Beautiful Drag Lake. Beach, dock, hot tub and fire pit. Flat lot.
This beautiful winterized lakefront property is situated less than 10 min from the town of Haliburton. It is on a flat property with a large grass lawn, a isandy beach and a long dock for deeper swimming and relaxing. There is also a paddle boat, canoe and 2 kayaks for trips around the lake. The cottage has perfect exposure and gets sun all day long plus a 6 seater hot tub (open all year) on the deck or a fire pit to enjoy the evenings. We have also added to the property a beautiful screened in porch for those times during the summer when you want fresh air but prefer to be out of the sun. The lake is known for its fishing and is one of the nicer lakes in the area. The main cottage was fully renovated in 2024. It has 4 bedrooms, an office and 1 1/2 bathrooms and can sleep 8. The fully winterized brand new bunkie has another two bedrooms and an additional bathroom which can sleep another 3. We have excellent wifi if you need to work and a large flat screen tv with Netflix, and cable included. There is a second smaller tv in one of the cottage bedrooms. An additional TV is also in the bunkie. All of the bedrooms have blackout curtains to ensure you sleep well. We also have recently installed AC for those hot summer nights. We do have a washer / dryer available for week long stays. The cottage is well equipped for kids with 2 pack and plays, a couple high chairs, children’s indoor table for crafts and outdoor small picnic table just for them. We also have have a small child’s slide which can be moved to the beach to make a small water slide for the kids. There is also a large enclosed trampoline for more fun! The kitchen is well equipped with every cooking utensil you would need during your stay. The water is drinkable so no need to lug up extra. We have a brand new kitchen with dishwasher and an additional beverage fridge. Everything you would need for an enjoyable stay! The bunkie also has a bar fridge/bar sink, microwave and a Keurig machine so you can relax in the morning and enjoy your coffee without heading to main cottage. The yard is fenced in also. All in all it is the perfect spot for your vacation. In the winter plan an ice fishing or skidooing day or head to Sir Sam’s which is about 20 min away for a ski day. Multiple different routes to get up to Haliburton. No need to sit in the traffic on the 400

Quiet and serene lake. More than sufficient amenities. Smooth check in and check out process. All information required from property owner provided either through VRBO or contained within the cottage. Highly recommended.
We all really enjoyed the cottage on Drag lake. Easy to find . Close to town . Sondra was always quick to respond for questions. Everything we needed for cooking and BBQ and the hot tub and Netflix's was a nice bonus . Thanks for the lovely week. The Ricks
Loved the location and the check in process was easy.
Bed coverings did not appear clean although owner had told us to bring our own and I'm happy we did. Did not appear to have been cleaned since last rented. Would have preferred to not see any coverings on the beds.
Rest of home was as advertised.
We were a group of 7 adults spending a few days over NYE. The place was very clean and the layout of the cottage was ideal. Large living/dining with the very bedrooms separate from the communal area. The winterized bunkie was perfect and great for additional privacy. We’d love to come back again in the winter and summer!
The cottage was perfectly listed. What you see is what you get. It was so beautiful. Would recommend
The property was absolutely beautiful. I had taken some amazing photos of a lake in the early morning with the fog still lingering in the scenery. The lake front was stunning with all the Fall colors. The dock was big enough for all of us to sit out and enjoy the view. The lake waters were low so we couldn't do any boating, but we didn't mind at all. The cottage was perfect with ample parking. I would definately recommend.
Couldn't be happier with our stay... location is perfect. Just outside of town. The waterfront and dock are epic and perfect for suntanning, swimming, or just watching the water. Great firepit, nice property, good privacy. The house is a cottage with a 'cottage' vibe - exactly what you want for a summer getaway. We BBQ'd every day. Thanks so much - we had a wonderful time.
Very easy check in process. Great place! Well equipped (board games, kayak, paddle boat, fire pit etc). Loved the dock and being on the lake! Thank you for a great stay!
Loved, loved, loved our time at your cottage - had great dinners together easily prepared in the kitchen, went into the very close and convenient town for breakfasts at the Kozy Korner, and had a lovely, relaxing reading time in the sun on the deck on Saturday afternoon - just what we all needed! Thank you!

Bunk bed is not for adults. Acces is almost impossible.
As guests, we were made to drive 10min to a dump site to throw away the garbade althought the property had locked bin outside. Guests shouldn't have to do it. I find it disgusting to take the garbage in your car and drive for 10min.
Property was ok. A bit old. Views were awesome.
The property was exactly as stated. The host was professional, kind, prompt and was available when needed. Unfortunately one of our guests had done minor damage to the wall. The host and I were able to deal with the issue cordially and promptly without any conflict. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone who wishes to have a peaceful weekend away surrounded by nature. The hot tub was a bonus and having access to a fire pit and boat makes this an above average retreat location!
Due to increased lockdown restrictions in April, we had to re-schedule our original booking for the fall. Sondra was more than happy to approve the re-scheduling request and couldn’t have made it any easier. This cottage was a perfect spot for a fall getaway from the city for myself, my husband, friends and our senior dog. We used the jacuzzi and indoor fireplace every evening, and the space was perfect for just reading, doing puzzles, playing boardgames and just hanging out and enjoying each other’s company! The beds were comfy and there was enough privacy for two couples! We sat on the dock and enjoyed the view of fall colours and still waters. The kitchen has everything we needed to make all our meals - don’t forget to check the front closet for more things; we forgot to do that on our first night! Downtown Haliburton is a quick drive away for all essentials. We would love to come back in the summer as well as again next fall!
The cottage came as advertised. Lots of staples such as salt and pepper, sugar etc. There would be no reason that a full meal could not be prepared...cutlery, knives, etc. A huge bbq is there for outdoor cooking. The hot tub was great. Overall a fabulous experience for us.
Our family of 5 had a wonderful time at the cottage. Sondra was a great host, helpful and responding quickly to any questions we had. The cottage was very clean and comfortable, cozy but spacious, with a well-stocked kitchen. Outdoors we enjoyed the beautiful backyard with a firepit, hot tub, BBQ, and spacious dock. We rented a boat which was delivered to a boat launch just a few docks down from us, all very hassle free. We didn't use the bunkie, but it would be a great way to have another family there with you, or for anyone who needs their own space. Thanks Sondra, for sharing your place. We had a wonderful time and made precious memories!
The cottage and guest house are amazing! The rental was very well stocked and outfitted with everything you would need. It is very roomy with a lot of space to relax playing cards, watch a movie or have dinner indoors. It was clean when we arrived and we all felt very comfortable with the cleaning protocols in place.
The property is beautiful and flat which is rare for some lake properties. It has a separate beach and huge fire pit area as well as a really large dock where you can sit and listen to the sounds of the lake. We rented a boat and it was delivered to the boat launch that is just a 3 minute walk from the cottage.
The Lake is simply stunning. We have stayed at many lake locations and we all agreed that Drag Lake is the most beautiful. Everywhere you look you see green hills and calm water. It does not feel crowded as many cottages are hidden from view and was super quiet. It was small enough to feel cozy but large enough to spend the day with the kids on the tube having a blast behind the boat.
The Location is also great. It is a quick 10 minute drive to Haliburton so we were able to go into town for supplies, eat dinner out, grab an ice cream and tour the local sites.
The Host was fantastic. Sondra was so responsive and accommodating and this made our stay problem free.
Overall I would give this cottage higher than a 5 if I could. Thank you.
We had a great week! Sondra was very prompt with all communication. The property and lake did not disappoint! Everything as described! Thanks for a great week!
The first step in felt like coming home. The property is beautiful and the morning loon calls are magical. The cottage was well stocked and the perfect blend of modern and rustic. Very comfortable and relaxing. The location is close to amenities while still being quiet and secluded. If you’re lucky, deer will greet you on your drive in. Highly recommend this property.
We had an amazing visit. The location was clean and quiet. Sondra was very accommodating and prompt to reply to all questions. We will definitely be returning!
Property owner communicated info in a timely manner and responded to questions immediately. Property was excellent with all amenities available that we were looking for - access to lake, hot tub, BBQ, outdoor fire pit, wood stove inside and all accommodations were excellent.
My family and I had a great time snowmobiling on lake and around area trails with night time around the fire pit while we stayed at this location.
I would recommend this property to anyone.
Great place to stay will definitely be coming back!

About the host
Hosted by Sondra
Have always loved cottaging and finally decided to buy. Love to spend time up there with my husband, kids and grandkids.
Why they chose this property
I fell in love with the property as it is on a flat piece of land with a shallow and deep lake access to accommodate all ages. The cottage gets sun on the dock all day long and is on a quiet part of the lake. Easy access to the town of Haliburton. Well stocked and beautifully built cottage with the bunkie for extra guests or to allow the kids to have their own space in the summer months
What makes this property unique
Great roads, easy access, good parking. We also this year added a 3 season screened in porch which is great for eating, reading and playing games without disturbing those in the living room.
