About this property

Paradise Found Quiet Beachfront with Pool/ Great Family House

Near the end of a kilometer-long palm tree lined beachfront dirt road lies Paradise Found. This rustic beach house, less than two hours from the San Jose International Airport, invites you to unwind Costa Rican style on the beautiful and quiet beach of Esterillos Este.

The two-story three bedroom home is steps away from the deserted sands of the Central Pacific Coast of Esterillos Este.  The jungle estuary borders the backyard.

The downstairs boasts an open floorplan with equipped kitchen, eating area, lounge area and half bath.  A large wraparound covered porch serves as the perfect place to gather and/or dine alfresco.

The three roomy upper bedrooms, all open onto the upper lanai where guests can slip from their bedroom to relax in a rocking chair or hammock and enjoy spectacular ocean views or be mesmerized by the surf as it rolls along the shore.

The bedrooms include:  a queen suite with private bath and hot shower,  a queen and full sized suite with private bath and hot shower, and a double bed suite with two double beds and a half bath.

There is a separate cabina for two with a full-size bed and half bathroom.  This is not included in the rental. Special arrangements can be made to additionally rent this ‘owner’s unit’  with the main residence.

There is plenty of room to park your car on the property within the wooden gates for added peace of mind.

Wake up to the sounds of the surf and the calls of colorful birds. Enjoy spectacular sunrise and sunsets right from your front door. Walk the endless beach. Surf, boogie board, fish.  Rediscover nature.  All of this and more, away from the  commercialized tourist stops in Costa Rica.

Reconnect with your family or friends as you eat your meals together inside or outside on the covered porch (you just might be treated to an incredible lightning storm) or just relax with a book by the pool.  You may be lucky enough to view families of white faced monkeys leaping high overhead in the backyard. (Peeled bananas are a good enticement.)

Local caretakers live in a separate cabina on the property. Jennifer will prepare delicious Costa Rican meals for a nominal fee. Son Daniel speaks English and can help you navigate your way around Costa Rica.

After enjoying time in the pool or warm waters of the Pacific Ocean rinse off in one of two outdoor showers; one with an ocean view, the other with jungle views.

On Esterillos Este Beach there are several restaurants within walking distance: from under a mile to a little over a mile stroll along the sand. Both fine and casual dining are available. There are a few small markets in the villages of Esterillos Oeste and Bejuco, about a 10 minute drive.  There are larger markets in Parrita, and Jaco located within a 20 minute drive on the paved highway.

Massages, canopy/ziplining, whitewater rafting Manuel Antonio National Park, Mangrove Monkey Tour, Sunset horseback riding, golf, fishing, hiking and more can all be found less than 45 minutes away.

Make your reservations today and start living the Pura Vida!

Enjoyed every moment!
We stayed 9 days at Paradise Found and can't wait to return. The location is unbeatable if you're looking for privacy and a peaceful, uncrowded beach. This was just our speed. We'd wake up and have coffee on the balcony while watching the birds, walk/swim along the beach, dip in the pool (which was kept perfect & clean thanks to the kind caretaker, José), then head out to explore midday before making it back to a spectacular sunset night after night. This location is ideal for short day trips to nearby national parks (make sure to book tickets in advance to Manuel Antonio), farmers markets in Jacó or Quepos, and other adventures. A rental car is a must. The house is perfectly clean and stocked with everything you need. We overpacked -- just bring your suits, sun block, and be ready to have the best time in such a beautiful country. I could go on and on about the kindness of the people, the fruit, the landscape, everything. The vacation of our dreams.

The perfect beach retreat
When selecting a VBRO for our Costa Rican vacations we have three requirements- on the beach, away from crowds, and in our budget. Paradise Found was a perfect fit. The home is in a quiet neighborhood with not much traffic. Small town near by for groceries and a few good restaurants. The majority of tourists go north to Jaco or South to Manuel Antonio so during the week there is very few people on the beach. The beach is spectacular! It was so nice not to have to pack up to go to the beach, it’s Right out the front door - clean, flat, expensive, sand, not rocky. Great for walking, running, even biking. We did a lot of body surfing and boogie boarding. The garage at the house is full of boogie boards, surf boards, and bikes to use. There are also beach chairs available, in the evenings we would cook our dinner and take it to the beach and watch the set. The house is clean, well maintained and adequately supplied. We enjoyed the outdoor spaces, we spent a lot of time reading and playing games on the porch and balcony. The views are beautiful and the pool refreshing. We thoroughly enjoyed stay at Paradise Found.

Great location and getaway
This was a great place to get away from the touristy areas and enjoy a relaxing week on a quiet beach. The house was definitely rustic but in a good way. The most rustic part was having no A/C so make sure you are comfortable at night sleeping with fans blowing to try and keep things cool. Having the pool was wonderful as it helped cool things off after being on the beach all day. The kitchen was well stocked and we were relieved that the blender worked well. This might sound trivial, but we like to make smoothies from all of the fresh fruit and having a good blender is key. We cooked meals in the house half of the time and is was never a problem finding the dishes, pots or utensils to complete the job. Jose the caretaker set up the horseback ride for us was available if we needed something. I had to work while I was here and the internet worked fairly well as I was able to navigate most websites quickly and use applications from work without lag. I did run into problems with wifi calling on my cellphone which was unstable for several phone calls. Overall great stay and we would go back in a heartbeat.

Beautiful Location
Our first time to costa Rica was amazing! We stayed here for 8 nights with my parents and our 2 kids. House is on some amazing property. Right across from the beach. We collected so many shells! Amazing to walk out the bedroom and see the ocean. Kids loved the pool. The location is 20 out of 10. Peaceful. Lots of Privacy. Only a few people drove passed. This location was central to all the activities we had planned. Seriously an amazing location. We were not prepared for the humidity of Costa Rica. We knew it was going to be warm but did not factor in 80% humidity. Sleeping, at night, with no AC was a challenge. We knew the house didn't have AC and hoped there was fans. Which there are in the bedrooms. Would have liked the house to be a little more bug and critter proofed. We kept the bedroom doors closed at all times. And tried to keep the mainfloor locked up too. There are gaps in the ceiling in the bedroom we stayed in. A cockroach fell on us one night. Lizards are everywhere which my kids loved catching them. But still prefer them and roaches to stay outside. Overall we had an amazing time! Definitely will be back to Costa Rica!

My husband, my three children and I love the beach - from surfing, to relaxing with a good book. We live on the central coast of California and have enjoyed traveling all over the world. One of our favorite places is our simple home on the beach of this lovely stretch of Costa Rican sand!

Why they chose this property

We purchased our home on the beach after falling in love with Costa Rica. The weather, the people, the scenery, were all so beautiful...and this location on Este Esterillios felt like we had gone back to a purer, simpler time of life. Our family and friends from Germany to California have enjoyed spending many carefree hours here and we have been happy to share our 'rustic paradise' with people from all over the globe.

What makes this property unique

If you are looking to step back in time and reconnect with friends, family and nature, this is your place. The beach is generally secluded and we are off the beaten path of frenetic tourists. This is one of the few places you will be lucky enough to enjoy both breathtaking sunrises and stunning sunsets from the same brown sand beach!
