Spacious Child Friendly 3 Bed House With Large Garden In Charming Village.

This charming house with extensive garden is ideal for a family break or even an escape for a couple. Two sitting rooms and 3 bedrooms (sleeps up to 8). Situated in the pretty village of Brigueil Le Chantre in the Vienne, Poitou Charente. There is a large pop-up pool for use in the garden, plus games such as croquet. A gorgeous patio, with gas fired BBQ means you will never want to leave the house, but the area is full of things to do. The ancient medieval town of Montmorillon is 15 mins drive away, with more restaurants, bars, twice a week market, supermarkets, open air swimming and a summer packed with fun festivals such as its popular music festival. Other attractions include the water resort at Chaillac with swimming lake, beach, water slide and pedalos. There are many chateaux open to the public. The area is brilliant for walking & cycling. We alternate our time between reading and paddling in the garden, and taking day trips in the surrounding area. A favourite destination is Lac de Saint Cyr, where we spend the day with a picnic. Or we head to Lathus for an action packed day with the CPA Lathus: riding, kayaking, etc. The house has an open fireplace, so how about an autumn visit to enjoy the wonderful colours of the Vienne?

vacances loin de la foule dans une maison confortable nichée dans un charmant village

Une maison bien adaptée pour nos retrouvailles annuelles en famille, avec mes fils, neveu, belle-fille, et surtout mon petit-fils de 4 mois, et la chienne Enid! A l'arrivée, comme la maison était restée inoccupée, il a fallu bien aérer pour faire partir les odeurs de renfermé. Les équipements pour le jardin (table, fauteuils) étaient entreposés dans la remise; nous les avons installés. (nous avons renoncé à installer la piscine, qui était couverte de poussière). Mais la maison elle-même est très agréable à vivre, spacieuse, avec quelques détails un peu anglais dans la déco (remarque: les photos sur le site ne mettent pas vraiment en valeur la maison, et ne montrent pas toutes les pièces ni le jardin). Les échanges avec Kate pour régler les détails du séjour ont été très faciles et cordiaux. Un séjour très agréable, sans mettre les pieds dans une grande surface, la petite épicerie du village nous a suffi. Balades autour du village, découverte de la Brenne, Poitiers, Saint-Savin, Chauvigny... etc. Et une soirée mémorable à la guinguette du village le vendredi soir, à ne pas rater!

Belle maison de campagne

Très belle maison, avec tout ce qu’il faut pour passer un bon séjour. Quelques défauts sont a noter concernant les matelas des lits 2 personnes, ils sont extrêmement inconfortables. La table de jardin beaucoup trop petite pour 7 personne. Sinon si vous chercher la tranquillité vous êtes au bonne endroit! La propriétaire est très arrangeante et très aimable. Belle région avec beaucoup d activités et de découvertes agreables

Le village et les alentours sont charmants avec de belles ballades et activités à faire dans les environs. La maison et le jardin sont agréables mais le confort annoncé ne s y retrouve pas par manque d entretien. Beaucoup de choses sont vétustes ou cassées et mériteraient vraiment d être remplacées (notemment la literie qui est mauvaise). Nous aurions également apprécié d avoir des informations lors de notre arrivée en étant accueillis par quelqu un ou par le biais d un livret d accueil. Attention pour ceux qui voudraient dormir un peu le matin :la maison est juste à côté d une église qui sonne l Angelus à 7h du matin tous les jours !

Huisje was prima wat betreft prijs en kwaliteit, grote tuin en alles is er aanwezig. Door Covid19 hebben de eigenaren gok ik geen mogelijkheden gehad om meer aandacht te besteden aan het huisje. In het dorpje zelf is niets meer. Dit klopt niet met de tekst. Als je van rust houdt helemaal prima en genoeg boodschappen mogelijkheden op 18 km afstand.

Une très belle location

La maison, ancienne, est décorée avec soin et très bien fournie en équipements modernes. Aucun problème de literie. Un vaste jardin clos et sécurisé pour les enfants. La maison est restée très fraîche malgré la canicule, Le calme est absolu et total . Idéal en temps de pestilence. Certes, il n'y a plus de commerces dans le village mais dix minutes de trajet en voiture permettent de rejoindre Lussac les Eglises et ses nombreux commerces. Très beaux chemins de randonnée tout autour, canoë sur la Vienne possible, plan d'eau pour baignade à proximité.

Séjour au calme

Maison charmante et spacieuse situé dans le bourg du village. Tout confort et très propre. Le plus : un grand jardin arboré . Le "moins" : la télé ne capte pas les chaînes (ou très mal) Dommage également qu'il n'y ait plus de commerces de proximité sur place (épicerie, boulangerie, pharmacie, ...etc). À part ces petits détails je recommande tout à fait ce gîte si vous souhaitez visiter la région de la Vienne et la Haute Vienne tout en séjournant au calme.

Maison agréable pour un séjour court

Maison agréable à vivre en été (fraîche, jardin....) mais un peu isolée (pas de commerces... le dépôt de pain indiqué dans l'annonce n'existe plus). La région est cependant agréable et le calme fait du bien! Par contre, nous pensons qu'il faut réellement changer les lits doubles : matelas et sommiers neufs sont indispensables! Nous avons assez mal dormi (ce qui en vacances est désagréable...) et les sur-matelas ajoutés, probablement suite aux commentaires sur l'inconfort des matelas, de suffisent pas.

Beautiful house in a great location

We really enjoyed our week in the house. A very charming house that suited us perfectly for visiting relatives nearby. Think just a little neglected. More information regarding the arrival process would have been helpful, we started to panic a little when there was no-one to greet us. To have a working television/cable as we had expected, would have made a great difference for the children, luckily the weather behaved for us so it wasn’t a big issue. The garden was a great size and the use of the pool was a great asset.

La maison est typique et pleine de charme. Tout équipée que ce soit à l'intérieur ou à l'extérieur ( piscine, trampoline, barbecue etc) cette maison située dans le pittoresque village de Brigueuil le Chantre permet de profiter de vacances sur mesure, reposante ou animée avec les nombreux points d'intérêt aux alentours (futuroscope, Ouradour sur Glane, châteaux, randonnées etc...). Superbes vacances en famille, à 8 + 1 bébé, et il est super pratique de ne pas avoir à apporter le linge de maison, ni nettoyer la maison en partant. Seul bémol les matelas à ressorts pas très confortables.

Great size, well equipped property

Once we got the hang of the heating everything was great. Very well equipped and very warm. Our visit was in February so not really sitting in the garden but lots of books and games to keep us amused. The owners, Kate and David bent over backwards to help with the heating when we first arrived and continued to be more than helpful when we ran out of wood. Juergen who looks after the property arrived immediately with a fresh supply of logs and helped load them into the wood store in the garden. If you are looking for a good sized gite, well equipped and with a decent sized garden I would without hesitation recommend this property.

Très jolie maison et charmant jardin dans une région verdoyante. Nous avons apprécié l'art roman particulièrement présent dans les environs, Saint Savin , Montmorillon, Le Dorât , Villesalem... Il faudrait réparer les volets qui ne tiennent plus... Un seul point négatif,les lits ne sont pas confortables, il est difficile d'y dormir à deux.

Beautiful Brigueil le Charente

Very quiet area for the time of year. Peaceful - which we appreciated. Not far from Poitier (for Futuroscope) and Limoges. Montmorillon is a historic, pretty town. We cycled all over with our 8 year old son. French drivers are brilliant and we had no problems with the drivers that we do have at home. I have been to all four corners of France but this place was a very nice surprise. Would like to go back to visit all of the places we missed. The property is rustic but well equipped. Choking back the tears as we had to leave.

My husband, daughter and I live in Wiltshire, England, with a dog, cat and 4 hens. We fell in love with the Poitou-Charente while on holiday there and were lucky enough to be able to buy this lovely house. We just wish we could spend more time there! Living in beautiful countryside and a lovely village in England meant that this was important to us in our French home and certainly the countryside of the Vienne and the village of Brigueil Le Chantre are everything we hoped for! We hope you love it too!

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with the Poitou-Charente when staying with a friend and decided we had to have a house here too! While house-hunting we covered the whole area, and came upon the Vienne in the autumn. It was so beautiful and then we found this wonderful house - deal done! We love the beautiful countryside, the "French-ness" of the house and the whole wonderful laid back lifestyle. The pace of life seems much slower, and not just because we're on holiday. I dream of upping and moving here permanently!

What makes this property unique

I love almost everything about the house - from the village, to parking right outside the door. I love stepping inside the cool hall on a hot summer's day. I love sitting out in the garden in summer and on the warm summer evenings, with the kitchen and living room so easily accessible. I particularly love the fireplace in early spring, autumn or winter - cosy!
