The apartment occupies the ground floor of the villa: two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a spacious living room, a kitchen. Furnished, with all comforts, in the Italian style. Outside, the garden and the pool, with gazebos and all you need to stay. In one bedroom there are a double bed and a single one, and the bathroom (tube) is inside. In the oher bedroom you can choose a double bed or 2 twins bed. The bathroom is provided of a shower.
In the living room, in old style, you'll find 2 tables, a sofa, dressers, a fireplace. TV in bedrooms and in the living. WIFI free. The kitchen is complete of accessoriere.

Hidden gem

We loved our stay and would go again and again. The hosts were a lovely couple and have created a very special retreat on their property. Fully equipped and featuring an outdoor garden table for dining and card games. Discovered so many spectacular places to visit within 30 min drive… medieval villages, volcanic lakes, hiking trails, thermal soaking pools, and amazing restaurants.

Lovely apartment in a beautiful area.

This apartment forms the bottom floor of the Lucia and Luigi's villa and is completely self contained. This spacious apartment was perfect for us, a family of 4 with daughters aged 11 & 15, and had everything we needed. The pool and garden area were perfect and we had sole use of it so very relaxing while letting the kids enjoy themselves, even after the sun had gone down! Lucia and Luigi were perfect hosts ( I can still taste that cake Lucia! ) and a couple of small problems we had were sorted promptly. A car is essential to visit this beautiful area. We loved swimming in Lago di Vico and San Martino di Cimino has several lovely restaurants. Viterbo with supermarkets, shopping, petrol etc is nearby. The list goes on and there is lots to see and do within 45 mins drive as well as the excellent train links to Rome from Viterbo. Overall we had a great time and thoroughly recommend this property if visiting Lazio.

A perfect holiday- quiet, relaxing and comfortable, sparkling clean private pool and gracious hosts

29 August -15 September 2018. Villa Lucia is one of the nicest places we have stayed. We are retired and our daughter and son-in-law joined us for a week of our stay. The flat is spacious, comfortable, cool and clean. The kitchen is well equipped. The gated property is very large, and the garden level apartment outlook faces the opposite way of the main house above, making it very private. Lucia and Luigi are gracious hosts, and stopped by occasionally with a bowl of figs or grapes or a freshly baked cake! (You'd win the technical challenge on Bake Off, Lucia!) The pool is very large and is kept sparkling clean. We had sole use of the pool and enjoyed lounging in the sun or in the shaded pool shelter, equipped with fridge and sink! There is a veranda outside the flat where we ate most meals since the weather was so good. We also barbecued in the veranda, usually watching gorgeous sunsets and one fantastic, but short thunderstorm! The cats are very friendly and made us laugh a lot! Viterbo is a fantastic location in Lazio. It's an easy drive from Rome Ciampino airport - about 1 hour 20 mins. Viterbo is a walled medieval city with lots of restaurants and shops and many beautiful churches and of course the Papal Palace! There are lots of other lovely places to visit nearby. Bagnaia is very close and worth a visit to see the magnificent gardens. The Roman amphitheatre at Ferento is only a 20 minute drive away (only open at the weekend although you can see lots from the road). Lago di Bolsena is gorgeous - well worth the drive. We took the train to Rome one day -only 12 Euros return for a two hour journey! (you can buy the train e-tickets online and have them on your phone!) We were lucky to be in Viterbo for the Feast of Santa Rosa, Viterbo's patron saint. On the 3rd of September every year an amazing night procession of the 30 metre high Macchina di Santa Rosa takes place through the city carried by the Facchini (or porters). We watched them march into the city behind the band and then followed them into the city. There are festivities in the city in the days leading up to the 3rd (including a children's Mini Macchina di Santa Rosa and a procession of costume through the ages) and on the 4th of September the entire old city becomes an open-air market. Thank you to Lucia and Luigi. We had a great time! We would certainly go again and highly recommend Villa Lucia! Susie and Keith, Sheffield, England

Wonderful apartment in Viterbo

This is a lovely property. It is accurately described and the photos give a clear impression of it. It was also very clean and well maintained. The kitchen has all the bits and pieces you need to cook your own meals and the layout of the bedrooms were great for our family. The swimming pool is lovely - it's set in a pretty garden and is very clean. There are also a lot of loungers and chairs available if you want to relax. Luigi and Lucia were fantastic hosts - even coming out late at night to collect us when we got lost! They were always willing to help or provide idea for days out. The property is within walking distance of the town - however, it would be a little far for younger children to walk. There are plenty of other attractions in the area such as lakes, ruins etc but you will need a car to visit them. I would thoroughly recommend this property to anybody who would like to experience this less visited area of Lazio.

Delightful holiday

The location is excellent. Just outside Viterbo, so really quiet. Pool is lovely, Breakfast ourside every morning. Close to some superb restaurants. The property is clean, well appointed and the owners are charming. Couldn't ask for more.

An excellent choice!

As a family of three adults and a baby we were looking forward to a relaxing holiday in a comfortable villa with swimming pool in lovely surroundings. Our expectations were exceeded on all accounts. Even before we arrived the email exchanges showed the owners' great willingness to please, i.e. help in locating car pick up from Ciampino, baby requirements etc. Lucia 's and Luigi's welcome, and assistance throughout, was warm and unstinting, not to mention Lucia's delicious cakes and their superior extra-virgin olive oil. The property is lovely. We enjoyed the large and well entertained garden, the clean swimming pool with a shaded area and another shaded area for meals al fresco, the latter very conveniently sited by our entrance, where the scent of jasmins was heavenly. The accommodation inside was stylish and at the same time practical and family-friendly, well-planned, well-equipped and extremely clean. It felt like a proper home, very welcoming. We also loved the very quiet location but close enough to Viterbo (a lively and delightful historical town) to walk there and close to other lovely places in this history-rich area (we hired a car). Thank you, Lucia and Luigi for making us feel so welcome. We are hoping to come again!

Great holiday

After 3 days in Rome we hired a car to get to Lucia and Luigi's beautiful apartment. It was an easy drive (once out of Rome!), we would HIGHLY recommend a car and could not have really managed without one. The apartment was clean, spacious, quiet and had everything we needed. The pool was immaculate and the children spent every available moment in there. Luigi and Lucia did not mind the noise ! At times we shared the pool with the family but they were very careful not to interfere with our holiday. The family made us very welcome, we even had Sunday lunch with them in the garden, they were keen to practice their English and taught the children some Italian. We visited the local town for evening meals but used the bbq and kitchen- local supermarket had all we needed. We swam in the lakes ( a car journey ) and enjoyed the beautiful scenery - this was a quiet and traditional holiday. We loved it and would definitely return, now the children are older (16 and 12) they would struggle to find things to do. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for younger families or older couples that want a break.

A perfect villa for a family holiday

Our week in Villa Lucia exceeded all expectations, even though we had examined the property description in detail and corresponded with Lucia in advance. The apartment is spacious:nothing has been overlooked. It is generously and comfortably furnished throughout with access to large gardens in which there are places to relax, a large shaded table for eating outside and a wonderful pool. The pool was the best we have found for swimming or simply lounging and kept in perfect condition. We brought a two year old grand-daughter and she had a lovely time as did we all (four adults). Lucia and Luigi are excellent hosts and always ready to advise or assist their guests. They could not have been kinder. The area is full of fascination and we should love to return to walk in the forests and explore the all lakes of which we only visited one: the Lago di Vico. Many other places are well within reach but a car is a must due to the fact that the villa is virtually in the countryside (making it very peaceful!).

Viterbo Villa

Excellence and well appointed accommodation with plenty of space. Everything you needs with lots to extras to make it a perfect holiday apartment. Pleasant covered outdoor sitting area and a good sized swimming pool. The property is well maintained and very clean and tidy. Lucia and Luigi are very welcoming and make you feel at home - Lucia little food treats are divine. We would definitely recommend this villa for a holiday and Viterbo is a lovely place to explore, with plenty of restaurants on hand.

We have lived here since 1975, with our 2 daughters (now not still at home), a dog and 3 cats. Our families are native to Viterbo for several generations, and both we love the region.
Tuscia, today, is renowned as the "Territory of the Etruscans" and, as such, it offers countless opportunities to explore this wonderful ancient culture.
Viterbo is the centre of this rich region, with its famous "medieval" city-centre and equally famous "thermal spa". You are within easy reach mountains, green countryside, the seaside (only 40 minutes by car), two volcanic lakes really enjoiables (Bolsena and Vico - 20 minutes drive). You can visit Rome, Orvieto or Siena in on a day trip.

Why they chose this property

We built the villa on land which belonged to the family since 1850. We are set in lush green hills but still but at only 1.5 km from Viterbo's centre. At our house and in our garden, we always feel "on holiday".

What makes this property unique

Our villa is spacious and comfotable. You'll enjoy the garden, and the pool in peacefullness, but in only few minutes you'll may reach railways, supermarkets and all other shops you need.
