About this property
MINIMAL SHIMOKITA: Stylish Loft Apt 3min from Sta.
We are a Superhost on a different platform :) The room is a spacious 1LDK 41.21㎡ with a loft + everything you'd expect in a guest house, with plenty of space, a high ceiling, lots of natural light and a view of the town from its 9th floor balcony.
3 mins from the station and in the heart of its creative culture, Minimal Shimokita is perfect for singles, couples & families looking to discover the expressive, yet welcoming Shimokita + Shibuya, Shinjuku, Harajuku etc. with great ease.
Where the majority of 1R or 1LDK rooms and hotels in Tokyo are roughly between 15㎡ - 35㎡, Minimal Shimokita with its loft and at 41.21㎡ offers enough space for travelers to truly feel at home.
The two windows on both floors offer plenty of light, creating a perfect atmosphere to unwind after days of being on the go.
The decor is minimal and neutral, with retro Japanese magazines, books and posters that hint at the rich history and culture that Japan has to offer.
Upgrades since Jan 2019:
・New plants on balcony and in living room
・Laundry basket by washing machine
・Cushion covers from Muji
・Microfibre blanket from Muji
・Floor lamp in bedroom
・Double size futon set with Muji covers
・Toaster from DeLonghi (works with croissants too)
・Pots and pans with removable handle
・Glass coffee pot with stainless steel coffee strainer
You have access to everything in the room cleaned and maintained by a professional cleaner. If you should need anything that perhaps we didn't prepare, simply get in touch and chat to us. Sleeping arrangements can be made on :
・Double Bed x 1 (Up to 2 adults + 1 small child)
・Single Size Foldout Couch x 1 (For 1 adult or 1 child)
・Double Size Futon Set x 1 (Up to 2 adults + 1 small child)
・Single Size Futon Set x 1 (For 1 adult or 1 child)
Being 3 mins from Shimokitazawa station, you can stroll right down to ALL the bars, live music venues, theatres, vinyl stores, indie cinemas, izakayas, restaurants, cafes, dessert shops, vintage clothing stores, comedy clubs, craft beer joints, etc.
Send us a message and we'll send you a few articles that should serve as a nice intro to Shimokitazawa, as well as an e-booklet with personal recommendations in the neighbourhood :)
Shimokitazawa station also offers great access to the eastern metropolis (Shinjuku - 7 mins) as well as the cultural hubs (Shibuya 4 mins / Omotesando 9 mins). Access to another reputable hub in the west, Kichijoji is also fantastic.
We hope guests from all over the world can stay and experience our favourite town just like a local would, and bring back 'a piece' of the Shimokita spirit, memories and inspirations to share with friends and loved ones back home.
We will send you a PDF containing the house manual, address, key instructions and recommendations in the area once booking is confirmed. Thank you so much for your consideration and hope to speak soon :)

Hello! I'm a Japanese male (who's lived 21 years in Sydney / Singapore / US). I've left advertising (Dentsu Oddfellows / Dentsu Creative X) for a second time to focus on social businesses & projects.
I've previously worked with deaf people learning sign language, and cross-cultural projects in organic fashion.
I hope to continue being involved in social businesses, and amongst other goals hopefully contribute to creating genuine connections between the world and my motherland: Japan - which is what guest houses are great for :)
I live in another Shimokitazawa apartment with my rescue dog 'Akiko (May May) Yosano" and a rescue cat "Ryuichi (Ryu chan) Sakamoto". We love the bustling neighbourhood and love our down times getting in touch with nature and our amazing planet.
Here's an anecdote about Japanese passengers travelling on planes: "Japanese people leave their seats cleaner than it was before". That surely says something about the cleanliness of our people, but deep down it all comes down to simply being respectful to the people who are kind enough to provide a generous and hospitable service. So as hosts, just let us know what you expect and we'll be sure to keep to our word.
If you're reading this as a guest looking to stay at our home, if the above paragraph resonates with you then things should be perfect :)
I'm interested in people - the exchanging of perspectives, being inspired by just how diverse and uniquely colourful each person is. I also LOVE local experiences wherever I go, doing my best to learn the language, eating the food, and experiencing joy just the way the local people have done for many, many years. So feel free to talk to us as we're always delighted to help you discover things just as others do for us.
If there's anything else you're wondering about us do ask away. Hope to chat to you soon!
Peace from TKY,
Ryo
