About this property

House On The Shores Of Lochalsh

Seacroft is nestled at the mouth of Nostie Burn on the shores of Lochalsh. It is an ideal location and base for exploring all the delights of Wester Ross. Only 6 miles from the railway station of Kyle where there are ample shops and supermarkets as well as banks and the local swimming pool. From Kyle you can take the Skye Bridge over to the Isle of Skye and with lovely views of the majestic Cuillen Hills. The seaside village of Plockton is only a few miles further on with its palm trees and roving highland cattle. Also we are only 2.5 miles from the famous Eilean Donan Castle at Dornie. From there you can travel up the length of Loch Duich and then take the old Military road over to Glenelg. The views and tranquillity of the shores of Lochalsh are breathtaking and there are endless opportunities for all sorts of outdoor pursuits including hill walking, horse riding, bird watching, mountain biking and many more. From the window we can see some of the Five Sisters of Kintail.

Seacroft
This was our second stay at Seacroft and this time we brought 4 of our friends including 2 from the USA to see the wonderful location and scenery in the Highlands. Everyone was blown away by the views and the wonderful accommodation at Seacroft, offering plenty of space for the 6 of us. We ended up having to extend our stay by a day due to car problems and Constance went out of her way to help us and make us feel welcome.

Beautiful Scottish experience
I loved the location of the house - private and right next to water with amazing view out of the sitting room window. Lots of walks around. The house itself was all good. Especially loved the comfy bed and powerful shower. The kitchen has everything you need for longer stay, you can cook whatever you want to. A lot of storage area too. We were all enjoying the sitting area with fire and amazing view. The house can get pretty warm which is just perfect for me. I wasn’t cold at all although I was worried I might be. Really practical was also the washing maschine, dryer and dishwasher. Really appreciate it.

Perfect house and location for 2 families with 4 children.
Constance was a very helpful host answering all our questions before we arrived. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was very homely, clean and spacious with plenty of room for the children to play inside and outside. We were very impressed with the very well equipped kitchen which has everything you could possibly need. The dining table is also a good size for large groups and the living room area has plenty of comfy couches and seats for everyone. All of the bedrooms are a good size with plenty of storage, 3 of which had en-suite toilets with showers. The kids loved with big family bathroom with the jacuzzi bath. The location is fantastic too. We were sad to leave and could happily have stayed longer than our 5 days. We would happily recommend this house to anyone.

Great location, property in need of TLC
Super location for trips out onto Loch Alsh or onto Skye etc. B&B next door who were very friendly. The property itself is a bit disappointing, it needs some TLC and could really benefit from 'proper' access to the Loch as opposed to battling through the undergrowth. The property is also cluttered with the owners items which I'm sure is lovely for them...not so great for us!..and not great from a Covid perspective either - far too many items to be properly cleaned at turnover. On the positive side, the property did accommodate our group well (two adults and two children as well as two other couples).

We live in Edinburgh and have always loved the West Coast of Scotland as we have family ties there.

Why they chose this property

Seacroft is just the most relaxing place in the world and as it is on the shores of Lochalsh has great views and an ever changing landscape. The house because it is quite new is really cosy and although we have the wood burning stove is is certainly not essential! As we use the house lots ourselves the kitchen is well stocked with everything you would need. Lots of plates and cutlery etc etc.

What makes this property unique

We have recently recarpeted and painted the entire house and upgraded the three ensuite bathrooms. There is also a new Amercian style fridge freezer with ice maker etc.
