Chalet Chocolat is conveniently nestled between the two main Châtel lifts, Linga and Pré-la-Joux. The chalet is close enough to town to be convenient for bars, restaurants and shopping but secluded enough to enjoy the beauty of nature. Perfect for 2-3 families sharing, or groups of friends, sleeps 10+. Self catering but with flexible catering options and other little extras to ensure that you have the perfect stay. Chalet Chocolat is ideal for ski-drive holidays - just 9 hours drive from Calais or less than 90 minutes drive from Geneva airport. In brief:

Located nn the main free bus route to slopes (3 mins) and town centre (4 mins)

Sleeps +10 in 4 individually decorated rooms, 2 with en suites. Open plan living with real log fire. Satellite & WIFI enabled TV, DVD, Blu-Ray, iPad, iPod docking and music station, Wii with selected games. Store cupboard essentials. Feather duvets, Egyptian cotton linen, big fluffy towels, hairdryers and complimentary toiletries. Heated ski/boot room. Bon séjour. Malheureusement ,route de pré lajoux menant vers station départ du Vtt bruyante. Wifi très aléatoire. Hotte cuisine et cafetier café défectueuses.

Très bon séjour trop court

Un coin magnifique. Des paysages à couper le souffle. Un Bike Park pour les ados, des randonnées et activités pour petits et grands et les chien Le chalet est top Nous étions 6 mais possible de dormir jusqu’à 10 Un balcon, un bbq, tout proche du Bike Park avec les navettes toutes les 30 minutes Génial une machine à laver 3 salle de bain top Les petits bémols: il fait propre mais il y a mieux. Dommage aussi pour la moquette au sol dans les chambres ( je trouve cela pas très propres) . Pas de télévision en français. Dommage Une semaine c’est court. Dommage que les réservations ne se font que du samedi au samedi sinon j’aurais pris 10 jours Pour les futurs vacanciers, très bon séjour au chalet chocolat

Très bon séjour

Chalet traditionnel confortable ( bonne literie, trois salles de bain) décoration rustique, situé à Très les Pierres, à égale distance du centre de Châtel et de Pré la Joux. Un plus : le multipass qui donne accès à de multiples activités dans les stations porte du soleil pour seulement 2,50 € par jour ( remonte pentes, piscine, cinéma, etc.. )

Dejligt hus men lidt fugtigt i 'kælderen'. Meget trafikeret vej, men ikke noget der generede os. Havde en dejlig ferie med vandring i bjergene. Perfekt beliggenhed for cykelfolk !

Ideal location for Portes du Soleil

This was a really nice chalet in an ideal location, with everything you could want. Peter was a perfect host who responded immediately to any emails. There were a couple of plumbing issues while we were there, which we understand were being fixed the weekend after we left, but as a small party of four, we were able to work round them. Would recommend and would certainly visit again.

Great chalet !

We ve spent a lovely week, the chalet is super confortable and near the slopes (2 bus stops from there). When the weather is sunny you can spend a great afternoon enjoying the terrasse ! Thanks a lot, we ll be back !

Mooi, ruim chalet in rustige omgeving

Mooi, ruim chalet op een rustige locatie, enkele minuten van de skiliften en het dorp Chatel. Voldoende plek, goed uitgeruste keuken. Inrichting is wat ouderwets, maar wel gezellig. Peter, de eigenaar, is heel behulpzaam en heel aangenaam in de communicatie.

Great Ski Destination

Our extended family spent a wonderful Christmas and New Year week in this chic chalet. The location is great, so close to both Linga gondola and Pre La Joux skilifts, perfect for skiing/snow boarding. It is very well stocked and we had everything we needed. The host Peter is very helpful and always easy to reach. The only minor downside was the wifi that was very slow but that turned the kids toward playing more board games in the evening. I would absolutely recomnend this property and would stay here again!

Charmant village

Beau chalet. Le propriétaire prépare soigneusement l'arrivée de ses hôtes ce qui est appréciable. Un petit bémol concernant le lave-linge accessible uniquement depuis l'extérieur dans le "garage" ainsi que le sèche-linge qui s'avère être un étendoir électrique ( peut-être une petite erreur de traduction). Mais la maison est chaleureuse et bien équipée.

Chalet situé en bordure de route donc un peu bruyant quand on est en terrase. Linge de toilette et de cuisine en quantité insuffisante . Bon équipement général

Belle location

Ce chalet est bien situé près des départs des pistes des portes du soleil. Il est très bien équipé, propre et fourni avec de nombreux produits de tous les jours: on a l'impression d'arriver à la maison! Les chambres ont un peu exiguës, surtout celle avec les deux lits superposés. Peter devrait faire un petit effort sur le document des instructions avant arrivée dans le chalet: la traduction française est très approximative, la version anglaise dit que les animaux de compagnie sont interdits, la version française indique le contraire, le descriptif laisse penser que le chalet fournit un sauna et qu'une piscine commun est disponible, ce qui est faux! Globalement, location très satisfaisante.

lovely comfy place to stay in a brilliant ski area

A lovely comfy chalet, in a traditional ski area with lots of great skiing. Everything we needed for our stay, and the wood burning stove was lovely to come back to after a day out in the snow. We followed the recommendations of the owners for ski hire, pass purchase, shopping and places to go, all worked out really well and made it easy to have a brilliant holiday.

Very attractive property in a lovely location

The chalet was clean, warm and well maintained - perfect for teenagers after a days skiing! The kids had great fun with the Wii and the open plan living made for a really sociable holiday. We tended to eat out on the slopes at lunch time and eat in in the evenings - this worked really well for us. The wood burner was great and the accommodation very comfortable. Would definitely recommend this chalet!

Nous avons passé une semaine très agréable au sein de ce chalet "chocolat". Rien ne manque (seules quelques chaînes françaises). Propriétaire très sympathique même si nous n'avons conversé que par mail. Merci également à Charlotte très gentille également. A une prochaine fois j'espère à Châtel.

Lovely chalet, in a great resort!

Chalet Chocolate was great! Chatel is an excellent resort! Close to chair lifts and a great mountain bike park. Beautiful scenery. Would recommend buying a multi pass to take advantage of all the things to do!!

Absolutely Amazing Chalet - Home from Home

Chalet Highly recommended. We have used this Chalet 3 years in a row now and always enjoy our stay. We arrive to a clean and warm chalet, with our pre-shopping already delivered. The facilities are excellent, and I think most importantly for us, the chalet feels like a home, with the kitchen always well stocked with the basics, the lounge has a DVD player and a wii for the kids, and the bedrooms are ready to go. There is always wood for the wood burner, essential for any ski trip. The garage is perfect for our ski gear. The location is excellent, mid way between Linga and PreLaJoux, and the bus stops right outside. The Skiiing in Chatel is excellent, and a great window into the Portes Du Soleil region. Our children have all learnt to ski here and we are now free to go off exploring as a family. The owners are great, and always helpful and responsive and the Chalet managers are just over the road and always available. I can highly recommend a stay at Chalet Chocolat!

Great week in the summer

Thank you for such a lovely weeks holiday. I hope you can make use of this review. We enjoyed our week in August in the mountains at Ski Chalet Chocolat. There was so much to do in Chatel for everyone in the family from walking, Via Ferrata, biking and swimming in the luxurious new pool in town. The chalet had all the home comforts to make a really relaxing weeks holiday. The kitchen was well stocked , it even had a slow cooker making it easy to feed six of us in the evenings after active days out ! It was exciting to be able to use the amazing lift system that Chatel has to offer to reach the higher ground ( we have only ever been to the Alps in the winter season before this trip but will become a regular summer visitors now). It felt great to walk from France into Switzerland and back in an afternoon!

Chalet Chocolat

A beautiful chalet that is clearly loved. Not only did we have all the conveniences, but also all the comfort, luxury and character that so many places lack. The support network for skis, food & cleaning was all in place and allows you to maximise time on the mountain. This is further enhanced by the ski-in, bus out location. Love the accessibility of Chatel from Geneva, making it a fantastic gateway in to the Portes du Soleil ski area. Best recommendation I can give is that I have already booked to go again this season. A very appropriately named Chalet.....

Chalet Chocolat

Chalet Chocolat has been our favourite destination for the last two years. It is great accommodation for family or friends to share a skiing or walking holiday in the French Alps. The chalet is well placed for either the slopes (free bus stop just close to the chalet) or just popping into town. It is extremely comfortable and has everything you need for a relaxing fun holiday. The views from the balcony are stunning and perfect for enjoying a glass of something refreshing after a day on the slopes.

After 25 years skiing in the Portes du Soleil region we couldn’t resist buying our own property, and hope to spend as much time as possible in Châtel with our two young daughters. When not in town, we look to offer what we always wanted to hire, traditional Alpine Chalet, well equipped with quality furnishings modern technology, and all the little things we miss when not at home (eg, Fluffy towels for the ladies, girls and Logs for the boys, and Wii for the kids)

Chatel is a authentic French Alpine town, with a very close and friendly community, with stunning landscape. The area is one of the largest ski regions in the world with over 650kms of piste and one of the best snow records in the whole of the Alps. In summer, with the blanket of snow gone, it’s perfect for spending countless hours hiking, cycling, adventuring or just relaxing and indulging in the great surroundings.
