We have COMPLETELY RENOVATED our beach cottage and can't wait to share it with our wonderful guests!
Saltmeadow house is located on one of the most desirable stretches of oceanfront property in Eastern North Carolina. If what you are looking for is a modern NC beach cottage experience, it doesn't get any better than this! This "Saltmeadow House" is a 1600 sq/ft 2nd row ocean view house with just the right ambience you need to relax, de-stress and enjoy your time at the beach. Our new/larger front porch will surely impress! This 2 Master, 4 bedroom 3.5 bath oasis can comfortably accommodate up to 8 people.
Kick back, relax and let all your troubles melt away as you vacation at Saltmeadow. Saltmeadow is located one mile from the Surf City Pier making it minutes from shopping, dining, and two playgrounds and has everything you would need for a memorable, fun family vacation or a relaxing getaway.
Prop up your feet, soak in the sunrise and gaze at the rolling waves from the large front porch as you enjoy your morning cup of coffee. When you are ready to hit the beach, the access is conveniently located just across the street. As you return, a private outdoor shower is equipped with hot water for you to rinse off the salt and sand.
The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, breakfast counter with stools, dishes, pots/pans and all you need to make cooking easy and enjoyable. A reverse osmosis water maker provides filtered water to the ice maker and a tap at the kitchen sink. A water softener ensures that the typical “hard” beach water doesn’t affect your showers or clothes washing.
We have provided exterior security cameras and motion lighting for your security.

The perfact paradise

This gorgeous spacious vacation home is perfection! My family and I couldnt have found a better home away from home, and just steps to the beach! The host John is kind, informative, and very helpful. Already looking forward to our return for next summer 2026!

Absolutely FANTASTIC Stay

This property, and the owner, are fantastic and provided an amazing place for my family vacation. Our group which included ages 2-65 were happy and comfortable. The house provides separation for privacy when needed and great space to be together the rest of the time. The porch is the best I’ve experienced in Topsail. So close to the beach, not a single complaint from my 4 yr old or 65 yr old father. One of the best family vacations and this house only made it better.

Great family getaway

Our family enjoyed time with some of the extended family in this home. The walk to the beach was so easy and quick. The house is comfortable and peaceful. Two king beds was great for our group! John is readily available for help if needed. We rented some umbrellas and chairs and enjoyed our beach week tremendously.

Family Beach Trip 2023

We loved our stay in this beautiful home! We have stayed in the area many times in many different homes over the last several years and this house was one of the best! The location is excellent; close to amenities and the beach but also very quiet. The house was exceptionally clean and had all that we needed for a comfortable stay. Perfect Family Vacation

Gorgeous house, perfectly planned with the access through the bathrooms. House was completely furnished for us to cook and stay in some nights, and on nights we didn’t want to cook, the house was located close to restaurants. The location of this house across the street from the beach access was amazing, and the road itself was off the main road and was quiet. Perfect for a walk or a run or to just sit on the porch and listen to the waves. We would book this house again in a heartbeat!

Surf City spectacular!

Almost a year to the day we stayed at John’s fabulous beach house and, yet again, it didn’t disappoint. An incredibly comfortable home and efficient layout. Only a couple minor issues that needed addressing and John’s response was immediate and complete. We will definitely return!! 🏖😎🎉

Excellent beach getaway

This is an excellent place to relax and enjoy the beach. The furnishings of the house are clean and bright with lots of great details. You can stand at the kitchen sink and look at the ocean! The outdoor space was also perfect with views to the ocean and plenty of seating options. And beach access is so close it's as good as being on the ocean. The owner checked with us to make sure all was well which was much appreciated. He truly cares about the experience his guests have! We will be back!

Beach Vacation 2023 in Surf City

My daughter picked this beautiful home. There were going to be six of us, 4 adults and 2 children. She does not liked to be in really cramped spaces and this home was perfect for us. The boys had each had their own bed. The other grandmother and I had the master bedrooms each with their own bathrooms and my daughter and son in law had their own bedroom and had a Jack & Jill bathroom which they shared with their sons. Mr Harriss was the perfect host and checked in with me during the week to make sure everything was OK. I would have rented the house again for next year but due to both boys playing baseball we are limited to one week and that week was already booked. We truly loved our stay at Salt Meadow House. Thank you Mr. Harriss.

Best Beach Rental in 30 Years of Renting!!

This was our first time in Surf City and we felt that this was the best beach rental on the island! The location is only steps from the beach, it was way closer than I thought! This house is fully and beautifully renovated, and has views of the ocean from the front porch, living and dining rooms, and the kitchen! The front porch is lined with 6 heavy duty rocking chairs that were perfect for morning coffee and evening cocktails. All of our needs were met from the fully stocked kitchen to the four spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds, TVs, and beautiful glass enclosed showers. The layout of the house is open and very comfortable. There are two master bedrooms! The renovated house was magazine perfect. Every detail of the home was well thought out, just amazing. The owner is extremely responsive and he seemed to sincerely enjoy that we were enjoying our stay. He even checked in with us to make sure the house was meeting all of our needs. This house allowed us to have the best beach vacation ever and we can’t wait to stay there again!! I wholeheartedly recommend this vacation rental for everyone who wants a perfect beach vacation.

Amazing Beach House!

This is one of the nicest beach rentals our family has stayed at! Recently renovated (and done well), this one story beach house has everything you need! Comes with bed linens, towels, bath mats, wash cloths, AND beach towels! We really appreciated the toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, dishwasher pods, and hand soap already supplied. The kitchen had everything we needed: a nice coffee pot that can make a carafe or single Keurig cup, plenty of pots and pans, spices, plates and silverware. Even Ziploc bags and cling wrap! We also enjoyed the charcoal grill out front. The best part was the view of the ocean, the sound of the waves, six rocking chairs on the porch, and the close proximity to the beach access...it's literally steps away. Had no issues getting back and forth to the beach with a toddler and being 34 weeks pregnant! Loved that the house was off the main road but still like 3-5 minutes from everything! The outdoor shower has hot water. Loved the outside doors that go directly into the primary bathrooms...that way you don't track sand and water through the house. The only things missing were curtains in the bedrooms and maybe some beach chairs! Our family would definitely stay here again!

Look no further for a dream beach stay…

The Salt Meadow House, conveniently tucked close to Surf City, but far enough away to be private is a Topsail MUST. The house is so bright, well maintained (SO CLEAN!), and has great views of the ocean…and the ocean is so close! The porch is amazing- comfortable, relaxing and perfect for a beach read. The house itself is very spacious, with easy access from below. We found way more stocked than was needed- everything about the house was exceptional. The open, airy living room/dining room/kitchen was perfect for fellowship- and the bedrooms provided a respite when needed. One of the nicest things we never knew we needed was access to two bathrooms from the outside! It was so nice to be able to come in from the beach and slip right inside to the bathroom. In addition, the owner was so helpful and gracious. This house is a hidden gem, and we suggest you run, not walk, to make your reservation at the Salt Meadow House. We simply could not recommend it more.

The PERFECT place

This house was as close to perfect as we could get for a beach vacation for our family of 5. 2 teens and a 20 year old- everyone had their own space, room, bathroom and TVs. When we would all hit our wall of family fun- we could retreat, chill and come back together later! The decor and design of the house is modern and clean without being cold. A touch of beach without being overdone. Bedding is suuuper comfy and the bathrooms are beautifully designed. Access to the beach is excellent! And the location of the house is close to restaurants etc for a night out. We really really loved this place!

SaltMeadow is our all time favorite beach house!!

Over the years, our family has vacationed in several properties in Surf City and North Topsail. SaltMeadow is, hands down, the best. Our family of 6 adults and 2 children stayed from 6/24-7/1/23. We loved everything about this beautiful house. From the well stocked kitchen, amazing bathrooms, comfortable beds and nicely furnished open living and dining space, we couldn’t have asked for more. The icing on the cake is the large covered porch with 6 rocking chairs and an ocean view. A big bonus was having the beach access just a few steps away. This property has more than adequate parking and nighttime lighting for parking area and stairs. John made the checkin process beyond easy and was quick to answer any questions we had. We would highly recommend this property for a wonderful beach stay!!!
