The property is gated, semi-complete but habitable, with a fully equipped kitchen and used for the family's occasional weekend getaway. It is surrounded by almost half an acre of landscaped grounds, fairly quiet, with views of the surrounding terrain. The approach to the house is from a short, rugged dirt-road right off the main road to Kaki Thalassa, and access to the beach can be by car - or foot. Please note that the house is fairly remote, therefore a car or other personal transport is a must for getting around, sightseeing and obtaining supplies. The house is fully-kitted for long-term occupation, it has functional solar/electric water-heating and double-glazed windows and veranda doors. However, it is a work in progress and as such, there's no TV or landline, as well as no railings to the verandas - which could make it a hazard to unsupervised children. Pets are most welcome and hopefully don't mind sharing the territory with our three resident cats.
Please check the house's position on the map's SATELLITE images to get an idea of the location. It offers relatively short access to ATH airport, Porto Rafti, Port Lavrio, and Cape Sounio. Athens centre is about 45km away. There's a bakery/grocery store about 3 km before you reach the house (on the main route to Kaki Thalassa), but you can also find supermarkets and a variety of other shops in Keratea town, which is about 7km away. The beachfront is presented in a smaller and larger bay with organized and roaming sections where you can partake in swimming, snorkelling, beach tennis and spearfishing - as long as you have the gear. Operating during the summer season are three tavernas, an open-air cinema, a couple of kiosks with basic consumables and a beach bar/cafeteria. The bay is accessible either by car from the main road (longer route - about 2km), or by foot through the olive tree grounds (a straighter route - about 700m - which requires walking down the hill from the house’s side).
