Kalinya Estate is an Australian Colonial, heritage-listed, luxury Estate; offering exclusive high-end accommodation at a private acreage for groups. With sporting, musical and recreation facilities catering to guests of all ages, it offers opportunities for work, relaxation, entertainment and more. The Estate’s accommodation features three separate buildings, The Homestead, The Lodge and The Barn, all of which are a short stroll from each other through the gardens. All three spaces have been magnificently restored, with all of the quality modern updated fixtures you need. Kalinya Estate is a private venue, taking only one group at a time.

‘The Homestead’ is one of few original Australian Colonial Mansions- 1860's Victorian Georgian. This house is where all of the guests staying on the estate gather to share meals, due to the large entertaining spaces.
'The Lodge' was the original medical centre for the whole region- originally name Emohruo.
'The Barn' was originally used to build submarines and after that was used to care for champion dressage horses.

Kalinya Estate is located in the rural town of Bargo within the Wollondilly and welcomes its guests on the land of the Dharawal people. We aim to honour their culture and love for the environment, whilst showing respect to their elders past, present and emerging. ‘Kalinya’ is itself an Aboriginal word, which translates to ‘good, beautiful and honest’; the intention at Kalinya being to reflect these words in conduct and interactions.

Kalinya Estate is entirely unique because of the high end sporting and musical offerings. There is plenty to do for everyone, no matter what the weather is. In the squash court, you can play racquetball, squash or handball. There is a 17m fully tiled heated pool and a therapeutic hot tub. Use the gym, foosball, billiards, table tennis, air hockey, or vintage arcade games. There is a piano lounge with a concert grand piano. Enjoy the ducks, chickens, orchard, and natural pond ecosystem.

The Homestead offers elegant large estate living with vast wrap around verandahs, grand high ceilings, and beautiful vintage finishes. Patterned cornice and artworks hanging on picture rails adorn every room.

Gorgeous polished Blue Gum timber floors grace the living areas creating a natural country feel.

The Homestead includes a grand family/ dining room that is designed for large gatherings with large slow combustion fireplace.

The spacious formal lounge rooms have a grand but cozy atmosphere with a baby grand piano, extensive book collection, large TV, Bluetooth music system, board games and a huge open fireplace.

We have a well-appointed gourmet kitchen inside. Outside, the Homestead enjoys private undercover outdoor entertaining facilities including a top of the range built in Weber BBQ and huge commercial Vesuvio Wood Fired Pizza oven.

Feel pampered and relaxed using the outdoor spa/hot tub area or chill out beside the tranquil pond and the outdoor fire pit.

Enjoy a game of tennis or basketball on the Tennis Court or a dip in the 17m heated swimming pool (heated from October 1st through to April 30th). Have a drink and a chat in the stunning pool house. Tire out the kids on the trampoline, swing set and large outdoor chessboard.

Chooks and quail wander the property and munch on food scraps. Our ducks and geese enjoy visits at the dam or pond. Our pond natural ecosystem is home to our Koi and is definitely worthy of exploring.

Kalinya Estate is made up of 6 acres of award winning gardens and high end facilities; including tennis court, basketball, 17m heated swimming pool, therapeutic spa and outdoor games. Luxury accommodation for up to 26 guests is located in the 2 grand and beautifully appointed houses. Both 'The Heritage Homestead' and 'The Luxury Lodge' have their own signature features and style showcasing some of the finest examples of Australian colonial architecture and craftsmanship in the district.

THE LUXURY LODGE - 10 People-

The Lodge was built in the 1850’s and was originally the nurse quarters for the area. It has been lovingly restored and renovated retaining timber floors throughout and beautiful historic features while adding modern functionality and style for guests to enjoy.

The Lodge has four luxury bedrooms each with individual ensuites and smart TVs. Bedrooms 1, 2, 3 & 5 have King Beds. Bedroom 4 has a Queen Bed. All beds have beautiful 1000TC linen.

All bedrooms are furnished with unique antiques, vintage sideboards and leadlight French doors.

We have a fully equipped Caesarstone kitchen including large Ilve oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee plunger and stovetop espresso percolator.

The large home theatre has a 75-inch screen connected to Netflix, a vintage VHS movie collection, a huge book collection, board games and a Bluetooth music system.

We have reverse cycle air conditioning to all living areas. The main living room has soaring ceilings, exposed beams and an open fireplace.

There is a large undercover entertaining deck that opens out to the beautiful gardens including an alfresco dining area with built-in BBQ and grand outdoor fireplace.

The Lodge offers the perfect place to relax and unwind.

When you book to stay at Kalinya Gardens, you will have exclusive use of the 6 acres and the properties facilities- pool, tennis court, therapeutic hotter/spa, swings, trampoline, chess and games. There will be no additional bookings during your stay. The property is maintained and monitored by the owners and some grounds staff, who you may see during your stay.
