Little Salmon Log Cabin

This was our second time staying at this cabin. Perfect size for our group. We enjoy being right on the river. Elk viewing was great from the deck!

Beautiful labor of love

The views are 360 and the absolute rage of the river is breathtaking! We truly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. One of the cleanest places we have stayed and all the linens were fresh and clean.

Perfect!

This cabin is a gem. Peg keeps it clean and fully stocked. It is also affordable and in the perfect location for fishing, hiking, and rock hounding. It has plenty of space for everyone to stay comfortably. Although it feels like you are in a remote area, its only minutes away from all the amazing fun things to do around Riggins. We love this place!

Awesome modern log cabin

Beautiful log home on the river with three very private bedrooms. Clean. Comfortable. Wonderful view from wrap around deck. Marvelous experience with the family. Cant really think of a way to make it better. Hope to return.

great time

We stayed three nights, and I sleep in two of the three bedrooms. My wife tried all three. I liked the upstairs the best, it was dark and quite while the downstairs room was great because with the window open you could hear the river and that put me right to sleep. The house was very clean and well set up for everything we needed. We only had two complaints, the hot water had a smell, and we couldn't watch the Monday night football game with that tv set-up. But all in all, we had a great time and would go back. Thanks for a great time, Mike and Wendy

Everything you hoped it would be

First and foremost, the host Peg is amazing. We fell in love with her and her artwork at the cabin and she was gracious enough to show us more of her original works so that we could take a little piece of our vacation home with us in the form of her paintings! The cabin was clean and comfortable. The location is fantastic, you are right on the little salmon river and there's decks to sit on and enjoy it. You are in a quiet rural neighborhood but only 10 to 15 minutes from a quaint river town where you can get everything you need. There is tons of trout fishing opportunities around the area as well as hikes that take your breath away. If you are wavering on booking this stay let me settle it for you, you need to stay here and enjoy this beauty. You will not regreet a second of it.

We stayed at this house for WWB tournament in February. The cabin is in a beautiful location by the river beautiful deck and views, easy parking for several vehicles. The kitchen had everything we needed to put a meal together. Only suggestion would maybe be a new set of towels and having them out where we didn’t have to search for them, but really wasn’t a big issue. Property management was very easy to work with and super responsive. We would stay again for sure! Keep in mind that the location is about 8 miles from the town of Riggins so if you’re going to eat/drink in town have a designated driver!

House not clean

Let me preface this review with the fact we stayed at this property two other times and were very pleased with everything. This time however we found so many items not attended to. The upper bedrm. floor was dirty and had to be swept by us, the lower bedrm floor was dirty , as well as the bathrm had hair and bugs in it. The large sofa arms had food or something on them and at least one of the sofa pillows was dirty. The coffee maker had not been cleaned out, and we found a lot of cobwebs in the house. One cobweb in the main floor bathroom had a spider and centipede type insect in it, both alive. There were cobwebs behind the bed on main floor with bugs attached and behind doors. All of this combined led us to wondered what else wasn't clean.

Beautiful Cabin on the Little Salmon River with 1970s Vibe

All of the pictures represent the cabin well, the deck has awesome views. Getting into and out of the house was really easy for a couple who can't handle stairs, with a bedroom and bath on the main floor easily accessible from the car. There was plenty of seating for our party of 6 even if some of it was old and squeaky, it was comfortable. The AC was wonderful and the outdoor grill is nice. Our guided fly fishing trip was canceled due to high water and we stayed in the cabin most of the time. Water was metallic tasting and we bought bottled water and a bag of crushed ice for drinks. We watched YouTube and NetFlix at night without any problems. We found dead creepy crawlies in the bath when we got there and had quite a few insects and spiders during our stay. It could be that it was empty for some time due to the pandemic. The main floor bathroom door lock didn't work. We cooked almost all our meals at the cabin and it was just odd. The only new appliance is the microwave. Bring your own pan if you want to bake muffins or a cake. There are only small forks. Frying up pancakes took forever in the one good frying pan (and on the only large burner). An electric frying pan and griddle would be great along with some measuring cups, measuring spoons, mixing bowls, and bakeware. It could use some culling of random things as well. Using the outside grill and making 1-skillet meals worked better. The dishwasher had problems opening the soap door sometimes and needed to be rerun through a cycle. The owners were accommodating and easy to work with. They stopped by once while we were there. Wifi is slow but steady and worked fine with one connection. Most of our phones wouldn't work there so don't expect to get a hotspot. Overall it was worth getting away from home and relaxing - even with the river too high for good fishing and with a rockslide blocking us from Riggins half the time we were there. Think of a nice cabin in the woods with a lot of 1970s mixed in.

The cabin was more than expected. It was very spacious; 3 levels with a bedroom and bathroom for each. The upstairs bedroom was very large with plenty of space for more than 3 people. The living room was open with great views of the river. We opened the doors on each side of the living room to listen to the sounds of the river which could be easily heard. The wrap around porch made maneuvering in and out to the outside very accessible. The house was well equipped with dishes and other items for cleaning if necessary. We caught many trout right outside the cabin. We explored several of the nearby towns like McCall and Cascade which help when wanting to be around a larger town otherwise Pollock is quiet and very secluded. Would love to return again.

Memorial Weekend

We traveled through in January for a quick tripped stopped in Riggins for some pizza. Loved the pizza and wanted to come back to check out the area. What a beautiful place. We had three couples and the cabin by the river was perfect. We enjoyed the sound of the river sitting on the deck relaxing. The cabin is beautiful! We would love to return again with our adult kids.

Picture perfect location

My husband and our two adult kids with spouses LOVE this cabin. The luxury of each bedroom having their own bathroom was a plus that is hard to come by. Very clean! Fishing was great. Every evening we sat on the deck and glassed the hills for wildlife and did a little bird watching. (Bring Binoculars.) Not too far from Killgores Adventure Jet-boat ride. We will definitely be back to explore the mountains! Highly recommend this cabin if you love the outdoors/wildlife.
