• All beach services are managed by La Dolce Vita under agreement with the Pelican Beach Resort Owners' Association. Policies are applicable to all guests and owners of the resort. Beach set-ups may be rented directly on the beach the day of, based on availability. To reserve a beach setup in advance or for more information, please call or reserve.

• Due to changing tides and weather conditions, beach setup placement may vary without notice.

• The use of personal beach equipment (including chairs, umbrellas, etc.) is allowed, but they cannot be placed in front of beach service setups. Personal beach equipment may be placed in back of setups and may not be left overnight.

• There is a 20' public access easement from the high water line along the entire coastline to allow visitors to walk freely and enjoy the Destin shoreline. We refrain from any chair setups in this area to allow all of our guests plenty of unobstructed access to the water.

Our stay here was perfect. The unit itself is clean and updated and right on top of the beach. The café on site and the tiki bar by the pools were super convenient as well, and the food and drinks were very good. The home is also very conveniently located near restaurants, grocery stores, entertainment, and everything else in Destin.

We were pleased with how well the property was maintained. All of the pool areas were cleaned thoroughly each morning. The beach area was well taken care of also. When we go back we’ll try to stay here again.

Great condo with a great view

Comfortable condo with a great view! During our week stay in the mornings and evenings from the balcony we saw dolphins, stingrays, sea turtles and a manatee! Plenty of pools on the property to entertain the kids in the evening and we caught lots of ghost crabs on the beach at night!

The unit itself was greet. It was clean, well decorated, and had great location. I wasn’t a fan of the resort. It’s hard to enjoy the beach because of the chair company’s set ups that you have to purchase to use on every inch of the sand near the beach.

It was good. Some of the other people staying didn’t follow the rules and the corridor on the floor we stayed in was quite noisy with people and individuals drinking but the room was cozy, and we enjoyed it for the most part.

Booking was easy! Property has beautiful view and wonderful location. Our only complaint was the electrical outlets, they were loose in wall or didnt work in the living area. Other than that we had a wonderful experience. The cafe on property was exceptional. Wait times for elevator was very short if any. We will definitely stay again!!

Overall, condo is very nice and has all the amenities needed. In close proximity to restaurants, Wal-Mart, stores, etc. Suggest renting your chairs and umbrella way in advance of your stay. However, umbrella/chair rental has nothing to do with condo owner. Enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you.

On entering the condo there was a strong musty smell. Even on opening doors it did not improve! In the evening at shower time we noticed the drain in the bath was not draining. Once we contacted the owner it was sorted out the following day and all was good after that. We had a pleasant stay.

AMAZING PROPERTY!!!

We stayed in the same condo building last year (different room) and didn't think we could do better, but this condo was better. The unit was extremely clean and well decorated. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the evening enjoying a few drinks. The bed was very comfortable (I haven't slept that well in years). We enjoyed being on the 8th floor versus the 18th, where we were last year because we felt closer to the action on the beach but still had plenty of peace and quiet as well as privacy. The kitchen has updated and well maintained appliances. Living room was spacious and comfortable. Well definitely book next years trip soon in this same unit. Highly recommended!! Family Vacation

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home! The description of the listing is accurate. Beautiful ocean front view and the room was clean :) Our only issue during the stay, was the resort pools were closed early on our last night because of a rowdy group of kids. Looking back, I wish the security gaurd would've handled the rowdy group (kicking them out) prior to calling the police and closing the resort for ALL PELICAN GUESTS. Tho, this isn't because of the property owner, I did have to reach out to ask for an explanation of the situation since no one would talk to us because we "rented 3rd party and not directly with the Pelican resort." She was very responsive. I would definitely stay again at this property in the future if we go to the Pelican resort again.

Not having a good start. Can't get owner to repond to my emails. Old owner calls me, but new one has not contact me since paying the rental fee. Showed up and place is not ready. We are sitting in a friend's condo waiting for it still. Glad we have friends.

Dear Ms Helms, So sorry you feel you had communication issues. I explained we were driving 8 hours from Dallas to Kansas City to granddaughter's volleyball tourney and responded the next day. So sorry the room was not ready, but check in is 4 pm. I am so glad you had friends to let you stay with till room was ready. There will be no more communication issues as the old owner (who was helping us at first) is no longer booking at all. Once again, sorry for the Rough start!

Ocean fun

The check in female staff is rude and not helpful, the young mam was super nice and helpful! The main pool and hot tub have inviting night lights but they find great joy in kicking you out at 7:00. Unit is pretty with great views. However bedding was dirty. Found a contact lense in bed ans fresh stains. Remote nor Tv in master room works correctly. Master bed is super lumpy and majorily dips. Bunk beds smell like urin. Has the potential to be amazing and wouldn't say overall dirty but the bedding was definitely dirty. Alot of rules with the AC also. We are from Ohio, we like it cool inside.

Hollie, we are sorry that the front desk staff was rude at check-in. We are glad that you thought the unit was pretty and had great views! We apologize that the linens were not clean and have notified housekeeping to ensure that this does not happen again. We were not aware that the TV and remote did not work properly during your stay. Had we known, this could have been an easy call to the maintenance department to fix the problem. We are also not aware of what you are referring to regarding the A/C rules. The only request we have is that guests keep the sliding glass doors closed and not leave them open for long periods of time due to the humidity.

No impressed won’t return

The property was okay. The bed were comfortable. It wasn’t very clean and had a musty smell. The balcony had 8 chairs and a table on it and a ton of sand and bird poop. Unless you wanted to bring the chairs inside it was totally pointless. The beach was roped off and if you didn’t rent chairs your had to sit behind three rows of chairs and umbrellas. We tried to rent chairs every single day but they only had the third row available and what’s the point of that? When I sat on the beach on top of a towel to watch my kids in the ocean. I was harassed by security and told I had to sit behind the chairs or get in the water with them….. the big hot tub was not heated they said the heater was broken. The only hot tub that worked held 5 people. Not having a washer and dryer is a total pain as well.

The majority of the chairs have been removed from the balcony. Housekeeping cleans the sand and bird poop from the balcony after every guest's stay. Both hot tubs on the property are in working condition. Pelican Beach Resort has coin operated washer & dryers on every floor. Guests that choose not to rent beach service are reqired to set-up behind La Dolce Vita's paid set-ups. We recommend that guests reserve their beach chairs and umbrellas early through La Dolce Vita Destin. The earlier you reserve allows guests better chances to receive a front row set-up.

Great location and condo

We had a really nice vacation. The pools and beach were perfection! The condo was nice and very clean when we got there and the main bedroom was comfortable. Only 2 things could have improved our stay. The first was that we arrived 15 minutes early but had to wait with all of our luggage and a 6 year old until the door code worked at 4. Some others may arrive a few minutes early not knowing they will have to wait until exactly 4 pm so having that statement in bold, stern writing in the contract would help. The other thing is that we were only provided 6 towels for a 6 day stay and because there is a private owner, we could not get more towels from the front desk. We had to wash towels in the public laundry 3 times during our stay, just so we could shower. The laundry is very close, but again having that communicated ahead of time would have been helpful. We understood we would have to wash our own clothes, but not the towels that came with the condo. Other than those 2 things, our stay was perfect. The view is lovely and we only had to leave the resort to go eat. Thank you to the owners for having such a clean, cute condo.

Johnny and wife, Beth, have both been retired for 3 years now. Our retirement is partially funded with our rental properties. Johnny was raised in Dallas, Texas , and Beth in Austin, Texas. Johnny retired after 35 years with Texas Instruments/Raytheon. Beth retired after 25 years of managing her own mortgage company. You likely will be talking to Beth when you call in for reservations. Our co-owners, Jon and Shelley, daughter and son-in-law, will be available for questions when Beth and Johnny are on vacation. We all love the beach and saw Destin for the first time this August, and fell in love with the property , the beach, and the great southern flavor of the residents and cuisine.
Our time is split between managing the rentals and attending all our grandchildren's Volleyball, Football, Baseball and Basketball.

Why they chose this property

We picked this property because it is steps from the sugar white sand beach, the two pools & hot tub, BBQ areas, the beach bar and lastly the deli and sandwich shop. In addition, the property is centrally located to shops, restaurants, pier, Big Kahuna water park and mini golf with other rides . The grocery store is less than 1 mile down the road . There are also various food items and miscellaneous items in the deli shop. Additionally, there is a chair and umbrella service right outside the roped off private beach. Pelican Resort has more amenities than any other resort on the beach.

What makes this property unique

We instantly fell in love with this property when we walked onto the oversized balcony and viewed the beach and ocean. The view took our breath away. We have traveled all over the world and have seen many beaches, and we believe that this view is at the top of our list. Swimming in the ocean is quite pleasant, as the waves and undertow are minimal.
