking space near the apartment. There are wonderful hiking and bike tours on site or in the nearby Goms and Binntal (mineral area). Winter guests enjoy the large, snow-sure ski area Aletscharena 3000 m above sea level. M. (Bettmeralp-Riederalp-Fiescheralp), 5 minutes by car. to the Bettmeralp valley station. Excursion destinations: Near the Aletsch Glacier (UNESCO World Natural Heritage), Brigerbad, Leukerbad (thermal baths), Saas-Fee, Zermatt


Nature and relaxation: recover from your stressful everyday life away from the tourist crowds in our beautiful mountains. Bächerhaeuser is a tranquil hamlet with the typical Valais houses in the agricultural zone and belongs to the municipality of Grengiols (landscape park), Upper Valais. The Valais is located in the sunny south of Switzerland.

You can reach our neighboring country Italy within an hour. In Domodossola z. B. there is a market every Saturday, which can be combined with the enjoyment of an Italian pizza. Locarno (Ticino) can also be reached in about 2.5 hours.

Leisure activities: Combine your leisure activities, e.g. B. Hiking, biking, climbing etc. with a visit to the nearby outdoor pools. You won't get bored even in rainy weather: indoor pool, fun planet (bowling, karting, billiards), fitness center (badminton, fitness, climbing, squash and tennis), cinema etc. Our region is the hiking and biking paradise (mountain bikes, electric bikes can be rented on site) in summer. Well-groomed ski slopes and cross-country trails are guaranteed in winter (ski equipment can also be rented on site).

We spent four nights here as a family with two children and had a truly excellent stay. The house is a beautifully renovated traditional Swiss wooden home with lots of character. While it retains its original charm—low ceilings and a very cozy, rustic feel—the apartment itself is modern, comfortable, and thoughtfully upgraded. The kitchen is well equipped, the shower works perfectly with reliable hot water, and everything feels solid and well maintained. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are warm. You can tell a lot of care went into the renovation.The location offers a fantastic view over the mountains, which makes the stay even more special. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful, providing all the information we needed and making us feel welcome from the start. A great place to stay—highly recommended.

We loved the quiet charming village setting!

Great spot to explore the amazing Swiss mountains of the valais! Owner aneliese is very nice and a great host. We loved the quiet traditional Swiss village setting and the amazing views. Would definitely recommend chalet alpenrose! Perfect location to explore zermatt and the matterhorn, the aletsch arena and all the rest of the amazing valais!

Very nice place and host

The house was very good. Everything you need is available. The host was very kind and helpful. We had a great time in and around the house (garden and the surroundins). We made nice hikes and mtb-tours.

We were so happy with the entire stay. The host was very friendly and helpful. The apartment was clean and well maintained. The area is excellent close to trails, tourist attractions and city. We recommend to have a car. Overall we had an excellent experience.

Perfect place

This little village is perfect or viewing the region. It's easy to park by the church. The town is just few minutes drive away. Apartment is very clean, bathroom is huge and well equipped. There was some misunderstanding about towels, but the owner promptly provided towels (we didn't know we had to bring our own towels). Four of us had great time and plenty of space in this apartment. The owner is very friendly and she makes you feel like you know her for years. The neighbors are also very friendly. We would stay here again.

A wonderful stay at Alpenrose

We had a wonderful 5 days at Alpenrose. My wife and I are both over 65, so our introduction to Alpenrose was a bit scary. Alpenrose is about a 10 minute walk up a steep road from Grengiols, which is itself well above the teeny train station. But Anneliese and Ignaz (and their whole family - tres charmant) were super. GRENGIOLS = very pretty, very quiet, very nice. All the people we met were helpful and friendly. The ladies in the grocery store (and Tourism Office) helped us with groceries and wine and cheese. The local cheese, by the way is Incredibly good. The elderly lady who runs the restaurant (recommended by Ignaz) was well worth the visit - good food, pleasant atmosphere, cold beer, and a couple of local patrons helped us translate our English to German. Jawohl. BettmerAlp, RiederAlp, Oberwald, Brig, all within easy/fast train from Grengiols station. Zermatt, Spiez and Interlaken within an hour or two train ride through very beautiful country. We did not rent an auto, but it was very easy to get around wherever we wanted to go by train and/or bus. ALPENROSE = a nice apartment with beautiful views out of almost every window. A nicely equipped kitchen, very functional. Living room was super - TV, WiFi, DVD player, wood-burning stove (additional wood for the stove "Magically" appeared on our doorstep each day), mood lighting. Lovely walks everywhere, right from the front door, through flower covered hillsides. We ended several of our day trips by sitting on the courtyard or in the backyard, enjoying the views while having a bit of cheese, some sausage and a glass (or two?) of wine. ANNELIESE & IGNAZ = the best part of the whole vacation. Very interesting and friendly people who, along with their whole family, and even the other nearby villagers, are super! Anneliese was happy to drive us to&from the train station, picked up the heavy groceries we had bought in Grengiols so we wouldn't have to carry them uphill (We did carry our important items - Wine & Cheese, HaHa) and made our stay incredibly enjoyable. Merci, Danke, Gracias, Thank You. We had a teeny problem with the WiFi (occasionally it would drop my connection) which Anneliese got fixed right away. One of our best vacations ever. We loved it, and hope to come back sometime to enjoy it again. Tony and Merrily

Für mich war der Aufenthalt genau das, was ich mir gewünscht habe! Ruhig und idyllisch, in der Natur, gemütlich eingerichtet. Die Kommunikation mit den Gastgebern war herzlich und respektvoll zugleich. Sie halfen mir sogar aus, wenn ich meine gesundheitlichen Bedürfnisse nicht ganz selbst erfüllen konnte - das ist nicht selbstverständlich und ich bin sehr dankbar. Ich gehe sehr gerne wieder nach Grengiols!

Leuke plek om te verblijven, in een oud dorpje waar je ook 'tussen de locals zit'.

Heerlijke tijd gehad, zeer gastvrij ontvangen, schitterende omgeving bij de gletsjers. Huisje was basic maar had alles wat we nodig hadden, fijne tuintjes erbij!

Wohlfühlen in Grengiols

Wir haben bei Anneliese eine Woche mit unseren 3 Enkelkindern verbracht. Die Wohnung hat alles, was man braucht (bis auf die Spülmaschine, aber selbst das spülen hat Spaß gemacht). Anneliese ist sehr herzlich und durch nichts aus der Ruhe zu bringen - und wir haben sie auf die Probe gestellt mit unseren Rackern! Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Vielen Dank, Anneliese!

Urige, gemütliche Ferienwohnung in Grengiols

Wir haben während unseres Skiurlaubs nach den Weihnachtstagen in der Ferienwohnung gewohnt. Das historische Holzhaus mit Kaminofen bietet ein sehr uriges und gemütliches Ambiente. Die Wohnung ist umfangreich ausgestattet. Als wir dennoch etwas benötigten, hat sich die sehr herzliche Vermieterin sofort darum gekümmert. Wir haben eine schöne Zeit verlebt und uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Echt Zwitsers! Heerlijk huisje in mooie omgeving.

31.12.2022 - 07.01.2023 skivakantie. Een prima locatie voor een weekje wintersport in de Aletsch Arena. We namen elke ochtend de bus vanaf Grengiols treinstation naar Betten of Fiesch. Ski's in depot boven op de berg. Heel praktisch en goed georganiseerd! Super mooi en familievriendelijk gebied met diverse uitzichtpunten op de gletscher. Wij hadden prachtig weer en prima sneeuw. Fantastisch! Jammer, dat er geen sneeuw bij het huisje lag. Hopelijk een volgende keer..... ?! Contact met Anneliese verliep heel fijn en goed. Ze gaf vooraf alle benodigde info en tips. Huisje van alle gemakken voorzien. Leuk gehucht in mooie, rustige omgeving met een winkeltje voor een boodschapje of brood. Verder genoeg winkels in Fiesch. Zeker een aanrader voor een weekje wintersport met het gezin!

Authentiek huis en ruime tuin

Het huis was voor twee personen heel ruim. Wij hebben genoten van de tuin achter het huis. Het weer was heerlijk! De gastvrouw en gastheer waren heel prettig in de omgang. Wij hebben twee heerlijke weken ervaren in Grengiols!

Erholung im Weiler

Family of 5 and a dog from the UK

We are a family of five and a dog and we had a brilliant holiday at Alpenrose. Anneliese is a wonderful host and made all of us feel so welcome and offered lots of great advice on the local area and beyond. The accommodation is based in a fantastic location with many lovely walks direct from the door and very easy to get to the Aletsch Glacier and the Binntal national park. We had a car but also used public transport (get the Landschaftspark Binntal park pass) as the Grengiols train station is about a 25 minute walk. We enjoyed every day, but some highlights were the Aletsch Glacier (go from Fiesch up to Eggishorn for great early views before the crowds), walking back from Binn through the Twingi gorge (get the train from Grengiols to Fiesch then bus to Binn (Anneliese’s tip)) and walking across the Goms bridge to explore Ernen and Mühlebach. We need to come back again and bring our bikes next time as there are so many exciting bike trails. Totally recommended!

Gastvrijheid

Een heerlijk verblijf gehad in het mooie Wallis. Wat vooral bijblijft is de warmte en gastvrijheid van Anneliese. Alles is te vragen communicatie verloopt erg prettig en er is veel informatie te vinden voor je verblijf. Je verblijft in een kleine gemeenschap maar hebt er toch alle rust. Een aanrader!
