About this property

The Country Dome Home is a comfortable and romantic experience.

The Country Dome Home is located next to a lush green forest, on a field overlooking a beautiful orchard. The dome is perfect for a retreat from work, world cares, and stress. Birdsongs will greet you each morning. Relax, eat or read while sipping your morning tea or coffee. Do some yoga. After a day at Lake Michigan, or browsing Saugatuck, Douglass, and Holland shops, galleries, and restaurants, the evening winds down with bullfrogs croaking, crickets chirping, owls hooting and coyotes singing. Thousands of fireflies rising from the prairie at twilight is magical. Sit around the campfire in roasting your s'mores, and watching the embers. One bundle of wood is included with a two night stay. More firewood is available at the Deer Blind for $10 per bundle.
The Country Dome Home is off the grid. Low level solar lights guide the way. On the back of a solar light inside the tent is a USB port for charging your phone.
While the Country Dome Home shares a space with Red Spirit Retreat, the tent is in a private location. A large shade tent provides a cool space to sit on hot days, as well as has a dispenser with 3 gallons of clean water, a propane grill and cooler. Being off the grid allows you to really pay attention to, and to enjoy the natural world all around you. Two yoga mats, stored at the Deer Blind, are available for camper’s use. There is a personal composting toilet in a privacy tent. A shade tent next to the dome is a great place for cooking, eating, or reading. Parking is next to the dome. In September, when the nights are getting chilly a wood stove provides a warm atmosphere. There is an antra blanket in a box under the bed.
While there is contactless entry. I am almost always available by phone or text. I am happy to share secrets about the best beaches, restaurants, vegan and vegetarian fare, tourist fun, and places to see and go to. My business partner lives on and owns the property and is often nearby, but please call me first on any problems or questions that you have. If you have disabilities, please message me to see if the Country Dome Home can suit your needs. There are two steps to get into the Country Dome Home.
Please remove your shoes in the tent. Close all windows and doors when you leave in case of rain. Damages will be charged if the rug gets wet. No smoking in the tent. Contact me about small events. No pets.

Birthday getaway
I surprised my boyfriend with this unique getaway for his birthday weekend. I wanted something romantic, with nice views, and to camp without all the extra hard work that comes long with tent camping. The dome did not disappoint! We enjoyed a beautiful night under the stars and we even saw starlink go past in the sky! We thought it was aliens at first lol. We used the grill the next morning for breakfast, and we even woke up to watch the sunrise. It was a fun experience and I wish we had more time.

Unique enjoyable experience
The property is exactly as described. Sandra is extremely responsive and we enjoyed our stay. The dome was comfortable even without air conditioning in early August's 80+ degree weather. Even with other campers nearby, the field was relatively private. People do wander into the field on occasion but kept to themselves. The composting toilet was our biggest concern but it was easy to use.

Loved it!
We had a blast and will definitely be going back! We did have a random truck. Stop back and make a big turn around. That was kind of funny. We were being intimate outside lol absolutely loved it and next time we will make sure we bring some coffee.

Romantic Getaway
Overall this was an amazing glamping experience. Very clean and comfortable dome. Bathroom is it what it is. Blackstone unfortunately did not work, but did have a fresh propane tank. Have already recommend to several friends/family. Great idea and location. Only suggestion would be to offer a “romance package” where rose petals and lights are scattered about, with a bottle of celebratory champagne. I improvised and did those things myself, but would have paid the extra $$$ if offered.

I am an artist working in paper making, my husband is a geologist. I love to travel for art or family purposes and meet people. I usually go to museums, artist residencies, or hiking when we travel. As a guest we will take care of your home as our own. As a host I will welcome you wholeheartedly, whether I get to greet you in person or not.

Why they chose this property

I loved the beautiful, stylish nature of the Country Dome Home and I wanted to stay in it myself. I decorated it with a minimalist yet cozy space. family heirlooms and antiques, but with a cozy comfy flair. The land that the tent is sitting on is not only beautiful but has the lovely sounds of bullfrogs at night. The stars fill the sky like a million tiny diamonds. In June the fireflies rise out of the ground in a splendid, magical display.

What makes this property unique

While the dome is surrounded on two sides with forest it also has a view that flows for miles and miles across Michigan farmland. While the dome is a private space it is still within a few miles of Lake Michigan beaches, great restaurants, and the quaint towns of Fennville, Holland, Saugatuck, and Douglass. There is no need to leave the dome at all.
Besides reading, playing frisbee and corn hole, stargazing is an essential joy the dome. On a clear night the Milky Way glistens across the sky. Peepers chirp, and birdsong surrounds you. During twilight you may see deer, and wild turkey. As dusk turns into evening, there is nothing more romantic than watching thousands of fireflies silently rise from the grasses and up higher and higher until they are at the tops of the giant trees. Then the only sounds are of the crickets and bullfrogs that will lull you into a deep sleep.
