Our location is the midst of a part of hidden France, where time seems to have stood still for centuries. The seaside and the coastal towns are an easy day out. Many beaches within 1hr drive. 3 historic market towns within 15 mins drive.

About the host
Hosted by Richard Dale
My family and I moved to France in 2003 and have renovated a number of historic farms in the area. We are all well integrated into the local community and speak fluent French.
We love to show visitors around this delightful part of the country. We encourage our guests to practice their French (particularly on the bread and croissant delivery lady); but for those who are a bit nervous with the language, we are more than happy to make restaurant reservations or help deal with any emergencies (eg. if a car breaks down or if someone requires medical treatment etc.)
Why they chose this property
My parents first purchased a small house in the area in 1988 and after a few delightful holidays here, my wife and I decided to buy a property ourselves in 1997. The stunning countryside, sunny weather, lovely old buildings, peace and quiet and quirky local people all contributed to a decision to move here with our 1 year old son Jamie in 2003. Our daughter Lucie was born here in Aug 2004 and we have run the property as a complex since around that time. The place took years to renovate !
What makes this property unique
Our guests seem particularly impressed with the facilities for children and especially the safety aspect of the property with the fully enclosed garden, surrounded by the gites themselves and the separate swimming pool area which is also full enclosed. The field (with soccer nets ) and play barn (with ping pong and basketball hoop) add a couple of further dimensions to round off the holiday experience. With five cottages and a lot of shared facilities, we have a real community feel and many guests come back year after year to meet up again with friends they made during their first holiday here.
