We had a wonderful stay at this charming lakefront home. The home is comfortable, and had everything we needed to enjoy the lake and Anderson island. It was relaxing, beautiful views and a lovely restaurant next door.
This cottage is a hidden gem, so charming and quaint but convenient. Close to cafe & store but very quiet. What a treat to wake up to sunshine streaming through the french doors. Ill be back.
This is the best location on Anderson Island. Right next door to the Rivera Restaurant for incredibly convenient eats and yet the orientation of the house and the way its nestled the trees give a secluded feeling and the best view of Josephine Lake.
The property is not on Hairstine Island as listed in Vrbo, but on Anderson Island. Beautiful lake property. The cottage had everything we needed. It was a great cozy and relaxing getaway. We will definitely go again.
The property was older, smelled moldy, obvious brown water stains on several places inside. Beds were old and uncomfortable. Our stay coincided with a heatwave and there was only one window screen and a slider screen in working condition that could let fresh air in during the day or night. Leaving windows open at night would've given animals and insects ample opportunity to get in the house. I asked if they had fans and was told there was no storage space for them , but was told the ceiling fan could be used to circulate air. The ceiling fan was not working. So, little to no fresh air could ciculate and cool off the cottage. And the owner decided to not bring fans unless asked during a heatwave. It was stuffy and moldy and uncomfortable. The dock had wide gaps in between the connected sections of docking, making a tripping hazard or worse getting a foot caught and broken. The water at lake entry was muddy even before walking in it.I left the home due to the above mentioned reasons with 5 days left on the rental. I let the owner know and asked for only 3 days to be refunded. I was told no because they could rented it out to others who would have had the same problems. Is that right to do? I was also told my feedback would help other renters. Great for them. But I have to pay for a poor quality rental.I do not recommend the Cottage on Lake Josephine.
Quaint cottage right on Lake Josephine. Very welcoming and had all the amenities you need! The best location on the island. 1 mile walk to the store and coffee shop. Restaurant and bar right next door and the golf course is just across the road. Islanders were very friendly and helpful. We rented kayaks from a local that lived just down the street. Only place on the island that we found to get lake equipment. Bring your fishing poles and your swim trunks. There is few great spots for swimming and even a waterslide!
We absolutley loved our stay...house was just epic location to die for ...peaceful we loved relaxing by fire ...the use of paddle boats from restuarant next door was easy and fun...we ate there too yummy ....also played 2 rounds golf with my 9 yr old and staff and course was perfect ....we are long time south puget sounders that now live in Ogden Utah and came up for our older sons graduation at Tacoma dome from Sumner high....and this hit all the spots for for getting PNW feel our first time on Anderson island ..dont miss the Carson cove park I believe is Andys park on maps the walk down to beach if fun the view of carson cove is Epic.....Thanks again we will back next summer
We had a lovely weekend baking Christmas cookies, enjoying our view of the lake, playing board games, and walking over to the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. 🤗
Great little hidden gem! The dock in the morning with coffee was my favorite! It is literally steps away from the restaurant which was wonderful too a little loud in the morning when they were opening but not bad. It was a great vacation.
We were looking for a place on a lake to escape the heat and try out our paddle boards. This place wound up being the perfect spot! On a "no wake" lake with direct access to the water. Lots of privacy! We loved watching the dragonflies and bats!
This was our first time to spend the weekend on Anderson Island. We have purchased land there and want to see what it’s like living on an island! We had the best weekend and access to the lake and being able to walk next door to the restaurant was cool! We live in an apartment so it was so nice to have outdoor space, especially for our Morkies, Mork and Mindy. Everyday at 6:30 am a deer would come into the yard! Added bonus! Booking for another weekend in September! ❤️ Thank you to the Homeowner for sharing your home.
My son and I had a great week of trout fishing, exploring and relaxation!! Shout out to the fine folks who work at the Riviera restaurant. Highly recommended dining .
It was the perfect getaway for the weekend. We only wished we would have booked a longer stay. Lake was beautiful, cottage cozy and it was a great location. Lake access was perfect for the kids. Thanks again for having us we will be back
Lovely cottage on the lake. Fully stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. We had a great time and so did our dog Baloo. He never wanted to stop swimming and fetching. We played games and had a wonderful time.
Wonderful!, this older home seems to cradle you. We felt comfortable right away. Spent alot of time on the dock sunning and fishing. It supplied us three great trout dinners. High quality fish in this lake. Would love to come again.

Ended up perfect
Initial communication was an issue, along with cleanliness upon arrival (scheduling issue with cleaning service). But the owner made everything right (had service come out and fix immediately). Our stay was wonderful after that, and it's a beautiful home in a very tranquil location. Will be definitely returning!

We were married right here on the lawn in front of the beach in 1998! We were both born and raised in the Seattle area, and are now “rainbirds”.....West Seattle in the summer, and Sun City Grand, Arizona in the winter.
Why they chose this property
Maybe the best location on the whole island: 100 feet from the beautiful Lakeshore Restaurant next door, and 500 yards from the meticulously maintained, tree -lined executive Riviera golf course with its less than $20.00 green fees! Plus, only one mile to the Island General Store, and three miles to the ferry.
What makes this property unique
If you like to fish, Lake Josephine is full of trout and bass! And if you just want to relax, the setting is quiet, peaceful, and totally beautiful. Like being at Grandma’s house——only better. A little bit of paradise!!!
