Very thoughtful, beautiful, tasteful home away from home. Centrally located to access the northern region of Kefalonia. Well equipped kitchen and supplies. Great outdoor spaces, all very private. We were sad to leave after 6 days.
The cottage has been tastefully updated and has everything one might need. The gardens include fig, olive, lemon and pomegranate trees with abundant flowering shrubs. Views of the sea and mountains are lovely from the patio. A very good taverna and small food store are easy walking distance. A car is needed to further explore. Friendly cats were welcome visitors. The house was stocked with drinks and food when we arrived to a warm welcome.
Beautiful traditional cottage in the middle of Kefalonia - lots of beautiful walks from the door and plenty of facilities just to relax and wind down. You need a vehicle to make the most of your holiday
Lovely, clean, beautiful cottage with everything you need plus lovely gifts in the fridge. Lots of shaded and sunny spots plus a BBQ area in the garden. Great view down to the coast. Comfy and relaxing place highly recommended.
Beautiful place for a couple. Good location to start to some nice places in the northern part of the island. Though in the midst of the village, cottage is back from the street, quiet and somehow secluded, i.e. hidden from street and neighbour views by a lot of nature.
The cottage is beautiful and charming and the best equipped holiday home we've eher been to. The Areal surrounding the house - with trees, flowers and several terraces is wonderful and the view stunning.
Communications and check-in were uncomplicated and easy. The only downside is when travelling with a small child you have to be very cautious with all the relatively steep steps - but this is something we were aware of and for our son it was a great adventure playground.
Absolutely recommended!
Lovely old barn like cottage with lots of character and everything you need. Fabulous outside spaces. Wonderful welcoming local taverna. Centrally located for trips out. Shops, bakery and petrol station close by. You need a car. Loved it. Has a store cupboard with snorkel kits and wet shoes .... brilliant.... all beaches in the north are pebble so don’t go anywhere without them. Stunning scenery and inviting coves everywhere. The island is quiet in October, as were the roads . The Greeks were their usual charming selves and cannot do enough for you. ❤️
We stayed at the Stone Cottage for two weeks in September. The owner, Gerry came to welcome us and show us around. Words cannot describe how perfect for us it was. It was tiny, quirky, quaint and so comfy with everything that you need. It is completely opposite to the bland faceless apartment that you normally find. The bed was extremely comfortable and we were very pleased to see fly screens covering the windows so at night we could have them open. The water was solar heated and it was lovely and hot. The garden is lovely, totally secluded and not overlooked. We loved getting up in the morning to watch the sunrise and listen to the birds. After a hot day touring/beaching we would relax on the terrace to have our apero before either having a bbq or strolling up the road 200m to the local taverna where “Mr P” and his family made us so welcome and cooked the most delicious homemade food made by his wife. We made many friends during our two weeks here. The cottage was perfectly situated in the small village but within five minutes we could drive to the local town and the best beaches within 20 minutes. There are too many to mention here.
We have both agreed that this has been the most relaxing , peaceful and perfect holiday we have ever had and 100% recommend the Stone cottage.
This delightful stone cottage (aptly named!), set in a garden of olive and lemon trees with mountain and sea views, proved ideal for a relaxed, away-from-it-all break. With a small roadside beach ten minutes drive away and two friendly tavernas 100m up the road, we loved just mooching about close to home. But it was also well placed to visit Sami, Assos and Fiscardo. One of our best holidays!
The Stone Cottage is fully equipped beyond expectation, it is both Cool in the heat of the day and a cosy retreat in the evening. The large garden provides an amazing level of privacy. The bbq in the garden and the outside cooking area was an instant success for us, we are on the island for a month and eating out too often is beyond our budget. The local taverna was a delight, good quality at reasonable prices and the owner was charming. We would love to come back next year and do it all over again. This was by far our best accommodation in ten years on the island. Well done Gerry for the welcome and Vicky for the smooth booking process.
My husband and I stayed at Kalivaki for 6 nights and found it very hard to leave. Such a beautiful cottage surrounded by an equally beautiful (and large) garden and terraces.
Everything you need to start your holiday is provided as well as many items you didn’t realise you might need.
A generous welcome package of fruit, wine and beer was also provided with everything from salt and pepper to coffee, tea, herbs and spices and the owners own delicious olive oil. We had rented a very expensive villa in Lefkada the week before and not one of the basics were provided.
The cottage is located in an ideal spot with two restaurants/tavernas only a few minutes walk from it.
A very short trip to the beautiful Myrtos beach, the port town of Agia Effimia and other points of interest.
I really can’t find the words to describe how magical our stay was.
Thank you Gerry, if we return to Kefalonia, Kalivaki is where we’ll definitely stay.
Kind regards
Fiona and David
Everything was wonderful at the cottage. Gerry gave us a wonderful basket with all sorts of goodies when we arrived, so we weren't rushed to go shopping right away. The cottage was perfect... beautiful, fully stocked for all our needs, great shower, fluffy towels, comfortable bed. The views are wonderful from the spacious yard, and we loved sitting outside on the patio, taking in all the sights & sounds.
The location of the cottage is perfect. There is a taverna & cafe just down the road, a few houses distance. We ate at the Taverna many times and they have great fresh food (but so do all the restaurants on the island!). Divarta is only a short ride away (we walked there once), and has great restaurants, and the first store on the left when you get into town has really great prices and the owners are super nice. Agia Efymia is about a 10 minute drive (we walked there and back one day... good work out!). It is a gorgeous town with lots of restaurants and gift shops, and beaches. We went all over the island to many towns. Poros was probably our favorite, since it was the least crowded out of all the larger towns, lots of beaches and restaurants to choose from.
The only complaint I have is that we had to go home. I highly recommend Kalivaki! When we go back, we will definitely choose Kalivaki again!
We spent an incredible and enjoyable time at Stone Cottage and we are so happy that we have been there. The house is so cozy and stocked with everything you need for a perfect holiday. The garden around the house is beautiful and invites to hang around in the midday sun when it is too warm at the beach! We could not have had a better accommodation for our one one-week-stay at Kefalonia! Also Makryotika serves as a good starting point to discover the island, especially the northern part.
We loved the island with its different beaches and small villages and taverns so much that we definitely will return some day.
We hope that we can stay at Stone Cottage again and send greetings to Gerry who was a very friendly host that helps you making your stay unforgettable with all of his recommendations!
Thank you so much,
Joachim and Diane
Fantastic little cottage in a beautiful location. In the many years we have been renting direct from owners we have never had a property so well equipped with EVERYTHING you could possibly need for your stay, including a British plug extension lead. Local taverna serves good homemade food with a friendly welcome. Would thoroughly recommend Stone Cottage!

Little paradise!
We had a wonderful time in this lovely cottage. The place is set within an amazing garden, which allows you to forget about the whole world. The cottage itself is very comfortable, with everything we needed. The bed was super comfy, bed linen crisp and fresh, the towels and bathrobes soft, super-fluffy and extra-white. Kitchen was supplied with all the appliances and the whole house was sparkling clean. And Kefalonia is such a beautiful island, we spent Easter there, before the tourist season, and it was truly amazing to have it almost for ourselves! We loved everything about our holiday and the stone cottage was the best part of it, if you like quite and relaxing holiday it is the best place to go!

Peaceful and secluded character filled cottage with views!
We had the most glorious 17 nights in this tranquil and private cottage. Jerry met us on the 1st night and called in on our last day and answered a text query promptly during the stay. Apart from that we had total privacy and peace. We loved the terrace with Valley and sea views and the outdoor kitchen. Nothing but the sounds of birds and goats!
The cottage had absolutely everything we needed, especially the kitchen and we had the biggest welcome pack we have ever had with wine, beer, cheese, ham, fruit and much more!
We had clean linen provided to change bed throughout our stay.
We travelled to gorgeous places and found quiet beaches and felt like we had moved there rather than just being on holiday! The local Taverna owner was friendly and we ate in several places in local harbour too, which we loved. We joined Jerry for cocktails on our last evening and can't thank him and local car hire company (who picked us up and returned us to airport) enough.
A fabulous rejuvenating break which was total perfection apart from the mosquitos!

Traumhafte Woche in wunderschönem Haus

Beautiful location, very tastefully decorated, extremely well equipped, cosy and comfortable.
We loved staying at Stone Cottage. It was perfect for a couple. The decor was delightful, everything worked well and it was exceptionally well equipped. There were many thoughtful touches such as providing a multi adaptor plug, hairdryer, toiletries in the shower and a very generous welcome selection of drinks.
Gerry was welcoming and hospitable and made it all very easy for us to settle down in the cottage. It was so nice to be located in a small Greek village and hear the sounds/see the sights of 'normal' life. It was a great spot from which to explore the mountains and the coastline and we particularly enjoyed going down to Agia Efimia to enjoy the harbour, the little beaches and the great selection of restaurants. Everyone was so friendly - we definitely want to have another holiday based at Stone Cottage.

lovely
We had a lovely, lovely stay at Stone Cottage. It was a lovely surprise to find that the owner had left milk, wine and beer in the fridge and toiletries in the bathroom, along with other provisions. Very thoughtful!
The house is lovely; small but plenty big enough for two and looked delightful. And the gardens are so nice it was hard to leave the house some days. I took lots of photos!
We ate at the local taverna several nights and it was really nice, especially as it was just a stroll away.
We hired a boat in Agia Efimia on one of the days and I would really recommend it.
All in all, a lovely holiday in a lovely holiday house.

Perfect hideaway
Lovely cottage. Small cosy with lots of character. Well equipped with everything you need. It's set in large gardens with different seating areas including a good outdoor kitchen space with a BBQ which we enjoyed using. Good views down to the coast from our morning coffee spot! Generous welcome pack. The village gives one a taste of real Greek life, there is a thriving cafe in the square and a good taverna. At the end of two weeks you're greeted like a local! Cottage provided a good base for exploring this part of the island and Agia Efimia is only a short drive and is very pretty with good choice of tavernas and cafe's as well as all your food shopping needs. Lots of beaches to explore and some breathtaking scenery.
We really enjoyed our stay.

Charming little cottage that's a bit special
Stone cottage is a lovely little holiday hideaway located near the top of the village. Lovely views from the front patio and lots of different seating areas meant that whether you want the sun or shade there's a spot for you. The kitchen is well equipped and we received a lovely welcome pack, milk, butter, fruit and wine, also a cake for our honeymoon. Oil from the olive trees outside honey from a local and more in the cupboard. Lovely seats inside and charming decor inside make this cottage more homely than an apartment could ever be. The air-conditioning was cooling on a thundery evening but most of the time not needed. We loved our time here and it's perfectly positioned to explore the island from. The grocery shops nearby are as good as the bigger ones in Argostoli and the swimming is great in Agia Efimia 5 mins away by car. Overall I would say this is the best rental we have booked in the last 8 years of going away. 5 stars

Loved it!
We went to Kefalonia expecting the typical August crowds. This cottage was a huge part in helping us relax and have a great time. Communication was great from booking through check out. Cottage was small but had everything one might need. Wine, water and fresh fruit were there when we arrived. We enjoyed long relaxed breakfasts under the olive trees right outside the front door (oil from the olive trees was available in the cottage), we had a barbecue to ourselves that we did not use. The cottage itself was clean, safe and very charming still retaining the original 18th century architecture. It is 10 mins from Mirtos, one of the most spectacular beaches in the Mediterranean, within 10-15 mins from Ag. Efimia and its beaches. You can rent a boat from Ag. Efimia or Fiskardo (45 mins away but worth the drive) and enjoy essentially countless "private" beaches all day or cross over to Ithaki for lunch! Great vacation and the cottage was an essential part! Would book again if we ever come back in kefalonia!
