Wonderful Florida Outdoor Stay

If you are into the Florida outdoors this is the place for you. Nature oriented, very clean, kid and family friendly place. The owner has thought of everything - there’s are games, everything you can think of in the kitchen. There is lot of exploring, we saw turkeys and deer the first day we arrived. Everyone loved our stay and We cannot wait to go back

Best time - can't wait to go back!

This vacation was one of the best that we have experienced. The house is cozy and has everything that you need and more. The kitchen has a vast variety of dishware, bakeware and utensils to cook the most complicated meal. For us, the location was great. The house itself is in a secluded area with shopping, restaurants and parks nearby. The walk to the Suwannee River was pleasant and great exercise for our dogs. We spent many hours on the deck reading and watching birds and deer. John, the host, was very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable about the area.

Great place, weather permitting

John is super nice and a great host. This home is well stocked. We had to cut our trip short, though had we been able to stay, we would want the river to be as nice as John. Our visit was after the hurricane, so the river was high and still much debris, which however, we did anticipate. John, thanks for your kindness! Chuck and Karen and Mav and Mandi, our pups!!

Perfect vacation

We had a wonderful stay at the Suwannee Cypress Cabin for the months of January and February. The cabin was very comfortable with everything we needed and things we didn’t even know we needed. We felt right at home as soon as opened the door. John is an attentive host. He gave us a tour of the cabin, gave us tips on where to buy what in the area, places to eat and shop, as well as so many points of interest. We highly recommend this place.

Great home with something for everyone!

Property is beautiful. Kids loved walking down to the river. We all enjoyed the trips to the two nearest springs by canoe. Owner's communication was awesome. A lot of thought was put in to the amenities (games, movies, campfire supplies, etc). We look forward to coming back to visit.

Great getaway

I booked this place after reading such great reviews. I completely agree with everyone’s raving comments. John made sure that everything anyone could need is at the cabin for our use. The property itself is great and includes a fun trail the dogs loved to walk and fire pits. I came on a colder weekend and while hesitant at first, I reached out to John and he gave me a list of recommendations that we followed. It was such a pleasant stay that we definitely want to come back. Thank you John for being such a welcoming and attentive host!

Amazing!

The property was beautiful with plenty of room with private boat dock. We brought our 22' pontoon boat. The ramp was only a couple of minutes away. There is an out door water park also a few minutes away. You can get to by car or boat. There are also springs that are a must see. John is awesome. You can tell he puts a lot of thought into the property and cares about what he does. We will definitely rent from hom property again. Maybe when it's a little cooler. :)

Away from it ALL! And it was great!!

My boyfriend and I spent Thanksgiving week at this wonderful cabin! The cabin is stocked with everything you could ever need! All you need is food. A big selection of movies and games for everyone. It was so peaceful sitting on the deck in the mornings and evenings listening to the wildlife and the rain. One early morning, we got a wake up call from a pack of wolves passing by, kind of freaked out at first because neither of us were use to it, but it was cool! Very secluded property. The owner was very kind and only comes around if you need him. We will definitely be coming back, next time with friends and family, and maybe our dogs! ;) Thank you very much for letting us stay in your awesome cabin. =)

A little piece of heaven!

The property was beautiful, the place was clean and organized and fully stocked with every necessity you can think of and so many games and recreation. And John (the host) was so gracious and kind, and so helpful in terms of helping us figure out fun things for my family and I to do. The cabin is situated on such a beautiful piece of land right on the river which he provides canoes and kayaks. There are so many possibilities for fun things to do without ever even leaving the property! The cabin is located maybe one mile from the Ichetucknee River which is absolutely breathtaking, crystal clear blue water where me and my family went tubing, but you could go paddle boarding (which we plan to do next time), canoe or kayak or snorkeling. I really can't say enough about what an amazing time we had here!!!! STRONGLY RECOMMEND!!!! 👍 THANKS JOHN!!! ☺️

Home away from home!

We truly had no idea what to expect until only a few minutes after our arrival. We were so surprised everytime we opened a closet, a drawer, or just touring the property. You literally only have to pack food, drinks, and a float for the river! The kids found the games, bikes, and swings within minutes, while we were busy checking out all of the comforts of home and realizing we could have packed MUCH lighter! John truly exceeded our expectations and we already are planning our return trip. (We just left today) Bob's River place was a hit with kids and adults. We also floated on tubes down to Rock Bluff Spring. So much to do and not enough time. Fires and cooking by the river were highlights for sure. All Of my facebook friends are already asking for the info after seeing our pics. Now I am just wondering if I want to share our new found secret. (Jk) Thanks again for a lovely time!

Cypress Cabin

My family and I had a great experience staying here. We fished from the dock mornings and evenings, had a couple of great bbqs at the cabin, and the kids made s'mores in the firepit. The cabin was generously stocked with basic necessities, such as paper towels, toilet paper, soaps and detergents, and other such supplies. There were more than enough pieces of cutlery and flatware, dishes and plates for six people. There were also full selections of kitchen gear (pots, pans, etc.) and bbq tools. The cabin is located in a region that has numerous amazing cold-water springs and crystal clear rivers, called "the Gilchrist Blueway." Not only are those natural wonders in close proximity, but the cabin is stocked with pamphlets, maps, and other bits of information about the nearby springs and rivers. Moreover, the whole property is very well organized. All of the cabinets and drawers are labeled, so you can always find exactly what you're looking for, be it a towel, a frying pan, a coffee cup, etc. Finally, the host is very nice and accommodating. He gave good advice regarding things to do in the area, made sure that we had everything we need while staying in the cabin, and was excellent at communicating. He responded to all messages instantly, and this made the whole process of checking in as well as the entire stay very worry-free.

Location, View and Untouched

The location was great, several natural springs to visit and Bob's Waterway was a blast. This place has it all; views from each window and the deck attached, canoes, kayaks, a rope swing and wooden pier to float to after jumping off the built up platform. A natural spring a mile away by canoe. A trail to the waterfront that boasts wildlife and small pools of water. The cabin has plush linens to bath with and everything you need to entertain small kids, teenagers so the adults can relax and sit out on the deck in relaxing chairs. The views are great, especially around 7am, for deer. The fire pit was perfect for roasting marshmallows and cooking hamburgers, fish and veggies. The kitchen was stocked with everything I needed to make delicious dinners for five hungry kids and two adults. We played games and dvds provided, board games, corn hole and napped under the stars. The owner, a scout master, gave us a full tour of the cabin and the grounds. He was patient and answered every question. He told us about the nearby springs and other activities close to our destination. He also checked in with us to ask if we needed during our stay and let us know that he is just a phone call away. We had a blast and will return to make more memories soon. Thank you John for a wonderful experience.

Relaxing

Perfect for our small family get together! The cabin was very simple, if your looking for something plush and luxurious, this is not for you. However, if your looking for abundant natural beauty combined with clean, quiet and cozy, it's perfect. Beautiful giant oaks with bird feeders (and even one with a timed corn feeder to lure deer) are just outside the bedroom windows and off a lovely step-down front porch. There was a big screen HD TV with Direct TV and hundreds of DVD's, games GALORE, and a collection of books, including a well composed binder with area information and maps (on the desk). The beds were all VERY comfortable with nice bedding and plush pillows. The large kitchen was exceptionally stocked with everything you could need, plus extras. The refrigerator is clean but empty on arrival so make sure you bring your own condiments (there are a few in little packs in a cabinet). The bathrooms had over and beyond the usual stock items. Showers had good water pressure, nice shampoos and body wash, sinks had hand soaps and lotion. Our cell phones did not work, but there is a landline phone. The water levels were up so we were not able to walk down to the river but we were notified of this in advance. The owner is a really nice guy. He has a residence on the property, but was respectful of our privacy. We only saw him when we were returning from an outing and found him restocking firewood for the fire ring. The only issue we had was we were not able to stay longer. Thanks John.

About the host

Host profile image
John and Catie Morley have 4 grown boys and 3 dogs. We originally purchased the 8 acre Suwannee Log Cabin on the southwest corner of the property (next driveway towards CR340) so we had space to drive our ATVs and enjoy our boat. We purchased the adjacent 16 acre Suwannee Cypress Cabin and property to add space for larger family, friend gatherings and because of the unique property.
Since the property was sitting idle between family visits we decided to open up the cabin and property to families and groups. Our focus has been to provide the maximize the amenities and furnishings for the convenience of our customers and to price it so all families can enjoy it at a reasonable rate.
Now we truly enjoy renting the property out to families and groups who want to visit
We really enjoy the privacy of the property, the large trees and abundant wildlife.

The cabin is fully furnished for your convenience. Linens, towels, dishware, glassware, cookware, utensils, small appliances, BBQ's, We have tried to provide the maximum amount of furnishings to minimize our guests need to bring things or avoid frequent trips to the store.
Rental of the cabin includes a drive in car pass to Rock Bluff Springs and 5 passes to Hart Springs County Park.

What makes this property unique
