Spectacular Fall 2025 rates!! The Blu Shutter Beach House added a huge, beautiful deck across the entire front of the house, along with a charming new L shaped patio couch. This is going to be the place to make your happy memories with friends and family. New range with air fryer, microwave and refrigerator. The Location of this property is phenomenal. St. Joseph, located 8 miles down the actual street the house sits on. The shops, restaurants, beaches and Harbor Shores Signature golf course along with so much more St Joe has to offer. Ten minutes up the street is beautiful South Haven. If you continue 30 minutes north, Holland, with its world renown Tulip festival in May. Located right in the middle of several wineries, breweries and fruit farms. If lady luck is with you, take a short 12 mile ride to nearby Four Winds Casino in Hartford . The thrill seekers will love Michigan's Adventure, Michigan's largest amusement and outdoor water park. The house has 3 bedrooms and our bonus room sleeping 10 comfortably. Two bathrooms with an open floor plan and a large eat in kitchen. The down stairs bathroom has a walk in shower, for easy access. The upstairs with a whirlpool tub for relaxing after a busy day of shopping and having fun at the beach. Game room with family fun board games along with some adult fun ones too. Great place to spend your vacation.

Great Location

The location of this property was great for our trip. Thie house has its own unique charm. We all loved the park right across the street from us. It was perfect for spending the day on the beach. Dianna is a top notch host!

What a find! We were staying for a girls weekend in South Haven but wanted to stay close to the beach. Dianna had everything we needed for a great stay. She was very communicative when we had questions and was so thoughtful! My personal favorite feature was the screened in porch, perfect spot for your morning coffee. Whether you are going on a girls trip or family vacation, this is the place! We cannot wait to come back. P.S. if you are NEEDING cell service and have AT&T or Verizon, just plan ahead and use the WiFi. It was refreshing not to have service 24/7, but again, there is WiFi!!

Beautiful Fall Stay

We had a wonderful weekend here! Great for families with kids, just a short walk across the street to a park with a playground and the beach! There are a lot of fun fall things in this area too. Took a 15 min drive to Jollay Orchards for apple picking and fall activities too. Would highly recommend!

Clean and comfortable in a great location!

We really enjoyed staying at this property and being able to walk across the street to the beach! This house is very clean and comfortable and perfect for a family with kids…ours enjoyed the DVD player in the bedroom. The whirlpool tub, water cooler, beach chairs, towels and toys were nice extras. Kitchen is well stocked. The owner is prompt in responding to messages and was very accommodating when we had to make a change to our reservation. A great place to stay!

Perfect for us

Our family spends a week at Lake Michigan each year. This was our first year staying at the Blue Shutter beach house. We had 6 adults and one child. If you’re looking for a high end rental, this is not for you. If you’re looking for a cozy beach house, this one is great. The house is stocked with all of the kitchenware you need for meals. They provide enough toiletries, paper dilly, etc for a day or two. On site laundry is a plus. Plenty of board games for rainy days. The beach access right across the street at Hagar park is so nice. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch for coffee in the mornings and to escape the bugs in the evening. The owner was very accommodating in a few requests we had and made us feel welcomed. Overall, it was a great place to spend time with family and we would definitely rent again!

too many rules

charging us for cleaning and than telling us to clean is nuts, we had to strip our sheets and take them down stairs, take out the trash, buy products that should have been their, like garbage bags, grill did not work nor the was there a working lighter for the grill....The beds were comfortable. The water smelled like rotten eggs. and the stairs were scary. The owner kept telling me to go 2 miles down the road to buy the products that should have been there already. I would never stay there again.

A great little home!

This house was perfect for our "girls' weekend" getaway. The location is right on a state road, so there's a little traffic, but not too much; it was easy to walk across to the park and beach, which are lovely. Comfy beds, LOADS of linens and towels, updated baths, and nice touches (personalized welcome sign, games for the kids, and she even left pumpkins and carving/painting supplies for our October stay! My granddaughters LOVED that!) There's no a/c or central heat, but the provided space heaters in the bedrooms kept it very comfortable, as did the baseboard heat downstairs. While the weather was too chilly for us to spend much time on the screened porch, I imagine that's a great place to hang out in warmer weather! Communication, check-in & out, supplies, cleanliness, charm, and comfort were all five star! And the location makes it SO easy to get to the nearby towns (We hit St. Joseph and South Haven, both charming and fun). Thanks for a lovely place to spend our Fall Break... ...and the blue shutters are beautiful! They make it so easy to find! :)

Dianna was very responsive. We had a really nice stay! The home was comfortable, clean, and well maintained. The bathrooms and living area were especially nice. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we could need — plenty of pots, pans, dishes, and glasses. We also appreciated the extra touches like towels, blankets, and even spare toiletries in case something was forgotten. Overall, a great experience and a wonderful place to stay!

We had a wonderful time at Dianna’s property. It was clean, comfortable, and child friendly. Dianna was super helpful and responded quickly when we had questions.The location was great! We walked across the street to the BEAUTIFUL beach many times and played on the playground with my nephew.We would definitely stay again!

Came here on a trip with family and friends. Had 8 adults and 3 year old. Good sized kitchen (larger than expected based on pictures) and plenty of room to spread out. Was unusually warm for October so was able to take advantage of the lake and beach which is just across the road. It is a major/busy road. Nice outdoor seating and large fire pit.

Clean room and helpful host. One thing to note is that I had no cell reception, so it was challenging to communicate and receive check in code for the front door. Luckily, the owner texted me and it came through, but even on the house wifi I wasn't having much luck accessing the VRBO website. We enjoyed our stay and had what we needed.

Location, location, location

The house was in a great location for beaches, wineries, shopping, and more. There is a nice small beach right across the road from the property. However, the stairs down to the beach are pretty steep so the trip up was rough. But great for not having to commit to staying all day at the beach. The highway that runs next to the property is very busy and there was some road noise. The home has window units but no central air. The house stayed nice and cool though. The water does have a sulfur smell, but the owner provided a water dispenser for drinking. We loved all the board games, kitchen supplies, and beach stuff (chairs, noodles, etc.). It made it more like home. The owner was very responsive and kind. Would recommend!

Perfect beach access

The location is amazing for anyone wanting to spend all their time at the beach; its literally right across the road with less than a 5 minute walk to put your toes in the sand. The house was perfect for our group with plenty of beds, bathrooms, and space for 5 adults and two kids. I know the water was a concern for several past renters, but for anyone who is familiar with well water, the house is perfectly normal and the addition of a jug water dispenser in the kitchen is a major plus. Diana, the owner is really easy to work with and perfectly reasonable in her requests/house rules.

Family Fun

Dianna is so hospitable. House is so close to a public beach & park. Lots of stairs to the beach so a level of fitness is needed. Beach was nice & not crowded with a diverse crowd. House was baby friendly & there was something for everyone.

First Family Vacation 2025

We had 10 family members and everyone had a bed to sleep in and having two bathrooms was a must ! The Kitchen is nice size with everything you need to prepare food and cook. It was nice having an outside grill as well.Kyger park was nice for the kids and shaded, The Beach was perfect and it was not crowded , There were dogs but for the most part the owners were respectiful and picked up after them. The only down fall was the 90 plus stairsteps down to the beach after the park area.

Nice stay

Great stay within walking distance of a not crowded beach. Beds were very comfortable and house is well equipped. This is located on a rural highway which is kind of noisy when you are sitting on the deck, but it’s not noticeable inside the house. Use the water dispenser provided by the host as the tap water does have a sulfur smell. This is fairly secluded, and if you want to do things in town, you will have to drive, but that can be viewed as an asset rather than a detriment. The town of St. Joseph is close as is Coloma.

Great Lake Stay!

Dianna’s place was perfect for our Thursday-Sunday family visit! Hagar Park is directly across the road with a playground and quiet beach access. Close to wineries and St. Joseph/South Haven attractions. The kitchen was well-stocked, there were an abundance of games, beach accessories, and a lovely yard/deck area for relaxing. Beds were super comfortable and we had everything we needed for a great getaway. It was my birthday and Dianna even put up happy birthday banners. Blue Shutter Beach House is a perfect getaway and the best value around. I hope to stay again.

We fell in love with our little house on the hill the day we came to see it. The location and beautiful property that the house sits on was our deciding factor on why we had to have this house. The first night we stayed it felt like home. We hope our guests feel just as comfortable as we do here.
