Marc is an outdoor 'junkie'. Snowboarding, skiing, mountain biking, hiking, scrambling, rock climbing, canoeing, you name it, he loves it and tries to do as much of it as he possibly can, as often as he can!

More of a beach lover, Tania is a mountain convert! Since owning Chez Michelle, she has learnt to ski and soaked in the atmosphere of Samoens and many of the little villages and towns in and around Samoens the area, including Lake Geneva. There's plenty more she'd like to explore when she's not completely switching off and reading her book in the living room or on the balcony!

It's only a 75 minutes flight from London to Geneva and from there an hour's drive to Chez Michelle in Samoens. There's no long transfer to and from the airport and before you know it you're breathing in clear mountain air amidst incredible mountain ranges.

Chez Michelle is in a peaceful farming hamlet of Samoens. As soon as you walk in the door, you feel at home. Light, spacious and quiet, it's very easy to while away several hours soaking up the stunning mountain and valley views from either of the apartment's two balconies, or simply read a book or watch a film on the sofa in the living room or on the mezzanine.

Whether you stay on the valley floor or opt to climb ever higher into the mountains by ski lift, car, on foot, or by mountain bike, you feel like you're in another world. Samoens is such a quaint, French village with a host of traditional-style bars and restaurants for a feel of real rural France. With activities for everybody, all ages, all abilities, all interests in such a beautiful environment, we fell in love with Samoens and Chez Michelle at the very outset.

Chez Michelle really is home from home. Relax, unwind, breathe in some clear mountain air and have some fun. A week's stay at Chez Michelle really does give you a taste of life in a friendly, true alpine French village – that's why we love it so much ourselves!

If you're looking for a comfortable self-catering chalet or apartment for up to 6 people, that's within easy walking distance of great restaurants and fun bars but not in the midst of the noise and frivolity, Chez Michelle is what you're looking for.

In the winter skiing months, it takes 8 mins by free ski bus or car to get to the Grand Massif Express lift for access to the 265km of pistes of the Grand Massif domain. In the spring and summer months, there are literally hundreds of walking, cycling and mountain biking trails for all abilities, many from right outside the apartment. Samoens' Leisure Centre with its swimming pools, tennis courts, water golf, football and volleyball areas, and the Indiana Adventure Parc, are only a 10 mins drive or 15 mins walk from Chez Michelle. You can cycle or walk on the flat path to Morillon's Lac Bleu and its sandy beach, open water swimming, pump track, pony riding and treetops activity course.

Whilst a car is recommended in the summer, it's not essential.
