11 acre mid-century estate, newly renovated, seasonally available pool.
Rare 11 acre private estate close to the center of town. Designed by renowned NYC architect David Todd in the late 60s, this late mid-century home comfortably hosts two families in two separate suites with ample common space and kitchen. The home has recently undergone extensive renovations and features new hardwood flooring throughout, new painting, new lighting, and 3 gut-renovated bathrooms (Spring '19).
The house features two separate suites, each with a full bath, perfect for two couples or two families. The large kitchen overlooks the sweeping view of the mountains across 11 acres of private fields and forests. The spacious dining room and living rooms feature high vaulted ceilings, clerestory windows, and 2-ton granite mantel and hearth fireplace, and an adjacent den serves as a cozy retreat.
Note: The pool is available seasonally, usually late May to early September. The pool is unheated, and opening and closing dates vary a little bit each year based on availability of the pool company, so please check with me if you are renting near the beginning or end of the season and hope to use the pool.

A beautiful and peaceful home. We enjoyed swimming in the pool, hiking the property and relaxing in the house while taking in the expansive mountain views. Great location and Aaron was a perfect host.

Thanks for the great review, Jennifer. So glad you and your family enjoyed your time together. Come back any time!
A great property, fantastic house, patio and pool, just minutes from Williams College/ downtown Williamstown. Check-in was easy, linens and towels were included. The 3 full baths are very nicely updated and all furniture in living room, den and dining room is appropriately mid-century yet comfortable. The main spaces LR, DR, entry hall /gallery are like a mid-mod design exhibit in a museum.
We had an excellent stay at this midcentury house on a lovely property . The living room is beautifully designed and the master bedroom is particularly large and comfortable . The pool is delightful!
Beautiful house in a stunning location with breathtaking views! The house is perfectly appointed and very comfortable! What a pleasure and privilege it was to be guests at this very special home!
Sitting in the living room overlooking Pine Cobble was sublime.
The 2 weeks we spent were completely relaxing. We
Saw a family of wild turkeys, a fox, deer, and several rabbits. The pool was perfect. We had dinner outside. It’s a fabulous house in an A+ location.

Beautiful & spacious Home provided a perfect weekend stay for our group of 7 adults attending a wedding in Williamstown. Owner was attentive and responded immediately. Close to everything, but very private setting with beautiful views of the Berkshires!

Thanks for the generous review, Peggy! Glad your group enjoyed their stay at our place.
Had a great weekend away with my mother, husband, and daughter who is 11 months old. Aaron was amazingly responsive to any and all questions we had. Property was lovely, clearly loved and well maintained. Was a wonderful place to get away and relax but was also VERY close to williamstown and north adams for restaurants and activities. Was very baby and grandparent friendly!
Great Location, Beautiful Grounds and Plenty of Room
Great mid-century home in fabulous location just outside of Williamstown. Beautiful gardens and acreage surrounding the home with a sparkling pool. Pool was great on the one very hot day that we were there and then enjoyed the fireplace when things cooled off for the rest of our stay. Home shows some signs of aging but overall, still a 5 star rating.
The property is beautiful and location was perfect for graduation. The pool was lovely to relax by. Plenty of space for a group of 8. We were a little surprised to find so many personal items in the bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen, even though we understood that it is a second home. As others have noted, house is showing some wear and a bit quirky as it is 1960's architect-designed. Host was great with communications.
The pictures don't do this magical property justice
We rented this beautiful property for four weeks. We are a family of 4 and had close family and friends join on the weekends. The layout of the house is perfect for two families. The views are stunning. Complete privacy. Aaron was very responsive. We loved everything about our stay and hope to return!

Thanks for the great review, Nicolle. We're so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay!
We enjoyed our stay immensely. The grounds are beautiful, private, and scenic, yet only a 3-minute drive to town. The house is laid out to work well for a family group. It was well stocked, and everything worked. The owner's detailed instructions were quite appreciated. It might seem expensive, but well worth it. We hope to return next year.
The house was built for a college dean. The house definitely has a minimalist mid-century vibe and decor. But the bathrooms and bedrooms are full updated. There are spectacular views of Pine Cobble and the whole house is light and airy. It really is just 5 minutes from campus.
It was an optimal base for graduation weekend and allowed some of our party to stay around the house while others were on campus. The only challenge was a lack of black-out shades in the smaller bedrooms.
The host provided lots of information and made himself available for questions. As we were only in town for a few days, it was all pretty straightforward.
This house was perfect for our family --ease of access to many cultural activities in the area while providing a peaceful sense of being away from it all. Trips to the Clark and Mass MOCA were so easy, while it was a joy to walk down Spring Street to eat at the local pub and enjoy great ice cream. food shopping is a breeze with the Wild Oats Cooperative market and Stop and Shop supermarket less than 10 minutes away. The lovely (and very clean) pool provided a welcome relaxing interlude from hiking and touring the area. The house itself is situated on a hill, with fantastic views. The two wings of the house provided an element of privacy for our son's family and ourselves. Finally, Aaron is a great host, very responsive to all of our requests.
A lovely, interesting, well equipped, centrally located to Berkshire attractions place to stay. The owners were wonderfully communicative - beautiful pool an added plus. Lots of fun nature surrounding you as well.
Great combo of serene & beautiful setting with easy access to Williams
It worked perfectly for our stay centered around activities at Williams. Easy drive for anything in town, and magical when we were just sitting enjoying the views, pool -- and wildlife (including bears, deer, and rabbits while we were there!). Great space for spreading out eg for remote work.
Thanks for the review, Abby. I'm so glad you enjoyed your month in Williamstown!
About the host
Hosted by AARON KECHLEY
We purchased this unique and special home as a family getaway from our busy schedules in Newton, MA where Sarah and Aaron live with their 4 daughters. Aaron is originally from Williamstown, went to Williams College, and works as a tech executive in Boston. Sarah is a physician at the Harvard hospitals. We all love coming to Williamstown to spend time as a family and enjoy the quiet and outdoors.
Why they chose this property
There are no other properties like this one in town -- the combination of privacy, central location, 11 acre property, and architect David Todd's mid-century design are truly unique.
What makes this property unique
Stunning views, absolute privacy yet close to town, with a swimming pool, and 2 private suites.
