We loved the lodge itself, and we're glad we were warned beforehand to have 4x4 to get to the property. That driveway is definitely rugged to say the least! But overall it was a pleasant stay.
If you're looking to experience the jungle, this is your place. It's an adventure just to get to the house and well worth it. We woke up to the sound of howler monkeys one morning and had 2 spider monkeys swinging through the trees the next. The home itself is beatiful with an amazing view of the jungle. We would definelty recommend.
Arrowhead lodge was amazing! It was a little difficult to get to the property because of major rainstorms and the fact that we were trying to locate it in the dark but the directions provided were great! I don't know if we could have made it without a high clearance vehicle and 4 wheel drive. It rained most of our stay and we did get stuck in the mud once but it was all part of the adventure! The views were AMAZING!! We were woken up by howler monkeys one night and they howled for about an hour which was awesome to experience! Dean was an awesome host and great at communicating before and during our stay! The only "complaint" we had was that some of the blankets don't fit the beds they were on. This wasn't an issue in the master bedroom but those staying in the second bedroom said it got cold during the night and the covers didn't cover both people. There were a few extra blankets in the third bedroom that were used but they were thin and small as well. Make sure you try Pops restaurant in town and get their stewed chicken!! It was the best we had in all of Belize. We will definitely recommend this property to all of our friends and we hope to visit again someday!
Beautiful property with breath-taking views. Super well maintained and secluded for those that want to just relax and enjoy the jungle. Owner was very good at communicating. Not much of a road to get there...don't recommend trying to find it at night the first time. If you don't rent a 4-wheel drive pick-up do not attempt to stay there. Owner was good for highly recommending that! Would not have made it otherwise. 3.3 miles on road and another .3 miles up private drive takes 25 minutes from town. We loved it once we got there just factor the dirt/rock/mud roads into your plans. Beautifully built home!
Arrowhead Lodge 1 offers an incredibly immersive experience. Despite seeing the pictures and watching the video prior, we were not prepared for the elation we felt as we walked through the doors. We have great admiration for Dean's vision and what he invested to make it a reality. Looking over the treetops in nothing short of breath taking.
Beyond the lodge itself, Dean has stellar communication and provides thorough documentation.
Our only regret is we were unable to stay in the home for longer.
If you're planning on renting a 4WD/AWD vehicle, and make time to take in the view, we highly recommend staying here!
The lodge is tucked in the jungle and offers a beautiful peek into the wilderness that covers Belize. The house is fairly new, well-made and offers a great space for a group traveling together. We found the place well-equip and LOVED the large patio. We saw howler monkeys and toucan from it!
A few things to note when booking this—while it's only a few miles from the city, the road is fairly rough and takes some careful driving to get to it. Make sure that you have a vehicle that you're confident can make that trek. Also prepare for longer bits of time out and about, it's probably not a place that you'll pop in and out of throughout the day.
