Outstanding hosts. Clean, quiet, simple spot close enough to town to access essentials and far enough away to escape and unwind. Stayed for several weeks while moving between homes and could not have suited our needs any better. Pack like you are camping off grid for a couple days and you feel you are living a life of pure luxury!
This place was exactly what we had in mind to escape the city noise. We loved the beautiful large area to walk our dogs. The host provided helpful information and driving directions in advance. We wish we could have stayed longer!
This old farm house was off the beaten path surrounded by beautiful rolling hills and nice farm land. The house itself is surrounded by trees so you can't see the hosts home, however it is quite close. Wediscovere
Loved the quietness and the “get away from everything”. The friendly black cat who went with us on our walks, all the while telling us about her successes in hunting just added to the joy. The owner provided wood and we made a fire in the fire pit at night, listening to the silence and the occasional cry of coyotes, while watching the harvest moon rising. Magic.
This place was everything we wanted and needed. Unplug, unwind and relax.
Owners were absolutely incredible and provided all the privacy we needed, and provided an amazing experience. Best time ever!
We really enjoyed our weekend vacation. Communicating with the hosts was easy and they provided us with excellent instructions before check-in. We met the hosts when we arrived and they were lovely. The house was comfortable and exactly what we needed for a weekend away from the city. We have two dogs and they had a great time as well! We brought extra bedding and covers because the pups like to sneak onto any couch they see and we’re glad we did! We would definitely go back for another stay!
We had a lovely time at the cabin; it rained one entire day and our teenagers were forced to find things to do that did not involve their phones. I am happy to report that we all found it restful and enjoyed our time...even the teenagers.
The cabin is only a short drive from Buffalo Lake, which made for a convenient day trip.
Took my 2 grandkids and my two small dogs. Grandkids said they would really like to do it again soon (even tho no wifi or TV). We had a really nice time. Less than 1/2 hour to Buffalo Lake beaches, 6 kittens under the porch, and a calf that would run to greet the kids if they walked to the fence. Stars at night were amazing!
Our stay in this cabin was very nice. It was a cozy cabin and Ernest was a fabulous host who was great when we wanted solitude and even more fabulous when we interacted with him or had any concerns. The addition of a few things such as better cooking appliances would just add to its enjoyment. The surrounding area was beautiful farm and ranch land and Stettler was only 15 to 20 minutes away. We enjoyed Buffalo lake provincial park and found the lake and beach beautiful. I think the addition of a binder with information on places to eat and buffalo lake ass well as other activities or sights to see would be beneficial to those who stay here. Thanks Ernest and Angela. Jeff
My rating online for description was lower then the other ones strictly on direction given. Directions given were alittle off but, once you type in the listing its a easy find.
The lady on the lawn mower, not sure if she owned the place but extremely helpful and very nice. The cat, as we labelled security, was a nice visitor as was the random cow that watched us in the evenings
This place is definitely a gem. Feels like your back in the Little House on the Praire days(quoted by my kids )A place you would want to go if your looking for a escape from the world. Its calm, relaxing and just beautful. Cant get over on how much i adored the set up. Bring your own water, as the water provided has a bit of a gasy residue on it.
We will definitely be returning in August if there is opening!!!!Thanks for a good time!!! See you again.soon!!!
There were 4 of us and we enjoyed 3 nights and days at this beautiful little, out of the way guest cabin. It's an older cabin but has so much charm and character. Two bedrooms upstairs for 4 people, perfect. Beds are really comfy. The stairs are narrow, but other than than, we totally enjoyed our stay. The Hosts were very kind and very accommodating. Everything we needed was in the BnB and if there was something missing, they bought it over. Thank you for a fun stay.
We had a great stay here. It was wonderful to have such a peaceful and quiet property to unwind on and reconnect with each other. We saw cute calves, a friendly kitty, a tiny hummingbird, very busy, buzzy bees and a fireball in the gorgeous night sky! We met and had very interesting conversation with the hosts friendly father Ernst and his lovely brother from Switzerland.
The farm house is a little rough around the edges, but the bed is very comfy and there is lots of hot, soft water. The stairs to the bedrooms are very steep so might not be appropriate for some people. The property is a ways away from town, and partly on a gravel road - so plan to bring some supplies so you can enjoy the property more.
We hope to make a trip back here again, when we need another good recharge!
We wanted a couple of days to get away with our dogs & be off the grid. This was just perfect. The cottage is super cute & the hosts were super friendly. Can’t wait to book again for next spring!
This cute little cottage was exactly what my family and I needed! The birds singing, the beautiful scenery just made me unwind and forget about work for a few days. Our dog absolutely loved the freedom to run around and she found the baby calf very fascinating! Thank you Angela and family for welcoming us to your little oasis ❤️
We had a wonderful four days at this hidden gem! The location is spectacular and hidden away from the main roads - great if you’re looking for peace and quiet. The house was comfortable, cozy and well equipped with everything we needed, and even had some books and games we enjoyed. Our teenage kids especially enjoyed hanging out in the barnyard with the cows! We’ll definitely be back to this beautiful prairie property when in need of some R’n’R!
Our stay lasted for 5 wonderful days. Left alone with no schedule, internet or TV it was the perfect break. This rural cottage located on the owners farm was completely private with the only visitor being one very friendly farm dog and cat, an added bonus that we thoroughly enjoyed. The owners were a joy to deal with and available for whatever we needed.
A beautiful setting in the peace of the Alberta heartland. This farm house stay was filled with quite and relaxation amid the crowing of a rooster and the mooing of cows. A short drive from Stettler this farmhouse offered a restful getaway to relax and unwind. The Firepit was a welcome and frequently used amenity. Rustic charmer is how I would best describe this property. Our pet was right at home with plenty of room to run around. If you are looking for a quite getaway in the country this fits the bill.
