About this property

"The Love Shack" For Couples - Private Hot Tub, Meals, Pampering, Pet Sitting!

Designed to be the ultimate couples getaway!  This small cottage is located on our 20 acre farm, newly remodeled, and comes with a ton of extras designed to make your stay relaxing and private.  And because we're local and live on the property, we can save you time and money by providing things that you don't have to stop at the store to get, or bulky items that are hard to travel with.   This is also a great option for couples traveling with an infant, as we have all the necessities to make things easy.

Arrive to a fully stocked kitchen with drinks, snacks, local produce when in season, fresh eggs and items to make your own breakfast. Condiments, coffee, cream/sugar are also provided.
Meal prep and grocery shopping available for additional fee (although I love to cook for people, so I'm usually always willing to make you a meal for free)

The kitchenette has a coffee maker, microwave, full size fridge/freezer, air fryer, toaster oven, griddle, and convection stovetop.  There is also a small gas grill for outdoor use.

Couples focused games and books

Private beach patio with hot tub (seasonal) fire pit, outdoor table and chairs.  We supply wood, and will even start your fires for you in the evening if you want (smores included!)

Beach gear, baby gear, bikes - can all be borrowed, along with any kitchen needs you don't want to buy.

Need to work or work out?  The neighboring building has a small gym and desk, as well as a smart TV, A/C and heat.

There is a large pool and another hot tub next to the main home that can be used by request.

Our farm, named for our 4 children's Eight Bare Feet that are often running around, is located halfway between South Haven and Saugatuck, making it a great location for visiting either city.  We are surrounded by wineries, farmers markets and u-pick farms, and just a few miles from several beaches.  Our farm faces the west, so the sunsets over the fields are incredible.  Our farm field is currently planted with soybeans, and we have indoor dogs, indoor/outdoor cats, free range chickens and local bees. 
Although it is a busy place, it is incredibly quiet here and you will have the best sleep of your life!

We are local to the area, and can help you plan anything you want to do here, and even give you a ride if you are in a pinch.  We are happy to provide anything extra you need for your stay - if we don't have it, we probably know someone who does!
As parents of 4 children under 10 years old, we understand the need for parents and couples to get away and focus on themselves.  We want your stay with us to be relaxing and for you to have all the privacy you want.  We are looking forward to sharing our property with you!

The perfect little getaway! This small quaint home in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful sunset views over the land, peaceful romantic hot tub, and the absolute sweetest hosts. Probably one of the most comfortable beds we’ve slept in at a Vrbo… kind of want to purchase one for our house.. The night we arrived, the kitchen was stocked with snacks and drinks, she even brought us some cake.. which was delicious!! Anything you need she’d be happy to get you! We can’t wait to come back!

This was our 2nd time staying here. We absolutely love it!! The home was stocked with snacks, eggs, fresh breads and even items to make s’mores in the fire pit! Our stay was so lovely! We came for my birthday and Audrey left us a bottle of Prosecco chilling when we first arrived, in addition to many other snacks and treats. She also made us a delicious brunch on our last day. The space was really comfortable and we loved the amenities, from the fire pit to the hot tub. We were really able to relax. We hope to come back!

We got away for one last weekend before we welcome our first baby next month. Audrey was such a sweet host and even turned the hot tub down to a temperature that was safe for me to use! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would 10/10 recommend. The coziest little house, comfortable bed, and relaxing back yard! Amazing time in South Haven

My partner and I stayed for a long weekend and had an absolutely lovely time. Audrey was wonderful and had great recommendations for nearby restaurants. The fresh eggs and snacks she provided were delicious. The home was clean and cozy and we loved snacking on the raspberries planted nearby. The absolute highlight of the weekend was kit kat, the farm cat that loved to cuddle. It was a very relaxing getaway and we can’t wait to come back.

Wonderful place to stay.

This is one of our more memorable Vrbo stays. The location is special and Audrey went above and beyond any other host we have had in the past to ensure we had a great stay. While the location is a short drive from places to visit, it is centrally located between multiple wonderful destinations and the fact it is a short drive makes it a wonderfully relaxing place to stay. We felt extremely welcomed and relaxed in our surroundings. We would definitely recommend to others.

Lovely getaway!

The property was darling and well-stocked - hospitality was also perfect with thoughtful and generous hosts. Upon arrival there was a delicious homemade snack (so thoughtful given my long travel day) and a fridge full of goodies. The bed was comfy and the space had everything I needed. I spent so much time with my family that I didn’t have time to enjoy all of the special treats like the hot tub, the s'more's kit, and the host’s sweet offer for a delicious breakfast, but I’ll certainly be back and will enjoy during my next stay.

Relaxing Getaway!

Charming, quiet, delightful little "cottage style" place. Perfect for our 25th Anniversary. Host was very accommodating, bringing us a home-made dinner our first night there and having a beautiful bouquet of fresh cut flowers for us when we arrived. Short drive to the town of South Haven. We are HAPPY repeat visitors to this property and it has become a highlight of our summer! We have a family home 20 minutes away that we stay most of the day, but is filled to the brim for special occasions so we are very happy to escape to our 8 BARE FEET getaway!There are so many amenities, goodies, and surprises that Audrey and Andrew provide, it could verywell be a stand alone vacation destination as well!We look forward to figuring out how to create our next adventure that involves still another stay! Perfect Country Escape!

This is the perfect place to stay for two people! It is close enough to town to spend all day in South Haven and not worry about the drive, but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet. Audrey is an amazing host, she went into town to get us gluten free snacks and bread, and had a fridge stocked with options for us. She responded quickly and brought us anything we might need!

A Hidden Gem

Audrey and Andy were the best VRBO hosts! The well-stocked fridge was amazing and included many local seasonal favorites as well as farm-fresh eggs. The cottage was very modern and comfortable. The little patio and hot tub added a special charm. Our dogs enjoyed the outdoor space as well. The entire visit was peaceful and romantic. We hope to return there in the future!

Perfect peaceful getaway

We had an amazing time getting away from the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. Audrey was the best host, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay! The property is very beautiful and extremely peaceful, watching the sunset from the hot tub was an added bonus! Our puppy Rubie, had the best weekend here too and loved running around in the yard! Thank you for your amazing hospitality Audrey, we had the best time!

We are local to the area, we both grew up in the area and Andy's parents still live on the same farm about two miles away.

Why they chose this property

Andy grew up in Casco Township and after college bought a house in the same area. After being married for a few years, we watched this beautiful property sit empty and go into foreclosure. We worked hard to buy it and have been happily improving it for 11 years.

What makes this property unique

This property has everything for people who enjoy quiet, country life. A great view, quiet street, all within 15 minutes of anything we need. In the last few years we've remodeled outbuildings, added an inground pool and lots of spaces for our kids to play and us to relax. We even have our own backyard beach.
