The rural accommodation 'La Rinconada House' (www.casalarinconada.com) offers you a countryside environment in Azuelo (Tierra Estella), in the Middle Zone of Navarre, which is the south westernmost point of the Spanish Pyrenees.
Azuelo is located within 10 minutes of the “Santiago pilgrimage Route” (Camino de Santiago) going through the village Torres del Rio, it is also within half an hour from Logroño and its Rioja wine cellars, one hour from Pamplona with the famous bulls running in the street during San Fermin fiesta and one hour and half from Bilbao and the Guggenheim museum.

The house is located in a village of 50 inhabitants, within a soft hilly landscape which will enable you to do hill walking and hiking in its holm-oak mountains and its Codés sierra (1.414 m high), enjoying the peacefulness of the countryside.
In the holm-oak woods that surround the village it grows "tuber melanosporum" the appreciated black truffle. There is a truffle museum in Metauten(31km).

Excellent Stay in Azuelo

This is a really special property, probably the best rented property we have stayed in. It is in in a very attractive rural setting in a small Spanish village but large towns with all facilities are quickly reachable with a car. The house itself has been beautifully and lovingly restored, and is kept clean and well maintained. The owner lives in the same village and is very approachable and friendly but discreet. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to other people who like rural settings and holidays. We particularly enjoyed the proximity of the property to the Camino de Santiago (only 10 minutes away); and the city of Logrono (half an hour by car) is accessible and attractive.

I live in Azuelo with my parents and one of my sisters. I born here and I like living here. I work in Logroño and I spend my free time binding ancient books.

Why they chose this property

The house is of my father and he was born there, it was unocupied for some time and since I was a child I like looking into the rooms and my grandparent's shop, that was on the first floor. It was very funny to return it to life and decorate it, discovering one thing to each corner.

What makes this property unique

The house is located in a calm village, in a natural enviroment of easy access that permit confortable walks. We are 10 minutes from the Camino de Santiago in Torres del Rio. This does the house a perfect place to do some strechs of the route. Also, from the house we can do one day excursions were we can enjoy the rioja's wines and it's wine cellars or the modern art of the guggemheim of Bilbao. Near Azuelo there are monumental villages like Estella, Laguardia or Puente la Reina.
