Great property, close to everything, beautiful views and very comfortable. Recently updated and well equipped for the little ones as well as the adults. 5 Stars!
We had a family vacation here with my siblings and their families and my parents - 11 people. There was plenty of space for all! It was very clean as well. We had a great time and would highly recommend it.
The house was well equipped. We had 5 adults and 5 kids.
The sleeping arrangements worked well for us. The house and property were as presented on line. We had a wonderful time and would stay again in the future. Tom Davison
This rental was perfect. Gorgeous lake even when frozen over. I can only imagine what it looks like in the summer. The lake is steps away from the back patio. Lovely neighborhood, nice and quiet. There's lots of space, many beds and bathrooms, but we only used the first floor. Kitchen is nicely appointed. 6 burner gas stove. Large refrigerator, ice maker in freezer. The host was responsive, he literally answered inquiries within minutes. Would stay here again. Its close enough to TC but far enough away if you want something more secluded.
Excellent vacation of green lake w friends and family. Awesome location with great boat dock and lots of toys in garage (SUPs, kayaks, yard games). Nice Weber grill and backyard fire pit. Great place.
The Lake house was just as pictured & more. We didn’t want for anything & just enjoyed every moment. The weather & stars were perfect. The children loved the swings. An added bonus for me( since I was the oldest ) was Chicago performing at Interlochen…we could hear the concert while playing cornhole. A lovely home, great location, great memories. Thank You, Kevin
My husband and I rented this house to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary with our kids, their spouses and our 4 grandchildren.
Overall this house is great. The location is very good. Close to Traverse City, Sleeping bear Dune and wineries.
The rooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable. There was a welcome basket with some snacks and K-cups.
The kitchen pantry had some staples (seasonings, aluminum foil, plastic baggies) in it that other guests had left that were helpful. We left some stuff too.
The lake was very shallow near the shore and around the dock which was great for our grandchildren, There were 2 paddleboards, 2 single kayaks and 1 double kayak. Also some water toys for the kids. We did bring life vests for the little ones but they did have some adult size vests.
We had an issue with a yellow jackets nest in the ground near where the kids would play in the water. I notified Kevin and someone was sent out to kill the bees.
My biggest complaint about the property is the water. I understand it is well water and they do have a water treatment system but they need to use a product that removes the iron in the water. We had several white/light colored outfits ruined by rust stains when they were washed. We also noticed stains on some of the towels and sheets. If you stay here be cautious of washing clothes. I did advise the owner of this issue and sent photos of the damaged items but I did not receive a response.
Again, overall this is a great house but it could use some improvements.

Hi Shaunna - Thank you for staying with us and the feedback. We will work to improve all the issues that you mentioned.
As for the water, we discovered subsequent to your stay that a former guest had opened a valve in the water filtration system, which caused some well water to bypass the softener. We have since fixed the issue and clothes can be washed without issues / iron should be removed. We did not receive photos of the washed clothes and were not aware of this issue at the time, otherwise we would have made it up to you.
Thank you again for your stay and hopefully the remainder of your summer is going well.
Kevin
This property is in a great location and looks amazing in the photos but has been really beat up by renters. We were very disappointed by the lack of upkeep and felt dirty. Some examples include nasty carpet stains in the main living area, lots of paint chipping on walls and trim, washer/dryer causing snags on your clothes, brown water stains in all sinks and bath tubs, food found on floors in several areas, garage door not working, boat lift not working, damaged patio chairs, and a graveyard of miscellaneous broken furniture on side of the house. Renters also need to be aware that the house has very stinky water due to it being sourced from a well. We still enjoyed our stay but felt like everyone needs to be aware of these issues to go into it with a lowered expectations. Either these issues should be addressed and/or the price should come down in line with the condition of the property.

Brad - We are very surprised by this review considering your closing message to us (to quote you directly) at the completion of your stay was “Again, we thank you for a wonderful house - it was a great week with my family.”
We believe the reason for the negative nature of this review is the boat hoist broken by your group during your stay. At the start of your stay, we asked you to communicate any issues with the property and that we would help address any areas of dissatisfaction. The only issue communicated was the “broken” garage door, and we sent someone to the property to investigate. The garage door was found to be working appropriately. Had any of your remaining comments been communicated, we would have sent someone to the property to address them immediately. To remark on each of your comments:
1. Boat Hoist: Subsequent to your stay we discovered the boat hoist was broken, which leads us to believe that your group was responsible. Our belief is that the reason for this review is the broken boat hoist.
2. Lack of upkeep / feeling dirty: You mentioned carpet stains, stains in sinks, food found on floors, etc. The property is cleaned by two individuals from a professional cleaning company. None of these issues were communicated. Had any of these issues been communicated, we would have send our cleaning crew back to the property and asked them to remedy the situation.
3. Washer / Dryer - We purchased a new dryer in 2020 and have not experienced any issues based on comments from prior guests. We are unsure how you washed your laundry or what caused your issue (if anything).
4. Well water: Consistent to similar properties in Northern Michigan, water at the property is sourced from well water (as mentioned in your review). We have a filtration system for the water and water softener / salt is changed consistently.
We are sorry for any dissatisfaction experienced during your stay and in summary are confused by this review as your issues were not communicated and you provided us with positive feedback throughout your stay. Guests staying at the property immediately prior to your stay (during July 2021) all had glowing reviews and were delighted by their vacations. We will make sure to evaluate all items you noted in your review, and if necessary, address them to ensure fantastic stays for future guests.
We had an awesome family vacation at the lake house on Green Lake in Interlochen. The house was spacious enough for all 15 of us (My wife and I, three daughters and their families including 7 grandsons). Very clean and as nice as advertised. We brought up our pontoon from downstate and we enjoyed Green Lake which is awesome. Interlochen is a cool little town and real close to Traverse City. Made several trips to Moomers which is a must for ice cream lovers.
Very pleased with our choice.
We have vacationed near TC many times over the years in properties of similar quality. In addition to my wife, 4 daughters, son-in-law, daughter’s friend, and two granddaughters (9 and 2), we also had my mother and mother-in-law with us this week. The property comfortably housed all of us and the large kitchen provided great space for us to prepare meals all week. In addition to having all of the cookware, plates, glasses and silverware we needed, the outdoor paddle boards, kayaks, and numerous games kept us engaged in fun outdoor activities. And the swings and water toys were big hits with my granddaughters.
In addition to the property itself, the location was ideal for us. Close to a boat launch, we rented jet skis and a pontoon boat during the week, 2 miles from the grocery store and several restaurants, about 20 minutes from the airport and 15ish minutes from TC, wineries, etc.
Although we’ve stayed in other great properties, we’ve yet to stay in the same property twice. That may change after our week here.
My only advice would be to consider bringing your own skillets as the skillets gave us issues with sticking.
Great property and week Up North!
We had a great stay and we had everything we needed, plus the owners left a whole basket of treats. We loved all the outdoor toys. The view was relaxing and the lake was very clear. Owners were very responsive-thanks Kevin. We are not sure if water softener was working because the water was very hard. Would definitely come back!
Plenty of space for all of us. We’ll stocked with cooking utensils, serving bowls, etc. lots of outdoor toys. Unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate for us so adults went to wineries and breweries. The swings were great. The 2 and 4 yr olds liked the library in town and the playground near the state park. Overall good experience.
Me and 11 other girls stayed here for my bachelorette party recently. We loved it! It was the perfect size for all of us. The bedrooms fit everyone perfect and comfortably. The location is beautiful, waking up and looking out at the water just makes a day start better in my opinion. The three bathrooms worked perfectly for 12 high maintenance ladies. The common area is large and inviting so everyone can still be together but doing their own thing. The kitchen was a great size for our breakfast and mimosas. We did a lot of activities downtown TC/the peninsulas and the drive was not bad at all. The owners were super helpful with any questions we had. Also take advantage of the paddle boards and kayak’s. The only thing I would say which is nothing again the property because I will for sure stay there again is just not a lot of mirrors when multiple people are getting ready. But nonetheless we loved it!
We visited for a 3 night stay. This property was very clean and beautiful upon arrival. The location was quiet and right on the water. As a parent of young children there is plenty for them to do. Basic supplies are supplied by the owners so you don’t have to worry about packing extra paper products or cleaning products. All communications were answered quickly. They have a ton of outdoor items available for use. A wonderful property, great for families!
This place was one of the cleanest properties I’ve rented. The owners are very informative and quick to reply to any questions I had. We had a great time staying here.
My boyfriend and I came up here with two other couples for a relatively COVID-safe vacation. We had a great time. The house is very close to the Interlochen Arts school / camp, which was closed for the pandemic at the time. That made the area around the house very quiet and low key (I imagine in non-pandemic times the area is more busy and full of teenagers though). I’m used to the lakes up in Wisconsin (Lake Geneva, Lauderdale Lakes, etc.), and this lake is much quieter than those, with fewer boats. May have just been the pandemic / time of year, but even when we went out on the weekend in late August, there were only maybe 3 other boats and a few jet skiers. I found it more relaxing and enjoyable to be out on the water that way. We were able to rent a pontoon boat a for a few days. The service dropped it off at a nearby boat launch and we just drove over to pick it up. Would recommend that. Especially because you can’t really effectively swim off the pier—the lake around the house itself is quite shallow.
The local grocery store was close and well-stocked. There are a few decent takeout spots. It’s not a bad drive to Traverse, where there are more restaurants.
The house itself is in pretty good shape, and comfortable. Beds cozy, very well stocked with towels (including beach towels). The kitchen has all the essentials. We were able to cook a pretty elaborate four course meal without running into issues. There is one thing we had to work around, which the owners cannot control so I don’t consider it a “ding,” but that future renters may want to know: the tap water does not taste good. It’s very metallic. So plan to bring jugs / bottles of water, especially if you plan to be cooking things like rice or pasta.
There’s a good size yard off to the side, which was great for outdoor games. Plenty of room for cornhole and spike ball.
Overall a great spot at a reasonable price. Would recommend.
Our overall first impression was very good. We were greeted by the cleaning gal who had said that the previous renters had left the place in a mess. We had a 3 pm check in, but did not get in until close to 5.....BUT there was plenty to do outside. The yard was great for setting up our games. The area right outside the back slider was roomy for all of us to gather. The little people loved the swings. The house was large enough for all of us. Beds were extremely comfortable. Kitchen was large and had everything in it you could imagine. The owner took care of a couple of things immediately. Communication was great with Kevin. The lake was very quiet....easy for us to take out our wave runner (and let the grandkids have at it)! Boating was great. Traverse City is close by....spend some time there. All in all, I would recommend this house! I think the big thing that was missing was a small beach area or a cleaner area close to shore where the grandkids could enter the water right from the property. We did swim off the boat which worked out fine. Very nice area!
My family and I spent a wonderful week at this beautiful waterfront home. It had everything we could ask for; perfect size, clean and breathtaking views. On top of all that, our host had water toys available for our use.
Thank you Kevin for everything. I would highly recommend your home to anyone looking for the perfect getaway. It’s secluded enough to enjoy privacy, but also close enough to enjoy northern Michigan’s wineries, spectacular lakes and quaint towns.
The house was great. Lots of comfortable beds and rooms. A nice beach / cottage feel. Great time!
Beautiful lake and close to stores and shopping. A great rental place for our family. House was fully equipped. We rented a pontoon for the day to explore the lake. Fun times!

Jess,
Thank you for the wonderful review. Emir and I are glad your family enjoyed your time. We hope to have you and your family back in the near future!
Sincerely,
Kevin
This property is beautiful inside and out! We had a large group stay for 4 days. We chose this location because it was a short drive from downtown Traverse City but you still got that small town up north cabin feel. The entire lakehouse was very clean and fully stocked with everything we needed and more. Its on a large lake but it was very quiet, we were able to enjoy taking out the paddle boards and kayaks. I also appreciated that the property manager responded quickly to all of our questions before and during our stay. We will be returning.

My goals when visiting an area is to find a new unique meal that will leave my taste buds dancing, try a local micro brew, and have an unforgettable time.
Besides traveling, I try and stay active with road biking, hiking through the local parks and nature trails, and get on the water with the pontoon.
My goal with hosting is to be able to share a wonderful northern Michigan experience with as many vacationers as possible. I try my best to make the week as care free as possible.
