Kootenay Paradise Retreat!

An eco friendly cozy home perched on a bluff with a pool extending right off the front deck. Beautiful views of Kootenay lake, Duncan river and Selkirk mountains. A hot tub is right next to the pool. An amazing 30 foot pond and 16 foot waterfall is located just around the corner from the pool. Forty-eight solar panels above the pond provide power to the house. Two large gardens are filled with vegetables, berries, peaches, cherries & apples. Eighty two acres of land ensures total privacy and there are a network of hiking trails to enjoy. Wildlife abound. Over 50 hummingbirds patron the many feeders around the sundeck. The house is rustic with many windows and an infrared sauna. Lots of boating, kayaking, fishing, hiking, biking and natural hot springs in the surrounding area. Kayak, SUP and bike rentals available in Kaslo. World class alpine hiking and backpacking. There are a large variety of hikes for all levels. Horseback riding. Habitat reserve, bird sanctuary and wetland 5 minutes away. Great photography everywhere. Kootenay Lake is 5 minutes away and Duncan Lake 15 minutes. World class music festival on August long weekend in nearby historic village of Kaslo 35 minutes away. Visit the vibrant cultural city of Nelson only 1 1/2 hours away. Golfing available in Kaslo. Check out our pictures. They say it all!

A Hidden Gem

Perfect spot to return!

My family had our third year out at this beautiful property. Every time we come the garden offers different delicious treats. We relax and enjoy the pool and nearby lake, and are so grateful to have this spot to return to.

We loved the privacy and natural surroundings. We went later in the season and still saw hummingbirds. The kids basically lived in the pool.

Private Paradise

We chose this location for relaxation but there is so much you can do. The hosts are amazing, the property is out of this world. We were comfortable, entertained, and enjoyed our stay. My son loved the fish in the pond, and the waterfall. We got to roast marshmallows and enjoy the scenery. Would love to go back and would highly recommend staying!

Hidden Gem!

This was our first trip to the Canadian Rockies, and we weren’t sure what to expect but from the moment we arrived it felt like a home, not just a rental, it was extremely well stocked! The views from the pool were amazing, it was so peaceful and quiet, we mostly sat in the pool in silence soaking in the view. So much wildlife in the area and plenty of nearby hiking. The deck it set up perfectly to catch sunrise an amazing sunset overlooking the lake and river. The place was setup with tons of outdoor activities, unfortunately we hit a bad year with mosquitoes and couldn’t fully enjoy all the outdoor activities. We absolutely loved this place and will be back 100%

Paradise!

We spent 3 nights at the rental and the views are breathtaking! The owners are great with communication and easy to get ahold of. There is sooo much privacy and we loved all the little touches inside and out. Interesting and unique decorations inside and there are 2 large gardens, a pond with fish and a waterfall. We ate beets, carrots and some broccoli from the garden. We saw deer in the yard and a wild turkey. The rental is VERY well stocked with anything you may need. I’d recommend this property if you want a little trip to get away from it all and enjoy beautiful view and a great get away with all the comforts!

Paradise

It is difficult to describe the feelings we have for this property. We cannot think of anytime on any holiday we have been more relaxed and at peace. The view,the home, the pool, the hot tub, the HiFi!!! If you want to get away from it all and just chill this is definitely the place. Robyn & Glen were excellent hosts and we could not have asked for more. We will look forward to returning and seeing Shamus & Patrick O'Bear again soon.

Peaceful Getaway

This property is as good as the pictures depict. Robyn and Glen are amazing hosts. They put a lot of thought into every detail, they are extremely well organized and they a very easy to get ahold of if needed. The property itself is amazing and the area surrounding Argenta is equally amazing. If you are looking to get away from the crowds of people and chaos, this is the place for you. It is very peaceful and incredibly beautiful.

Truly is Paradise

This place is unbelievable. Remote, beautiful scenery, great place to spend quality time with family or friends. The check in was easy and the hosts were warm and welcoming. There was never a shortage of things to do for myself and my 10 year old son. We will be back !!! Thank you!!!

We wanted to get out of the city and leave our stressful jobs in the Okanagan behind. So we searched for and found our slice of paradise in the West Kootenay and have never regretted it.

Why they chose this property

We had a list of 20 possible properties that fit the description of what we were looking for and we packed up our truck and spent a weekend checking them all out. This was the last property on our list and we immediately fell in love with it and the area. We returned home at the end of the weekend and on Monday we met with the bank to make an offer. The rest is history!

What makes this property unique

After 25 years we are still discovering new things to do out here. The hiking is endless and the lakes are beautiful. There is so much to explore. We are tucked away in a little corner of B.C. that is undiscovered and special. Over the years we have repeatedly talked about wanting to share what we have with others and finally four years ago we decided to go for it and here we are listed as a vacation rental. We hope our place will inspire others to pursue their dreams.
