Excellent Villa
Brilliant all round villa, lovely swimming pool and equipped with everything you need to make it feel like a home from home. Perfect for a relaxing family holiday!!!
Can’t fault it. The house was clean and tidy on our arrival and had everything we could possibly need. Located in a beautiful small town with all the amenities nearby.
The pool was a god send in the hot weather.

Thank you for your kind review. We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay .
We try to maintain high standards for our guests.
House is on the edge of a small village up a track with no through traffic, so lovely and quiet. It's a short walk through the narrow streets to the village bar, boulangerie and small shop. The outdoor space isn't over looked, plenty of seating, shade and areas to eat, also a nice clean BBQ with charcoal etc.
Inside, the house has everything you could need, plenty storage, cooking utensils if you choose to cook and has two fridges were appreciated for stocking up on the local wines! Property was clean, well presented and had a homely feel. Great communication from the owner too. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a quite relaxing break but you will need a car.
Alles da was das Herz begehrt.
Zu empfehlen ist die Kanutour auf der l orb in der Nähe.
A beautiful house that feels more like a home than holiday property. Lovely area with enough to keep you busy and a private pool and shaded seating for when you don’t want to be

Fantastic!
We had a great holiday at Les Jamelles. Arrived to find a thoroughly cleaned house and a well maintained pool. It is a thoughtfully equipped holiday home, in fact one of the best we've stayed in. Everything from freezer bags and oil, to dishwasher tablets and a cool box. Even a second fridge for the wine and beer. All emails were answered very promptly. Looking forward to returning next year - already booked!

Relaxing holiday in a home from home
We stayed for 2 weeks in this beautiful and luxurious house on the edge of an old circular village dating back 1000 years. It provided everything and more that it promised (except TV reception but who comes on holiday to watch TV?). The house was spotless and well equipped with everything you would want on holiday, from beach mats and umberellas, cool boxes and Tupperware, comfortable sunlougers with cushions

Convenient, stylish, personal
Les Jamelles is a rarity - no more than a five-minute walk from the village bar, the boulangerie and the tabac, yet contriving to offer personal space in a traditional, densely built-up, Languedoc village. Walls, fences, trees, greenery and the house itself are artfully arranged into an interconnected network of areas each with its own character.
The weather was scorching during the first week of our fortnight, frequently in the high thirties, yet Les Jamelles is equipped for all temperatures. One may lounge by the pool, take meals at an adjacent outdoor dining patio, or shelter from the heat (or the rain) under a roof that extends from the barbecue.
Inside, the house is luxuriously appointed. We've been renting Languedoc villas for a dozen or so years and this was the first supplied with a bathroom laundry basket. A small detail but typical of the house as a whole for this was a stylish bit of modern furniture, none of your ageing basketwork. Our bed in the main bedroom was huge as was the shower-equipped en suite. Three loos, too.
The heat discouraged set meals but on the rare occasions my daughter cooked there was an embarrassment of pans, crockery and utensils to choose from, plus hectares of space to work in. We were glad to find two fridges; during hot summers there has to be enough capacity to chill bottles of rosé by the dozen.
Service - pre, during and post - was exemplary. I'm normally disinclined to award five stars to any villa since it suggests perfection. But in the case of Les Jamelles, why not?

Beautiful villa in a lovely location
Wonderful week in a fantastic villa. This is a beautiful region of France, and this villa was a perfect base for our week of relaxation. The villa itself was very well equipt, the owners appeared to have thought of everything. The bedrooms are all a good size, the whole villa feels spacious.Having two decent bathrooms is a bonus too, and plenty of hot water for the teenagers showers! To be honest, the pictures don't really do it justice. It was very clean and nicely prepared for a new families arrival. The very delicious bottle of "Les Jamelles" was a very welcome touch also! Spent most of our time outdoors thanks to the amazing weather all week, however the indoor living room was comfortable and I used the kitchen and cooker a few times over the week without any problems.
We spent a lot of time in the pool which was absolutely esential in the scorching sun. It really was a lifesaver at times! The beautiful flowers by the well attracted many humming bird moths in the late afternoon. The terrace was also perfect for all our meals, don't think we ate indoors once all week. Oh and the sky at night was spectacular.
The surrounding area is ideal for day trips, as long as you can handle the heat! On this occassion we visited Beziers, Perpignon and one of the local quieter beaches. Previously we have been to Montpellier, Nimes and the roman aquaduct just beyond Nimes, Carcasonne and even into Spain to the Dali musuem (very surreal!) All of these places are great but the teenagers particularly liked Montpellier and the adults were very impressed with the aquaduct and Nimes. There are canoes and safe areas to swim in the river under the aquaduct also.
Overall this is a lovely area and a pleasant little village also. Have stayed in villas before without a shop within walking distance so that was a real bonus. The very pleasant lady in the bakery was always very welcoming and forgiving of my basic french! If I was to be picky, the only downside I can think of is the lack of a restaurant in the village. We had a very nice meal in the beautiful town of Pezenas, a place that we have been drawn back to on each of our holidays in the region. Well worth a visit, a little like Carcasonne but not quite as hot and busy.
Wonderful holiday. Only downside is that they never last long enough!
Thank you for a lovely week in your beautiful villa.

Lovely
A lovely villa with everything you could think of and very well maintained. Made use of the barbecue almost every night. Pretty village and very friendly - they don't mind you practising your French. Enjoyed a few days by the pool but spent most of our time out exploring, Minerve, Carcassone, Lac du Salagou or to the coast, Meze, Sete. Also of course a few wine caves - 3 in the village itself and plenty nearby offering a whole range of wines. This was our third visit - and we hope to return again soon

Les Jamelles
What a wonderful property with acres of space, a beautiful layout inside and out, a lovely pool, barbecue and the gorgeous Abri. The village is olds worldy and fantastic. The locals all say bonjour ( even the young ones) . The English locals are very welcoming we often met them on our exploration of the village and ended up having a long chat with a beer or a vin rouge. The boulangerie and pizza shops are first class. But most of all the owners were helpful, efficient and lovely to deal with. This was our first visit, but it will not be our last! We highly recommend les Jamelles as a great place to holiday. The only reason we have rated this 5 stars is because there aren't more.

About the host
Hosted by STEVENS
We are the Stevens family and we own this lovely villa in a very pretty friendly village with several British neighbours nearby. This year we have added a garage and a lovely arched porch at the front. It gives another shady area to sit and enjoy a drink. The abri has a large table for outdoor eating if the weather is too warm or too chilly! Our garden has fruit trees, guests are welcome to eat the ripe fruit! The garden and pool terrace have solar lights. The pool terrace has been extended, safety fencing and lockable gates give extra security to the pool area together with an obligatory pool alarm. A solar- powered pool cover helps to keep the pool clean and warm. We have installed a solar- heated pool shower. We have an A/C unit fitted in the main bedroom. The games room has an extra fridge for plenty or cool drinks. We try to make Les Jamelles a real home from home but in a warmer, sunnier place. As we spend Spring and Autumn in our villa we try to make it as comfy as possible for our guests. We provide the basic necessities, tea, coffee, sugar, cooking oil, flour, condiments etc. Cling film, foil, a selection of toiletries ( in case you forget something) and cleaning equipment are ready to start you off. The bedding is renewed every couple of years to keep the rooms looking fresh and inviting. This year solar panels have been installed to provide our own electricity.St Génies is a lively little village, the bar has music most Friday nights and provides good food. The pizzas at Rana pizza are excellent. An artisan boulangerie only 5 minutes walk sells delicious bread and croissants so good for breakfast. A small grocery shop sells most necessities. With 6 wines caves there is plenty of local choice. Vineyards all round are great for walks. We love swimmimg in the sea only 30 miutes away
Why they chose this property
We love France, especially the food and this area provides many diverse opportunities; from trips to the beaches, very clean and sandy, where the Mediterranean Sea is clear and clean, to the mountains for beautiful views and watersports (Lake Salagou and Reals for canoeing ), to the Canal du Midi and along the rivers, golf courses and of course plenty of wine "dégustations".The village boasts 6 different wine 'caves' for you to try at reasonable prices. .
What makes this property unique
The villa is on the edge of a pretty little village, with an Artisan bakers, , café/bar, tabac,, post office and world class pizza take-away only 5 minutes walk away .There is a vegetable market on Thursdays., fresh Seafood van on Fridays. The pool has a new solar powered cover and is completely private, security fenced and alarmed, as required by law in France, for children's safety An outside solar shower is great for a wash off after the beach. Plenty of parking space and playing area round the villa. which is on a private road. Our house keeper lives 2 minutes away so is quickly on hand if there is a problem indoors! Our friendly English speaking neighbours are very helpful and always happy to give suggestions on places to visit and to eat!!
