Stunning views of the Luberon near Gordes 4 bed Family House and heated pool
The house is situated amongst a hectare of olives with beautiful views of the Luberon. The sitting room is the feature of the house with vaulted ceiling and a large open fireplace. Light coloured stone floors throughout keep the house cool The 4 bedrooms are light and airy, fitted with ceiling fans. Two of which have en suite shower rooms. There is also a family shower room upstairs and a bathroom downstairs near the fourth bedroom. The 3 upstairs rooms have air conditioning. The downstairs room is much cooler and we find the fan is sufficient The kitchen is modern and well equipped, with a SMEG range and air conditioning . There is a table large enough for everyone to eat around. There is an additional open dining room beside the terrace for very hot days, although we usually eat at the table on the terrace under the tree The 10 metre heated pool is surrounded by ample sunbeds for everyone, which can be placed in full sun or under a shady umbrella If you having cocktails before lunch or dinner, you can sit on the comfy wicker sofa and chairs, alternatively go to the west facing sundeck We have recently built a sundeck in the trees, completely hidden from view but with breathtaking sunset vistas
This area is full of unspoilt hill top villages with their weekly markets, to explore either by car, foot or on bicycle. Gordes and Menerbes within 5 miles. Les Baux and Les Alpilles are 45 minutes away, or if you feel like a day beside the sea, Cassis is just over an hours drive. Electric and mountain bikes can be rented from the many shops in the village. If you would rather go on horse back there is horse trekking from an ecole d'equitation a few kilometres away.

Beautiful property with amazing backyard. Stayed here with 6 friends and we had a lovely time. Gordes is just a short 5 minute drive but we spent most of our time enjoying the pool and gorgeous views!
We loved our stay (2 families) at this lovely house. The location was amazing.
We spent many days sitting by the pool, eating outside and enjoying the warmth of the area. The house is set out great and the facilities excellent.
Hosts were extremely accomodating
Love this house.
Our second time at this property. A lovely house with good accommodation and a lovely pool and terrace with a view to die for. We spent nearly 4 weeks there and loved every minute (even the two wet days). We had three sets of friends to stay whilst we were there and they loved it too.

Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful
A spectacularly beautiful French villa with all the amenities. We had two couples and it was perfect (An ensuite in each of our rooms.) Perched on a small ridge, with an excellent pool, it was the perfect place to explore (e.g. Gordes) and relax. 6 stars!

Quiet Comfort
Lovely house in a great location. A real home.
Sensational kitchen.... equipped to perfection. My wife made coq au vin for the first time. Quiet and comfortable. Would love to come back with better weather to enjoy the plentiful outdoor features; then perfect would be redefined Highly recommended!

I am so sorry the weather was so disappointing. Where has our lovely Spring disappeared to
I do hope that you managed to go on some of your planned trips
Truly enjoyed the location and accommodations at this secluded stone cottage located in an olive grove. Large and well-appointed kitchen, bright dining room and nicely furnished living room with speedy Wifi and many electrical outlets for our various devices. Plenty of comfortable beds and bathrooms. We particularly enjoyed outdoor dinners and use of the gas barbecue grill, and the view of the countryside from the patio and pool. The owner was very responsive to queries before and during our stay, and we truly appreciated her assistance. Would recommend to families looking for a peaceful stay in a lovely region.

Thank you Eric for taking the time to write such a comprehensive review. I am so pleased that you enjoyed staying in our house
We enjoyed a fantastic stay. The property had everything, you were left not wanting for anything. When any help was needed, Annie responded immediately. We loved the house, the pool and the surrounding area. The town of Coustellet, 5nin drive away has all that you need and the supermarket has great local food, fish and meat. Overall, a very enjoyable 2 week stay. Thanks to Amanda and Annie!

Dear Conan

Best wishes

Some aspects of the house could use updating/refreshing but overall we were very happy with our stay! Highlights were the well-stocked kitchen and living room. A bit of an ant problem on the first day but we bought spray and it did the trick. Annie was very helpful in helping us find the house on the first day!

Amazing Location, House Needs Work
I read the reviews of this property and was so excited to visit with my family. The location can’t be beat, it’s perfect for day trips around Provence and so close to Gordes. The house itself needs a lot of work - it’s poorly kept, felt very dingy (cobwebs in the shower; we had to keep our shoes on the floors were so dirty; ants were everywhere so had to use spray; toilets with black on the inside rim). We’ve stayed in European country houses before & understand they can be rustic, but this home needs some major TLC. The beds were comfortable, but the linens/towels need a refresh.

Dear Jan
I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay in our house.
Obviously things were not up to the usual standard.
The ants can be a real problem when the people before you have not been very tidy. One clean does not keep them away. I am sorry about the cobwebs, but being an old house with plastered walls it is a constant problem. I do know the towels are in need of replacing, I am bringing new ones on my next visit. Apologies. Amanda

It means so much to us
We had a fantastic stay at this absolutely super property. The location was ideal to travel to near by villages and wineries. The view of the Luberon from the property was so tranquil. The aesthetics of the interior and exterior was so fitting for the location. The kitchen was very well equipped. Amanda was very responsive and helpful. Could not have asked for anything more to have made our stay more perfect. Thank you!!!
Nous avons loué cette maison pour 6 adultes. Elle était absolument magnifique avec une vue fantastique.
Accueil très attentionné et grande disponibilité d'Annie et de son mari qui s'occupent de la maison.

About the host
Hosted by Amanda Lakin
We live mainly in the country in Sussex. My husband is a production designer and Fireworks technician. He was responsible for the Queens Jubilee display . He was also winner of the Cannes fireworks.
I have several properties in the UK, which I manage. My husband was trained as an architect and now has his own event production business
My parents built the house 40 years ago, as a holiday house and we have all spent time at the property every summer since. Our children were brought up from babyhood with holidays at the house and now return with their own friends.
Why they chose this property
We love this area as it is peaceful but there are things to do, canoeing, bicycling, walking or just visiting all the beautiful ancient hilltop villages with their individual weekly markets. The relaxed restaurants and bistrots with mainly local cuisine. You need your trainers not your stilettos
What makes this property unique
The house is very peaceful with modern amenities and very easy to manage with stone floors throughout. It is hidden from view of the neighbouring houses by the surrounding trees. There is over an acre of olive groves to explore.
