About this property
A Beautiful Longerre Farmhouse set in the heart of Burgundy
Le Buisson is one of the small friendly hamlets that make up Sainte Colombe Sur Loing.
Gite de Pete is part of a traditional longerre, built around 1850 of Burgundy Limestone, the outside has been rendered and is tastefully painted to reflect the local colours, the interior has been sympathetically renovated, while retaining traditional high beamed ceilings and fireplaces with cosy log burners.
Our home is the second half of the longerre, separated and in it’s own grounds, giving you privacy, but we are available should you need anything.
We are also able to provide breakfast - croissants and pastries, as well as extra coffee for the machine. An evening meal can also be provided, each evening, with notice when booking
Saint Sauveur en Puisaye, the nearest town with a B1 supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, post office and bank is 8 kilometres from Gite de Pete
St Sauveur is famous for being the birthplace of the much admired novelist Colette. Her house, now open to public after a lengthy restoration and the Colette Museum are very popular visitor destinations.
Guedelon, the amazing castle project, only 9 kilometres from Gite de Pete, is the focus of an experimental archaeology project to build a 13th castle and it’s environment using period, dress, techniques and materials
We are just 2 hours drive south of Paris and are close to the town of Auxerre, administrative capital of the Yonne region.
Auxerre is an inland port with a quaint old town and ancient religious buildings.
The Abbaye Saint German goes back deep into the Dark Ages, 1500 years ago and has the earliest Christian frescos in France, in it’s Frankish crypt.
The centre of Auxerre is a designated a protected zone and has an amazing amount of medieval buildings to admire.
Toucy is famous for it’s Saturday market voted 5th best in France. It has a beautiful lakeside picnic spot in a park, and several supermarkets, as well as a pedestrian area with specialty shops and bars
We are only 35 minutes from the vineyards of Chablis, Puilly, Sancerre, Irancy and Saint Bris.
The area is also ideal for Anglers, Cyclists and Ramblers
