About this property
Cozy Log Cabin In The Woods - Friends And Families Welcome!
Nice and cozy 2 bed, 2 bath log home. Sleeps 8 comfortably, could sleep 10 utilizing the futon couches in the living area. Two floors with the main floor holding 1 bedroom and both bathrooms. Second floor is an open loft and bedroom in the back. Wake up to nature all around you in a quiet neighborhood just outside of town. Have Coffee on the Porch while you plan your day.
Great fishing in the area including King, Sockeye, and Silver Salmon, Rainbow Trout, and Dolly Vardens. Fishing is fairly steady from mid-June to late September depending on what you want to catch and what river you fish. The house site contain a fish processing shed with commercial vacuum sealer and a 10.5 cu.ft. freezer, large enough for everyone’s catch.
Soldotna is centrally located in the Kenai Peninsula. You will be located 5 mins from the Kenia River. 20 mins from the Kasilof River. You will be in close driving distances to Homer, Coopers Landing, Seward, Russian River, and Ninilchik River. All perfect places for fishing, site seeing, golfing and shopping. One of our favorite thing to do is in Kenia on the shores of the Cook Inlet when the tide is out rock hunting for Agates, and Geodes. There is something for everyone's tastes.

About the host
Hosted by Cheryl Lyttle

We are the Lyttles. We live in Michigan over by the Grand Rapids area near Lake Michigan. We, like so many people, went to Alaska on a vacation and fell in love with the place. If we could have we would have moved right then. We love hunting, fishing, camping, everything to do with being outdoors and experiencing the wonders of nature and the world around us. Alaska has all those things and more for us. We love our home in Michigan but we enjoy every minute we spend in Alaska. So we are hoping to do both.
Why they chose this property
We like this location because Soldotna is such a great place. It is centrally located to all the places we love to visit when we are on the Alaskan Kenai Penisula. We can travel short distances to go fishing, shopping and exploring. It also has all the things we wanted in a community. The people there are friendly and very helpful. We feel like we are home when we are there. Our plans are to eventually retire part time in Alaska, for the summer months. In the meantime, we wanted to own a piece of it, so we can go and be part of what we fell in love with every chance we can get.
What makes this property unique
We loved this house because it is a log cabin with a wonderful layout with a loft. Our daughter wanted the whole loft to herself, of course. It has a beautiful front porch that looks out into the woods. Then there is the cool fire pit in the front yard also. We love campfires and making marshmallows. We also like how close it is to town so when we need to make a run into town to get something or go out to eat. We can get anywhere we need within 5-10 mins.
