Beautiful house

Apart from being quite a squeeze for 16 people, we had a wonderful stay at the house. Perfect for a hen party.

Great location

Great location and everything provided for a large party. The house and grounds are spacious and great fun. We really enjoyed the kitchen/conservatory and the covered outdoor dining area. However, the house is shabby in parts and the quality of the bathrooms and water pressure to the showers were a disappointment.

A memorable holiday

A really lovely area that we shall be returning to. Downstairs was ideal for our mixed age group of 10. Plenty of space and lovely rooms. Garden perfect for kids games & kitchen for cooking for 10. Unfortunately previous guests had flushed inappropriate things down macerator toilets which despite best efforts of owners before we arrived resulted in an unpleasant smell in the bathrooms and some other rooms. Unsurprisingly in such an old house the electrics are a bit temperamental but none of this ruined a wonderful sunny family holiday. We felt that the house needed some TLC upstairs but quite understand that it must be a difficult property to maintain. We didn’t meet the owners and so didn’t like to complain but feel sure they would have done more if they’d not been away.

Stay at the Old Vicarage

The Old Vicarage is a beautiful old country house with very pretty rooms and furnishings. The proprietress left us very detailed information about finding the home, as well as shops and attractions in the area and recommendations for places to eat. We were also greeted with lovely Welsh cakes and Bara Briar bread, which was a lovely touch. We were happy to be able to use a grill in the back garden and found ample dishware and cookery for preparing meals. The location was quite picturesque and just a short drive to numerous attractions on the peninsula, such as King Arthur’s Stone, Three Cliffs Beach and Rossini Bay Beach. We were in town with a group of 8 for a wedding at Fairy Hill and found the house to be a good set up for our needs. However, the house is in need of attention. The cleaners have been neglecting the dusting and cobwebs and dead insects were plentiful. The showers also need a thorough scrubbing. There was a dead bird just outside the garden door. We were disappointed that the dryer has been decommissioned as it is a recalled older model and requires being replaced. The electrical is also in need of an upgrade as some of the outlets are unusable. Mold is growing in some areas. We understand that a home of this age and size is a large undertaking, but some adjustments with the maintenance would really elevate this property.

70 th Birthday Party

The house and garden were perfect for a family party , some of us travelled from Yorkshire others from London . Walking into a big hallway , lots of rooms downstairs , study 2 sitting rooms , we never used them because the weather was beautiful so we were outside in the massive garden. The open kitchen leading to conservatory was perfect for us 11 staying , in fact Friday my birthday it held 16 for breakfast , rest of my family live in swansea. We had a bbq in garden on Saturday for all my family which again was perfect , loads of parking . 5 bedrooms upstairs with spare beds if needed . The owners responded straight away when we asked questions . Thank you the old vicarage Ann p

Rhossili Old Vicarage

We had a wonderful weekend here and thoroughly enjoyed every part of the house and grounds. The group of 10 adults and children never felt cramped, even when additional family came to visit, and the amenities were everything you would wish for.

Perfect for hosting friends, cooking a feast and soaking up the sun.

Such a beautiful house! The kitchen is amazing, so much fun to cook, entertain and eat together. The garden is beautiful with the most amazing tree, and peaceful surroundings. The walk in shower room is a touch, amongst a well decorated and tasteful interior. Has to be the best conservatory I have ever seen also! Everything just flows really nicely, everyone was amazed with the place, what a find!

Wonderful!

The property is beautiful and the owners are incredibly generous, lovely people. It's a real find. Plus the location is fabulous - the local beaches are stunning. We were a large group but all slept comfortably and the house never felt cramped with all its different spaces and large garden. We will very likely book this place again.

Beautiful house

I booked The Vicarage for a friends hen do and we loved every minute! The directions to the house were spot on (those that only used the postcode got a little lost) and the surrounding area was beautiful. The house was as impressive as in the photos. Beautiful gardens with a long drive up to the house. The kitchen and dining area was fabulous - well kitted out kitchen and we enjoyed a crafts afternoon in the conservatory/ dining room. The bedrooms were all lovely and the lounges were great. The whole house was spotlessly clean. The owners were so helpful when I got in touch over a few queries. We mainly stayed in but did venture out to the King Arthur pub, which was lovely and cosy, surrounded by wild ponies and sheep, and also down to Oxwich Bay which was Gower at its best. I would thoroughly recommend this house and am trying to think up another reason to come back! Thank you!.

Amazing house in the Gower

Fantastic accommodation., lots of good facilities and everything you could ask for in the kitchen! Good for families including the very young and old. Very good communication, co-operation and flexiblity from the owners. We loved the fact that you could drive to lots of beaches within half an hour and there were plenty of little shops to buy supplies. We would recommend this lovely house to anyone wanting to holiday in the Gower.

Stunning property, incredible location

We were a hen party of 14 staying for two nights at the house and could not have been happier. The house was even better than we had expected - everything we could have wanted was provided; the house was clean and well presented; the large kitchen and dining area were great for cooking and eating together as a large group; the beds were all very comfortable; the large garden was great for alfresco dining; and to top it all off, it's very well located for visiting the Gower's beautiful beaches! Cannot recommend enough.

February wedding stay

We stayed for one night in February, prior to our daughter's wedding at the nearby Oxwich Bay Hotel. Staying at the vicarage were myself and my husband, the bride, her five bridesmaids, my son and partner and two infants. It proved to be a perfect property for our needs. There were some lovely touches like fresh flowers in the hall and lights and heating already on when we arrived. Alison, the owner was extremely helpful during numerous communications over the nine months prior to our stay. The property itself was spotless and well equipped and the the conservatorywith its huge table provided the ideal space for the wedding eve meal and the hair and make up operation in the morning. The whole house afforded many informal and formal photo opportunities Alison even allowed us extra time in the morning to vacate the property knowing that we were preparing for a wedding. Despite this extra time we still managed to leave some items behind! These items were actually delivered to our hotel the following day which we think goes way beyond reasonable expectations of customer service. We cannot recommend this property highly enough. It is ideal for situations such as ours or for a much longer stay where one would be able to explore the surrounding area. The house certainly added to our positive memories of a lovely few days and ur only regret is that we did not have longer to enjoy this magnificent property.

What a gem!,

Fantastic property for large groups. We had such a great time in The Old Vicarage to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday and my sons birthday too.The property was clean and well maintained, lots of space/rooms for entertaining. The kitchen/conservatory was fantastic, definitely the hub of the house. Everything was there that you needed, even ice in the fridge freezer. Never been to the gower before would really recommend, we walked to the beach, a bit of a walk but well worth it. We would love to return to The Old Vicarage again.

Amazing place to stay

We stayed at The Vicarage as we were going to a family wedding on the Sunday. Alison could not have been more helpful in providing us with information before and after we had booked The Vicarage. We arrived and the place was immaculate. The rooms are amazing, large , airy with loads of comfy lounging about sofas and chairs with games books and DVDs to entertain you. Essentials in the kitchen including washing up stuff which is always a bonus. Bedrooms lovely and spacious with room for travel cot as well. Gardens are lovley and the conservatory with its huge dinging table was fantastic for big family meals. The breakfast bar in the kitchen great for small gatherings and chatting over preparations for dinner. All in all we were very impressed and would definitely returnm

WOW!! Wish we stayed for longer!

We only stayed for one night, but wish we had more time. Upon arrival, in what feels to be the middle of nowhere, we approach the front gates and follow the driveway up through the grounds to a spectacular looking building. Inside was even better and kitted out with everything necessary to stay for as long as you wish. The kitchen and dining room are just marvellous. There are numerous places (including a library) to get away from the rest of the group (if necessary!). The bedrooms were good with comfortable beds. Owners were great and understanding. What else can I say, a fantastic stay!
