About this property
Step right up, step right up! Welcome to the grand, the unique, the unparalleled
Step right up, step right up! Welcome to the grand, the unique, the unparalleled experience of Milwaukee's Upper East Side! Not another AKAI showplace. Filled with QUALITY furnishings, art, music and games.
Picture this: a Victorian masterpiece, where the exquisite woodworking was produced by another unsung artisan. It's the cherry on top of the architectural sundae, the final polish on the silver spoon of luxury living. The house would challenge the ultimate hide-and-seek champion, with more nooks and crannies than a master magician's hat!
Four fireplaces! And those 10' ceilings? They're not just tall, they're NBA draft tall.
Now, let's mosey on into to the first floor, where the kitchen is so large, you could host a dance-off between chefs. The parlor entryway? It's got a grand staircase that's just begging for a dramatic entrance....many wedding parties use it for photos. And the den, living room, dining room, and full bath are just waiting for your life's sitcom to unfold.
Ascend to the second floor, where the bedrooms are so spacious, you could play hide and seek and not be found for days. The windows are so large, even the sun needs sunglasses. Many guests love how comfortable they are.
The third floor's got character with a capital 'C'—from futons that have seen more sleepovers than a teen movie to the 7 dormers that give the place more angles than a geometry textbook.
Don't forget the basement, now with a brand spanking new bathroom and a rec room that's got more games than an arcade. Bedroom 9 is the newest edition-fit with a queen (bed that is!)
The front yard's so picturesque, Norman Rockwell's ghost might just come by to paint it. And that circular porch? It's the international station for relaxation—coffee, tea, wine, beer, or mystery beverage, all are welcome.
The backyard's got a patio that's ready for your culinary masterpieces, and a maple tree that's just begging for a rope swing.
You're a stone's throw away from everything—Newberry Blvd, Lake Michigan (Bradford beach), Lake Park (golf, tennis, hiking, biking, baseball, frisbee), Downer Ave, and enough coffee shops to keep you caffeinated for a millennium. (Maybe Downer Ave should be renamed...Upper Ave??)
This isn't just a house; it's a slice of history, a piece of the pie that is Milwaukee's crème de la crème neighborhoods. ONE OF THE TOP FIVE NEIGHBORHOODS ON AMERICA:S HISTORIC REGISTER!!!
So, if you're looking to tie the knot, gather the clan, visit a festival, have a guys or gals weekend or just kick it with pals, this is the HOTSPOT. But act fast, because like the best slice of pizza at the party, it's going fast, and you don't want to be left with the box.
MILWAUKEE-MILWAUKEE-SMALLWAUKEE!!!
If you're looking to explore Milwaukee's Upper East Side, prepare for an adventure that's as rich in culture as it is in cheese curds! Start your day with a caffeine kick from one of the local coffee shops, where the beans are as freshly roasted as the morning gossip. Then, why not take a stroll through the Milwaukee Art Museum, where the art is modern, but the ability to understand it is timeless? If you're feeling the need for speed (and history), rev up your engines at the Harley-Davidson Museum, where you'll find more leather than at a cowboy convention.
For those who prefer the stage to the open road, the Miramar Theatre awaits with its eclectic mix of shows – it's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get, but it's always a sweet surprise. And if you're in the mood to create your own masterpiece, Snapshot 414 offers paint and pottery classes where the only limit is your imagination (and perhaps your artistic ability).
As the sun sets, the East Side's culinary scene lights up. From dive bars where the beer flows like the Milwaukee River to upscale eateries where the dress code requires more than just your favorite sports jersey, there's a flavor for every palate. And let's not forget about Brady Street, where the vibe is as vibrant as a neon sign and the food is as diverse as the city itself.
But wait, there's more! If you're a bookworm, Boswell Book Co. is your literary haven, offering a quiet escape and a chance to bump elbows with fellow readers. And for the fashion-forward, Bandit MKE is the go-to for sustainable style that won't break the bank – or the planet.
So, whether you're a history buff, art aficionado, foodie, or just looking to soak in the local charm, Milwaukee's Upper East Side has a little something for everyone. Just remember to pack your sense of humor alongside your walking shoes – you'll need both to fully enjoy the quirky, quaint, and quintessentially Milwaukee experiences that await! 🧀🎨📚🍻

This spot was great for so many reasons, tons of beds/bedrooms, location was amazing, host was super helpful, and the house has so much old-school character.
Had a blast in MKE and plenty of credit goes to our lodging.
Perfect for a long weekend with a lot of people. House has incredible history and character and is in a gorgeous neighborhood close to parks and beach. Host was easy going and responsive.
Amazing historic home in a lovely neighborhood on the east side of Milwaukee. Perfect for our family gathering. We enjoyed “hosting” our family for Marquette graduation weekend!
The house was beautiful and we got to meet Keith He gave us some background on the house which was very interesting. Our group had a great time and would definitely recommend this house Hope to be back !
Perfect for our family and celebration of 80 years
Great communication and flexibility by owner. It had everything we needed to celebrate 80th bday. Definitely recommend for your next family gathering!!
Our Family (Grand Parents, Parents, and Adult Children, (82-26 years old) stayed here for a weekend to attend a Cousin's wedding at the nearby Hubbard Lodge. It was a perfect location and gathering place. We loved the home and there was plenty of sleeping space, enough bathrooms, and a great kitchen! I would highly reccommend for a group.

Great location
The house was very roomy and lots of places to hang out with family and friends. It was awesome that it was close to the lake. The owner had forgotten we were coming and didn’t have the refrigerator cleaned out and our check-in process was a little awkward because we didn’t have the keypad information.
Very nice property near lake and great neighborhood walking. Close enough to walk to some meals or coffee shops.
Owner, Keith, is wonderful to work with! He was very responsive to messages with questions.
Our extended family gathered in this home for an old-fashioned Christmas. There was plenty of room for everyone. The house was charming and well-equipped. The neighborhood was nice and within walking distance to the lake.
Great play to stay if you're traveling with a large group or family. The house is large and spacious - lots of room for kids to roam and play. Many large bedrooms and never felt cramped with 11 guests.
The house is old and shows - doors don't always close fully, bathrooms are functional but dated, and everything creaks - but it's charming and the Victorian detailing is unique.
This historic home has many thoughtful touches. It was great for our group. Will be even better when the basement bathroom is complete. Keith is very responsive and it's obvious he takes pride in the property and the work that he has put into it.

Why they chose this property
I have lived in the amazing historic neighborhood for most of my life and this house was always one of my favorites. When the "For Sale" sign went up, I jumped on it...I'm thrilled to be the 7th owner of this historic home, and since May 19, 2019 many, many upgrades and remodels have been made on the house. The day after I bought the house I had all the old oak floors sanded and refinished (beautiful).
The original 3rd floor hadn't been used for decades (4 bedrooms used for storage) I repaired all the third floor bedrooms walls, and windows and freshly painted them. A new HVAC system was installed for the second and third floor and new wall to wall carpet was installed. ***The 3rd new bathroom is complete!! ***Kitchen upgrades have been made, new floor, countertops, sinks, new high end stove/ Oven, butcher block peninsula and a wine / coffee bar! ***The front porch as been rebuilt and the gorgeous tiger oak front door was stripped, sanded and refinished. ***New period light fixtures
I have rebuilt several east side homes and do my best to keep everything close to the period (while including modern features.)
My guests are amazed at the space, and historic features!!
What makes this property unique
Uniqueness starts on the outside. Classic dormers (10 total), arched windows, oval windows, bay windows, 45 degree corner windows and stained glass windows!!!
A SEMI ROUND PORCH WITH FLUTED COLUMNS!!! Very RARE
The 8ft front doors will lead you into a woodworkers dream parlor that even has a fireplace. The staircase is grand and the details almost overwhelming.
This is just the beginning. When people come in the house they want a tour? Yes a tour is inline with this masterpiece.
Your most unique benefit? Make it your home and enjoy it!!!!
