Modern cabin with sea view on island 5 min from Vaxholm

This beautiful house is located on Edholma island, just 5 minutes from the capital of the archipelago; Vaxholm. Built as late as in 2011, with modern design asthetics and light color choices, its a perfect getaway both for cozy winter week-ends and lazy summer days. Right in front of the house you have the ocean where you can swim from a small pier shared with two friendly neighbours.

Edholma is a car-free, calm and lush island in the central Stockholm archipelago. From the Waxholmsboat pier you walk along a small path for 15 minutes to get to the house. Along the way you will pass a small beach which is perfect for swimming with small children. As you approach the house, you will notice the nature changing from a rocky forest to old farmlands. If you continue past the house you arrive at an old mill where Midsummer is celebrated every year.

Edholma is perfectly located for day trips to the northern and outer archipelago, since its trafficked so often by Waxholmsbolaget. If you need something, Vaxholm itself is always nearby, and you can even take the boat straight to Stocholm and back for a day or afternoon in the city.

How to get to Edholma

Bus & Waxholmsboat

Take the blue bus 670 from Tekniska Högskolan in central Stockholm. The trip only takes 30 minutes and leaves every 30 minutes from early morning to late evening. You can also take the same bus from Danderyds Sjukhus north of Stockholm. This is a connection point for many other buses, as well as the Mörby Centrum (red line) subway from T-centralen.

When you arrive in Vaxholm, change to a boat bound for Edholma. You pay for the trip with SL-card or by purchasing a ticket on the boat.

Waxholmsboat

Take the Waxholmsboat from Strömkajen in central Stockholm, either bound directly to Edholma or by changing in Vaxholm. The trip takes 1h 15 - 1h 30 depending on the change. Each boat has a small restaurant and if the weather is good its nice to sit on the deck and watch the islands pass by as the boat leaves the city and enters the archipelago.
